TBS denies talks with Charlie Sheen in sitcom

Would you watch a new sitcom with Sheen?

Radaronline.com, which is hardly the most reliable source in news, said Charlie Sheen has inked a deal with production company Lionsgate Television for a new sitcom and is pitching it to networks, including Atlanta-based ‘front-runner” TBS.

A TBS spokeswoman put the kibosh on this rumor with this terse statement she emailed me just a few minutes ago: “TBS is not in discussions for a possible project with Charlie Sheen.”

Would a Sheen sitcom make any sense on a cable network? Could they even afford him? Is he such a trouble-maker that networks might shy away from him?

TMZ reports that Chuck Lorre, creator of “Two and a Half Men,” plans to kill Sheen’s character Charlie Harper off. Knowing how Lorre feels about Sheen, it won’t be pretty!

Let Charlie silently do his drugs and die in peace. Otherwise, I couldn’t care less.

If Charlie Sheen’s agent is smart, he would sign him for several multiple episodes story arcs on more than one shows with drama being the emphasis. A two part episode story arc on L&O:UK or L&O:SVU or possibly both would be interesting. A party animal celebrity is a suspect in an SVU case, but is innocent only to end up killing someone in the crown prosecutors office in England while DUI (i.e the aftershock episode in L&O). ABC and NBC would be crazy to give Sheen his own show, but they would be equally crazy not to find him a recurring role, a two part episode, or a multiple episode story arc on some show. Other ideas: A boyfriend of the blonde on Cougar Town, a lawyer/friend that went to law school and was a straight roomy of the gay lawyer on Modern Family, a now rich old college boyfriend of the female detective on Castle that is now an actor, or maybe a mayor or other major political figure on V that opposes them only to end up dead.

It’s time for self-destructive jerks like Sheen (and Lohan and…;and….) to simply fade from the media. It won’t happen since the public is dumb enough to love this, but there are far more legitimate artists deserving of our attention.

I have loved Charlie Sheen ever since the Breakfast Club in the 90s. He has stood against the Hollywood machine and told them where to go. Good for you, Charlie! TBS should give him the Braves slot next to Sienfeld. After all, after Kramer went crazy, they kept showing his show on TV. Keep it up, Charlie. We have not seen enough of you yet.

At this point, Charlie has been off the air for a while, and the market is, for sure, under-saturated with Charlie Sheen. There is nothing but upside, and the public is calling for more Charlie. TBS should step up and give him a long-term contract with some exposure on other TBS programming like Conan, Tyler Perry, or have him call a few innings with the Braves. Then his show will take off.

Charlie better get on the ball and get work soon. He’s in for $100,000.00 a month in alimony and child support for those two ex wives of his and the courts don’t care what his job situation is, it better get paid. Of course I guess he’s probably still making a killing in residuals for all the reruns of “2 1/2 Men”. Damn show is on 6 times a day. And for God sake, you’d think he’d use a little of his millions to get those disgusting rotten teeth of his fixed. What woman (hooker or not) would want to kiss that nasty mouth?

One takes a drug infested overpaid, oversexed, crazy man, put him in front of a camera, have him rant, rave, lie and accuse anybody and everybody in sight. Then you’ll have Pauline, who apparently has nothing better to do with her life than to want to watch this whiner on TV and want more? Is there any wonder why network TV is such a spiritual dessert? Pauline, professional help is available for you. Before long, you may need an entire team of psychiatrists to counteract what must be a drug induced insanity.

Come on people. . . these t.v. shows are not real. Do not attach the actor to the shows! You may not like Charlie’s actions but he is not the characters that he plays on t.v. This is too funny! It sounds like everyone is getting the entire Sheen famlily mixed up!

straight shooter, your aim is a little off (like many on this thread). Emilio Estevez (Charlie’s brother) played Billy the Kid in the Young Guns movies, not Charlie.

While Charlie HAS fallen off the deep end, there’s no denying the fact that he was instrumental in the success of “2 And A Half Men” and the show will never be the same (ratings-wise) without him. Chuck Lorre should just scrap the idea of replacing him and start over. (Jon Cryer’s character isn’t likeable enough to base the series on, either!)

Charlie Sheen was the funniest when he played the Beaver, on “Leave it to Beaver”. Of course, it was a short-lived show on a German Porn Cable station, but nonetheless, he was funny, man.

Those that keep pointing out that CS wasn’t in The West Wing, that poster seemed to making a joke. Jokes aren’t funny when explained, but cluelessness looks worse, so here…. The poster was making a comment on how old and haggard CS looks by confusing him with MS. Get over your cluelessness and need to show that your smarter than other posters…

As far as getting CS mixed up with other family members and actors, those posters are making the point that CS is replaceable and not that unique an actor. Again, not funny when it needs to be explained…
