TV best bets with season finales of ‘The Mentalist,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘The Office,’

This is one busy week for season finales. The major networks are finishing up their regular season, which was littered with even more freshmen flops and even fewer hits than normal.

The CW is finishing up most of their shows this week. So is CBS. Some aging shows are taking off for the summer, including NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU” Wednesday (12 seasons), ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” Thursday (seven seasons), NBC’s “The Office” the same night (seven seasons), the CW’s ‘Supernatural Friday (six seasons) and Fox’s “The Simpsons” Sunday (22 seasons!)

MONDAY

“90210” 8 p.m. the CW (third season finale) — The gang prepare for graduation but Naomi may not get her diploma.
“Chuck” 8 p.m. NBC (fourth season finale) — Will Vivian destroy Chuck and Sarah’s big wedding?
“Dancing With the Stars” 8 p.m. ABC — Can Ralph Macchio recover from injury?
House” 8 p.m. House — Thirteen has a friend with drug-related problem.
How I Met Your Mother” 8 p.m. CBS (sixth season finale) — Ted is the best man at a wedding that changes his life.
Mad Love” 8:30 p.m. CBS (first series finale) — Kate gets surprising news about her ex-boyfriend. CBS has canceled this show, along with “S$#! My Dad Says” and “The Defenders.”
Gossip Girl” 9 p.m. the CW (fourth season finale)  — Familiar faces return to town, including Georgina, Kati and Isabel.
Freedom Riders” 9 p.m. GPB — A recount of the fight to desegregate public transportation in the Deep South 50 years ago.
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” 9 p.m. Bravo (third season debut) — Welcomes two new housewives Kathy and Melissa, both related to Teresa.
Mike & Molly” 9:30 p.m. CBS (first season finale) — Mike is put on the spot when asked if he plans to marry Molly.
Hawaii Five-O” 10 p.m. CBS (first season finale) — Criminal mastermind Wo Fat is trying to destroy Five-O.
“Castle” 10:01 p.m. ABC (third season finale) — A hit man who has information about the murder of Beckett’s mother escapes.

TUESDAY

The Biggest Loser” 8 p.m. NBC — Two finalists are named.
Glee” 8 p.m. Fox — The kids prep for Nationals.
“NCIS” 8 p.m. CBS (eighth season finale) — The team members confront the Port-to-Port killer.
One Tree Hill” 8 p.m. the CW (eighth season finale) — Haley and Brooke get ready to operate Karen’s old cafe.
Dancing With the Stars” 9 p.m. ABC — Can name recognition (Kirstie Alley, Ralph Macchio) trump athleticism (Hines Ward) or youth (Chelsea Kane)?
“NCIS: Los Angeles” 9 p.m. CBS (second season finale)  — The team searches for Hetty.
Raising Hope” 9:01 p.m. Fox (first season finale) — The Chances recall the events the year Jimmy turned 18.
“Traffic Light” 9:31 p.m. Fox (series finale) — This show has been cancelled.
The Good Wife” 10 p.m. CBS (second season finale) — Alicia and Kalinda put aside their issues to prove a client is innocent of murder.
The Voice” 10 p.m. NBC — Atlanta’s Rebecca Loebe is among those dueling tonight.
“Tosh.0” 10 p.m. Comedy (third season summer debut) — Daniel Tosh is the hottest face of Comedy Central, at least among the younger set.

WEDNESDAY

“American Idol” 8 p.m. Fox — It’s now a dogfight among the two teen country crooners (Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina) and dark horse jazz singer Haley Reinhart.
America’s Next Top Model” 9 p.m. the CW (16th season finale)  — It’s Brittani vs. Molly.
Criminal Minds” 9 p.m. CBS (sixth season finale) — The team hunts for an interstate human-trafficking ring and J.J. returns.
Modern Family” 9 p.m. ABC — A comedy of errors happens before Alex’s middle-school graduation. And check out Jay’s “new” face.
Breaking In” 9:30 p.m. Fox (first season finale) — Contra tracks down a cyberbully at Cameron’s old high school.
“Law & Order: SVU” 10 p.m. NBC (12th season finale) — A rape-trial witness is murdered before she’s able to testify.

