V-103’s Elle Duncan moves yet again… back to the Ryan Cameron show

My inside sources were right on the mark: Elle Duncan’s foray into mornings was indeed short lived.
The V-103 host today re-joined Ryan Cameron’s afternoon show (2 p.m. to 6 p.m.).
It’s become a bit like a game of musical chairs.
Duncan was Cameron’s sidekick for several years until early 2009, when she was moved to mid-days, taking over for the now departed Porsche Foxx.
She lasted there for about 18 months before moving to the Frank & Wanda morning show where she did the sports and entertainment reports. Miss Sophia was out. But it was clear that this wasn’t the best arrangement. (Frank and Wanda’s producer Nina Brown, now at WXIA-TV, moved to Cameron’s show briefly before a tiff with Duncan last November led to her departure from the station entirely. Read about that here.)
When V-103 and Rashan Ali parted ways last week, Duncan moved yet again to replace her in afternoons after just ten months in mornings. Ali, too, is out of radio.

It’s obvious ELLE is the problem. I mean, how many talented professionals does V-103 need to lose before realizing this. She is not that attractive of a radio personality – as far as her attitude and such. She is annoying and monopolizes most conversations with her loud and abrasive demeanor. Ugh! I just dislike her.

I am so glad that Elle’s condescending/childish but is gone from the morning show. She never brought anything of value or substance to any of the shows on V103. She has been moved around on that station trying to make her fit in like a Catholic priest who messes with young boys gets moved in a cover-up. Commercial radio in Atlanta is a joke. They have overpaid buffoons as “on-air talent” and play the same 10 song prepaid (payola) playlists ever hour. Even if the songs are garbage, they will keep giving it spins because of payola. That’s why I and others like me are turning to satellite radio. If V103 really wanted to increase listeners to the station, they would do like the early days of the old HOT97. Back in those days they would have live DJ’s mix for HOURS at a time. At the least they should dedicate 15 minutes of every hour to a different live mix and not just at 12 or 5pm.

When the old HOT97 (now 107.9), first came on the air and was trying to distinguish itself separate from current radio, it used to have real DJ’s and NOT A PREPAID (PAYOLA) PLAYLIST OF THE SAME 10 SONGS EACH AND EVERY HOUR. V103 needs to bring on local DJ’s like DJ Kizzy Rock and DJ Goldfinger. Even when Frank Ski came on radio in Atlanta, he would do daily mixes. This is why some many people are turning to satellite radio. Some of us just want to hear music from our FM stations. If I wanted to listen to “Talk Radio,” I would turn to an AM station and listen to racists rednecks like Hannity, Limbaugh, and Boortz.

CatUsher, you been sniffing too much catnip or it’s WAAAAAAAAAAY over due for somebody to clean out your litter box. Your obviously missing the points people are trying to make about V103 and the rest of Atlanta radio. People are not “hating” on Elle the individual as much as what she represents for radio and the way she portrays other people. She COULD be alright if she would tone down the condescending attitude a bit, grow up, and become a little more informed about the subjects she speaks about before she spouts her opinion. Right now she is kind of like the “Black Sarah Palin” of radio: quick speak her mind without having a clue about what she is talking about.

Radio journals used to be mailed out to measure who was listening to what and when. Now there are PPMs (people meters). These same PPMs are rumored to have been behind the removal of Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine on FM. Now they are on AM – a signal that can only be heard in Downtown Atlanta or 10 min outside of zip 30303. This is to say the best way to let the station know that you aren’t just a small sampling is showing them solidarity in numbers and STOP listening. But don’t just STOP listening. Unfriend them on Facebook and stop following them on Twitter. Let Rick Caffey and Reggie Rouse know there are educated people (through books and/or life experiences) who do not appreciate being represented in such a negative way. But to top it all off, make sure you CC the bosses at CBS BLACK ROCK. Black Rock is located 51 W 52nd street and the corner of 6th Avenue in NYC. The folks at Blackrock are the money people who control the Rick Caffey’s of Atlanta. The big bosses are only doing what their Atlanta representative is telling them. They don’t know how we all feel. 212-975-4321 is the number for CBS News in NYC, ask them to transfer to Black Rock. Then make sure you get to the person in charge of CBS Radio Affiliates SouthEast. Look, get serious and make a difference. I already did it.

