Bridesmaids are just as capable as brides to generate drama. And wedding-obsessed fans love it.
TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids,” set at Bridals for Lori in Atlanta, will be back next season after a successful test run of six episodes this past month. Season two will feature 18 episodes, set to debut in March, 2012.
TLC hasn’t officially said so, but a third season of the original “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” will return, too.
The five episodes of “Bridesmaids” that have aired so far have done even better than the original Atlanta bridal-focused version. The most recent original show this past Friday at 10 p.m. drew 1.65 million viewers, improving upon the “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta” episode at 9:30 p.m., which brought in 1.56 million viewers. The “Bridesmaids” finale airs Friday July 28 at 10 p.m.
“The bridesmaids appeal to more people,” said Bridals By Lori owner Lori Allen in a phone interview Thursday. “Men have stopped me and said they watch it. There’s intrigue in how 10 people can make a decision. I’ve always told people how crazy the store gets. Now they are really getting to see what happens.”
“Bridesmaids” is part of a “Say Yes to the Dress” franchise that now includes the original, the Atlanta bride version, “Big Bliss” and “Randy Knows Best.”

Oh yay. More fat self-important delusional women thinking that blowing $50k on a party is a good idea. Good job, America…..no wonder China owns us.

Chuckie, you’d be correct if he were using the term as a noun. He’s not. He’s using the term as a verb to describe the process of the showing receiving a green light.

Fran is absolutely right. Think of it be using a different word – “Bridesmaids’ gets lit for a second season.” Get ‘er drunk!

I watch this show and am appalled at the bahavior of these women. You ever act like a whiny B!^*$ in my wedding and you will find yourself off the friends’ list! On the other hand, the heavy handedness of the brides is equally appalling. Let’s all take a deep breath here and focus on the reason (marriage) for the party, and not the party itself. #nobridezillahere