THURSDAY

American Idol” 8 p.m. Fox — Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent perform as three singers become two.
The Big Bang Theory” 8 p.m. CBS (third season finale) — Raj moves in with Sheldon after he hears Leonard and Priya doing a “Star Trek” bedroom fantasy..
Wipeout” 8 p.m. ABC (fourth season spring finale) — Engaged couples try to avoid breaking their necks.
Rules of Engagement” 8:30 p.m. CBS (fifth season finale) — Russell books a cruise he thinks is full of “red hot” young ladies but are actually older Red Hat Club ladies.
Bones” 9 p.m. Fox (sixth season finale) — Ryan O’Neal returns as Brennan’s dad.
Grey’s Anatomy” 9 p.m. ABC (seventh season finale) — Meredith’s dishonesty in a clinical trial puts her career in jeopardy.
The Mentalist” 9 p.m. CBS (third season finale) — Red John’s mole is revealed and Patrick Jane comes face to face with the serial killer.
The Office” 9 p.m. NBC (sixth season finale) — Guest stars galore to find a replacement for Michael Scott, including Ricky Gervais, James Spader and Jim Carey.
Private Practice” 10:01 p.m. ABC (fourth season finale) — The fate of Oceanside Wellness hangs in the balance.
Parks & Recreation” 10:30 p.m. NBC (third season finale) —  Tom makes a big life decision.

FRIDAY

“Friday Night Lights” 8 p.m. NBC — A car accident delays Julie’s return to college.
Kitchen Nightmares” 8 p.m. Fox (third season finale) — Another lousy restaurant Gordon Ramsay attempts to fix. It never gets easier.
“Flashpoint” 8 p.m. CBS — Gunmen prevent the team from reaching a bus accident.
Killer Outbreaks” 9 p.m. Animal Planet (first season finale) — Atlanta’s Centers For Disease Control has been in the spotlight every week.
Supernatural” 9 p.m. the CW (sixth season finale) — A demon kidnaps Ben and Lisa to get to Dean.
Bed Bug Apocalypse” 10 p.m. Animal Planet — Use of the word apocalypse is excessive, isn’t it?
Swamp Brothers” 10 p.m. Discovery— A gorilla needs dental work. Pour on the laughing gas!

WEEKEND

Chase” 8 tonight NBC (series finale) — Annie hunts for her dad and experiences flashbacks.
“It’s Me or the Dog” 9 tonight Animal Planet (third season finale) — This episode is called “calamitous canines” because it sure sounds great alliteratively.
Sinbad & the Minotaur” 9 tonight Syfy — Amazingly, this has nothing to do with stand-up comic Sinbad.
Saturday Night Live” 11:29 tonight NBC (36th season finale) — Justin Timberlake hosts.Lady Gaga sings.
America’s Funniest Home Videos” 7 p.m. Sunday Fox (21st season finale) — Even with YouTube, this show still draws an audience.
The 2011 Billboard Music Awards” 8 p.m. Sunday ABC — Ken Jeong hosts.
The Simpsons” 8 p.m. Sunday Fox (22nd season finale)— This show has been around longer than “America’s Funniest Home Videos”!
Celebrity Apprentice” 9 p.m. Sunday NBC (11th season finale) — John Rich seems to have an upper hand over Marlee Matlin so far in the finale.
“Family Guy” 9 p.m. Sunday Fox (ninth season finale) — Part three of the “Star Wars” satire trilogy.
Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost” 9 p.m. Sunday CBS — Tom Selleck is now on “Blue Bloods” but continues to play the much darker Stone in TV movies every year or so.
The Borgias” 10 p.m. Sunday Showtime (first season finale) — Pope Alexander, abandoned by his cardinals, crowns Charles in hopes that gesture and his humility will save his papacy.

love john rich on ‘celebrity apprentice’. the ‘house’ on monday was unreal and about the best episode ever. that show just gets better every season. i love FNL – sorry to see its the last season. saturday night live= NOT funny these days. getting a little tired of tosh.0. ready to try ‘alcatraz’, the latest offering from the ‘fringe’ producers
