Oprah Winfrey is set to appear at the Georgia World Congress Center all-day event called “O You!” October 15.

This is one of those days packed with panels and workshops featuring Oprah proteges such as Gayle King, Suze Orman, Dr. Oz and Nate Berkus. Originally announced in May, this event did not mention Oprah as a speaker at the time. Today’s news of Oprah’s presence should help fuel ticket sales. The itinerary for the day is here.

“Our readers love getting up-close and personal with the O experts they connect to in the magazine,” said Jill Seelig, vp/publisher of O, The Oprah Magazine, in the press release. “When Oprah herself participates, it takes O You to the next level adding an extra layer of magic and excitement

Tickets are $125 apiece. You can buy them here at www.oyouonline.com.

Sarge, don’t hate because Oprah has more money that you will make in a lifetime. Be happy for her and maybe if you are happy and not envious of someone, God will bless you to receive as well.

I agree! Who cares!! $125 per ticket … are you serious? I think that would go a long way to buying groceries or paying a bill. I don’t think so?!?!?!?!

I would pay $10,000 to hear Oprah talk. The woman is such an inspiration. She makes more in a day than every single one of us here combined will make in our entire lives. She’s so freaking impressive.

Before I paid Oprah Winfrey $10,000 to hear her speak, I would look around at the many helpless, homeless, working poor, uninsured and hungry people and see who I could uplift. That’s what I find empowering!

I’d love to hear/see Oprah speak up close and personal. But $125, really? Really? But there will be tons of people there with $125 tickets who’ve paid $10-$20 park. They’ll also purchase expensive books and other stuff being sold to people who won’t take anything away from teh event other than the fact that they saw Oprah.

berv – I want to see you buy 80 tickets ($10,000 / $125) and take them to a women’s shelter and pass them out. Tell them you were willing to spend $10,000 to see Oprah, but since your ticket only cost $125, you thought you’d buy all of them some.

Go ahead, I dare you.

If Oprah (and her minions) really wanted to help us all out, the event would be priced at $30-40 so it wouldn’t hurt our wallets and more people could afford to go see them.

Instead, she just wants more cashola.

Hey berv, a little clueless aren’t you? You stated that Oprah: “makes more in a day than every single one of us here combined will make in our entire lives.”

Oh really? Let’s see, I guess about 20,000 people read ajc.com per day. On average each of us will make about $40,000 per year for the next 30 years ($1.2 million). So $1.2 million times 20,000 people equals $24 Billion.

So you’re saying Oprah makes $24 Billion per day? Then why is she appearing at shows?

You would pay 10k!!! She is such an inspiration..Save $9,970.00 and buy a book. You said she makes more in a day than all of us but then again you would pay $10k. I tell you what..I BET YOU THIS. You donate 10k to Oprah’s favorite cause and I BET you will get front seat and a free signed book. You go ahead with that berv. ENJOY FOOL!

Berv,

I am so inspired by her constantly going from fat to skinny and then back to fat again. Not to mention how inspiring it is that she shoves her varying diet plans (that never work) down the throats of everyone, who then gobble them up like SS propaganda. Not to mention having to hear her libtard commi bs daily, which is very inspirational. How many pounds of cow crap can I get for $10K. At least I can fertilize my garden with that.

First, I would never pay $10,000 to hear someone speak. I could find too many other good things to do with that money. (charities, my retirement, animal shelter, etc.) She is inspirational, but I could get inspiration from other sources. I see Oprah has to have the spot light on her 24/7.

I would pay $125.00 to see Oprah. People pay that and more for great seats at a Concert and don’t complain. It’s whatever moves you. If seeing Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Prince, Justin Bieber or some other artist.no one is yelling about the ticket prices. If you don’t like her..don’t go. It’s as simple as that.

First of all, the ticket prices are high for most of us, but not out of line. We wanted to see James Taylor & Carol King, or Paul McCartney, when they were each in town and the tickets were that expensive for them as well. And with Oprah – she’s also paying several guest speakers. I’m sure Dr. Oz and Suzie Ormon aren’t cheap!!!

For those of you who seem so put out by all this – just don’t go!!! If you think everyone who has money should give it to shelters and homeless people, maybe you should sell your home and car and donate half the proceeds to people in need as well!
