“NCIS” star Pauley Perrette, who grew up in Roswell was identified by viewers as television’s favorite person in the latest Q Ratings survey.

Perrette, who plays the quirky Abby Sciuto on America’s No. 1 scripted show, wasn’t the only “NCIS’ actor in the top 10. The top seven, according to Entertainment Weekly, are:

1) Perrette

2) Cote de Pablo (Ziva on “NCIS”)

3) Jim Parsons (Sheldon “Big Bang Theory”)

4) Mark Harmon (Gibbs on “NCIS”)

5.) David McCallum (Dr. Donald Mallard on “NCIS”)

6) Nathan Fillian (Richard Castle on “Castle”)

7) Michael Weatherly (Anthony DiNozzo on “NCIS”)

In past years, Perrette’s popularity was along the lines of Morgan Freeman and Tom Hanks.

Celebrities, companies, TV shows and brands been measured by Q-Scores for years to gauge their popularity and likability. For individuals, this is useful for advertisers who might be interested in using them for endorsements.

I emailed Pauley for a comment and she responded quickly:

Considering the fact that I studied Sociology, Psychology, and Criminal Science in college, and figured I’d be either an FBI agent or a cop, it’s a bit surreal.
But as a student of human behavior as a science, I think it gave me an advantage as an actor.
I watch and learn from everyone,
At all times. :)

[UPDATE at 10 p.m. EST: Earlier, I somehow transposed Norcross with Roswell and identified her as coming from Norcross. I'm probably the first one to ever do that because the two cities aren't terribly close to each other and don't even sound alike.]

She was Homecoming Queen at Crestwood High School in the mid 80’s, which was in the Sandy Springs/Roswell area.

I like the fact that NCIS pays tribute to the military in a round-about sort of way. Not so much in your face, but still very patriotic.

Norcross?? I grew up with and was very close to Paulie Perrette and her family. They lived in Roswell. She work on several shows before getting her lucky break. She deserves all the goodness going her way. She is a very sweet lady!!!

I’ve never watched an episode of NCIS and had no clue about the name, but I recognized the face form the ads I’ve seen. She’s the quirky one with the weird clothes, hair, and make up right?

One of these days I’m going to watch that show. It seems to be interesting, but as with all shows nowadays, if you don’t watch from day 1 you are lost………. and this on is even worse, it’s a spin off of a spin off so there are so MANY subplots that who the hell know what or where something is coming from. I think this show is older than my daughter, and that’s a lot of catching up to do.

I wish then well and congrats funny looking chick.

NCIS is not a spin off……it is an original show.

CSI is the one with all the spin offs…..although they really each stand on their own….not “true” spin offs…..they didn’t take a cast member and start a new series…..

NCIS is considered a spinoff of JAG. We have seen many minor character crossovers, but not the big 3 characters (Harm, Mac, and Chegwidden) from JAG.

I wish NCIS or NCIS: LA in a tribute of sorts to the original series in the franchise provide some closer to these JAG characters in an NCIS episode. My thought would be for Gibbs to attend the funeral of Chegwidden that dies under unusual circumstances where he reunites with Mac and Harm that are no longer in the Navy. Mac or Harm helps in the investigation while the other character not used is a lawyer for perhaps a defense contractor which is featured in another episode.

I like NCIS. Mark Harmon was number last year. He beat out Oprah as the most trusted tv star also.

Yay, Pauley! You go, girl! NCIS is our family favorite, hands down, and much of it is because of Pauley’s quirky, warm-hearted, enthusiastic, affectionate and brilliant Abby Sciuto. As Tony DiNozzo described her in Season 7’s premiere: “The happiest Goth you’ll ever meet.” NCIS has terrific ensemble performances — the actors know their characters inside-out, and as a result, they can take those characters in interesting directions that wouldn’t be possible in a more formulaic show.

I would have thought Eva Longoira would be in the top tier—- also no “tiger blood” I never watched any of these shows–not once but I never watched desperate housewives–

Rodney, she went to Esther S. Jackson elementary school in Roswell, and graduated from Crestwood High School in 1987. She lived in Roswell and when we were in school called CHS Dunwoody, which is now the site of Sandy Springs Middle School.

Love Pauley, did not realize she was from Roswell, so am I, but a little older – on NCIS she shows that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover – she is super smart, dedicated and loving all in one. Keep up the good work Southern Lady.

NCIS is absolutely a spinoff from JAG. They had a two-episode crossover/introduction where Gibbs was investigating Rabb for murder.

Ramblin Wreck is correct. “NCIS” is a spinoff show of “Jag.” And naturally “NCIS” spun off “NCIS: Los Angeles”

…most of the time the episodes of NCIS are “stand alone”, meaning you do not have to watch every episode to know what is happening on the show you are watching. Every so often they run series where one show leads to another, but not all the time, though I will admit that this past year they did a rather lengthy series about a CIA agent gone rogue…

I watch NCIS programs over and over – isn’t that pathetic. The writers have created such strong characters that are almost predictable as to how they respond to any situation. I don’t have a favorite, but I am in love with Gibbs and I would love to know and befriend Abby. I miss Kate and Jennie and I don’t like Leon, the NCIS director. I admire Ziva and would love to have some of her courage; and I would love to have McGee as my son. Tony’s character is the boy you would never want your daughter to date, but I would have dated him (if asked) forty years ago.
Please don’t ever cancel this program – it is the best one!!

Penny: Love those guys too. Just discovered “Castle” this past season – he’s very cute and there’s lots of chemistry on that show. And I adore “Chuck”, but sure wish Zachery would grow his hair back the way he wore it the first 2 seasons – much cuter with more hair.

I like NCIS, but mostly catch it on reruns on USA just about any night. As an “older” viewer, I really like, and always have, Mark Harmon. Pam Dauber is one lucky lady.

NCIS LA is not a true spin off. it is all different writers and producers. They paid NCIS to use the name.

Cote de Pablo is the best looking woman on TV. That Brazilian thing is working well for her.
Pauley is so cute, qurky, and sexy. She is so cool in real life too. She is a Hot Rod chick, in a girl band, and some of the Tats are real. She is the new Betty page without the pinup calendar.

I enjoy the show quite a bit….having come from a law enforcement background though, I cannot stand Michael Weatherly (Anthony DiNozzo on “NCIS”)….I guarantee you if he was on a team I worked with, I would make sure he had to go on a really dangerous call without benefit of any backup and hope that he met an untimely end…I keep hoping this happens to him on NCIS…….He is not a team player and should be removed from the show and replaced by somebody else – a totally different character.
