Hines Ward winning

Georgia has its first “Dancing With the Stars” winner in Hines Ward, the second NFL player to win the mirror-trophy ball after Emmitt Smith.

“Starting this competition, I never thought I’d be in the finals,” Ward told host Tom Bergeron. The class act he is, he then thanked his dance partner Kym Johnson, the judges and fans.

While Pittsburgh held a big party for him, he also thanked the Bulldog Nation, too.

Ward may not have been as technically good a dancer as third-place finisher Chelsea Kane, but he combined heart, skill and determination into an unbeatable combo. His judges’ scores over two nights tied Chelsea with 89 out of 90. Runner-up Kirstie Alley had lower scores. Her fans helped her leapfrog Kane but not enough to beat Ward.

I, for one, believe that Chelsea was amazing. She was by far the best dancer and most entertaining and who wouldn’t want to look and move like her? She lost for one reason only – nobody really knew who she was. This is a popularity contest first and a dancing competition second. Hines was great too, congrats to him!

While I was watching the show last night I started thinking…. at this time who is the the most nationally recognized person that ever went to UGA? That would have to be HInes Ward I would imagine. Then I started thinking about would Ward ever consider coaching? If I were McGarity I would send a letter to Ward telling him basically if he ever wants to get into coaching then there is always a job at UGA no matter what. I bet Ward could be an awesome recruiter! I think he has head coaching skills as well. hint..hint.

Coingratulations to Hines. Although Chelsea had more technical expertise, Hines had more entertainment value. Please give Kirstie credit for her her tenacity and of course MAX who literally carried” her through ALL of her achievements. Notice after the somersault, he then grabbed her up. Max is a class act. He worked his A– off trying to make her look good. All in all it was a good season. I enjoyed it immensely!!

Hines should succeed Richt when the time is right. Who wouldn’t want to play for him?

The best dancer was clearly Chelsea. However, the judges judged her more critically than the other dancers because she was so much better. Just like AI, the fans play a large part in selecting the winner and it was hard to overcome the Steeler Nation. Len needs to retire because he clearly grades down people who come up with something modern or different. I liked Hines but he was not the best dancer.

Sher lock….You have to be stuck on stupid with your sarcastic remarks regarding Hines Ward whom I felt deserve to win and I felt Kristie was a very good dancer and I was very proud of her. Dumbo SHerlo, you didn’t out of respect to Kristie had to refer to her weight. What have you done lately accept spend most of your childhood in time-outs.

He didn’t deserve this at all. Chelsea had way better dancing talent. Ward just was stiff, and his partner did all the work. All season long, that is what happened. I predicted this from the start, I knew Heins would win. Am I happy about it? Of course not. Chelsea deserved to win. Not only is she a great dancer, but she has really improved, and, has shown her talent to the world.

So what if Mr. Ward is a football player? That doesn’t mean he’s right of the bat going to win, because he plays sports. Heins was boring to me. Stiff as a pole. Horrible dancer.

I’m really upset. I’ve watched this show all season long and I was really hoping that Chelsea would get it. Or even Kirstie, she deserved it as well.

I just can’t believe that Heins got perfect scores on one dance, while Kirstie did a kartwheel, and a handstand, and was lifted into the air a lot, yet, she only got, like, what, two tens? Maybe not even one?

All and all, I know Heins didn’t deserve it.

It is actually irrelevant Chelsea was the best dancer of the celebs. Good dancing actresses in Hollywod are dime a dozen . THe show is called Dancing with the STARS. Hines is a star in pro football. Kirstie is a star in hollywood. Chelsea is a Disney actress who is unknown outside her small niche and her career is very limited.

Also Kym Johnson is a legit part of the equation.
