Cumming native Kelli Giddish keeps finding work on network television.
In 2009, she shot “Past Life” on Fox in metro Atlanta, but the paranormal drama bombed early last year. She was quickly placed on an NBC’s “Chase,” a police procedural that did poorly and failed to last one season.
Now NBC is giving her a third shot by giving her a role as a detective on an existing show: Dick Wolf’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” which is entering its 13th season this fall. It’s the only “Law & Order” still on the air. USA’s “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” ended its ten-year run earlier this month. “Law & Order: Los Angeles” was axed by NBC after a year. The original “Law & Order” died last year after 20 years on the air.
With Chris Meloni leaving and Mariska Hargitay cutting her responsibilities, NBC has also brought in “Cold Case” veteran Danny Pino this fall. More in this press release.

With Meloni and Hargitay leaving, the death knell for SVU has now sounded; no one can un-ring that bell.