V103 sucks plain and simple, but they don’t care what a few people think or say on the blogs because their numbers are still number one across the board. Everyone down there has an ego and would/could not understand as to why someone would not want to listen to them since they are the “big dog” of Atlanta radio. Nothing will happen until people stop listening and start writing letters to complain! As for Elle, she is not going anywhere she got in good with Reggie Rouse and Ryan Cameron and those two would rather lose their jobs before they allow the “ever so talented Elle Duncan” to slip away from them. In their point of view her “beauty” makes them look and sound good. As for Frank and Wanda don’t whine too much about them or management will take them away and make Ryan and Elle the new morning show!!!

(Sidenote – what Frank does for kids and others in the community, commendable), But as far as being a morning host, NOTSOMUCH!! Wanda, REALLY?? She couldn’t make it as a comedienne, I don’t know how she wound up on radio. Crazy they still rank #1… I think its bull. Most folks I know can’t stand em’. Ryan is a Morning Drive Jock, He get’s ya going, Frank makes you want to turn the station. Wanda makes you want to vomit in your mouth a lil bit…jus sayin’

Elle really ain’t that bad. I think people are just tired of v103, but more importantly black radio in the metro-atlanta market as a whole. Considering that three of the four black morning shows in atlanta are “syndicated”, you could easily say that people are just tired of black radio all together. Clearly frank and wanda are beyond played out, but at least when you listen to them you feel like they live in your community. Even with rickey smiley and steve harvey both moving their home base to atlanta, i still feel like their shows don’t translate into “hometown” radio. Getting to my point, maybe black radio is just played out all together? I listen to Q100.

People know what you are talking about before you spout off on here. Rodney’s own ratings notes show that midday numbers went up with Elle on there, Frank & Wanda’s numbers went up when she went on there – even though F&W are terrible. Elle is a talent at V103 – they made a mistake moving her to mornings to try to help that trainwreck but now she is back where she belongs – with Ryan!

V103 SUCKS!!! If they would bring Porshe Foxx, Joyce Littell and Rashan Ali back and allow them to work in their regular spots….they will really have better ratings!! The MAIN reason V has #1 ratings is that they have the STRONGEST signal. What that means is that people in the outlying areas can actually hear them while trying to hear 97.5 or 104.1 becomes challenging in parts of Lawrenceville, McDonough, Snellville, etc… you can get 103.1 as far as Toccoa. That’s a strong signal. And when you are driving in traffic and you don’t have Sirius/XM, the only thing to drown out engines happens to be 103.1. So if this station is happy that their signal brings them to the #1 spot and not talent then shame on them for being lazy and not listening to the masses. Elle really isn’t that bad, she just doesn’t fit other than with Ryan. And looks wise, Rashan beats Elle any day of the week and we all know that. Ramona beats out Elle in looks as well. Elle is light skinned only, that does not a beauty make. Features are of the utmost importance. This is not about Elle being nice or not or picking out prom dresses, it is about giving jobs to those with talent period. There are plenty of unemployed jocks out here on the East Coast who are extremely talented but can’t seem to get back in because of management’s desire to hang on to those who otherwise should be gone. Salaries are also a factor. Elle is cheap, 100K+ cheaper than a Rashan or a Joyce Littel. And that’s real talk.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder bro. Elle is a beautiful sister whether she is light skinned or not. The numbers speak for themselves – middays up from when porsche was on there, numbers up on frank and wanda. V103 is all about money and if she wasnt making them some, she’d be gone.

@RealRadioScoop, V-103 is on the 103.3 frequency not 103.1. Another thing, V-103 is better programmed musically than 107.9, 104.1, and 97.5/107.5 that is another why they are still around. Trust me, I’m originally from Birmingham, where there was a station just like V with a strong signal that could be heard nearly 200 mile in any direction at night, but because of its sloppy programming it was annihilated by an Urban AC & Urban combo with fringe signals owned by Cox within 2 years. Cox Radio now rules the Birmingham radio market with those horribly programmed stations. However V, unlike that station, survived because it is a better programmed than all of those other stations competing with it because it isn’t segmented to one age group of urban music listeners. If it wasn’t for the musical programming evolving with the times, V-103 would have been gone.
In other words, I would rather listen to V-103 over anything owned by Cox or Radio One b/c those are “payola” and poorly programmed stations…

@TheWebsiteShop, V-103’s website is a mandatory format that CBS has for all its radio and TV stations using the WordPress template. All they are doing is following the corporate dictate, which CBS doesn’t play about at all with none of its properties…

I don’t catch the show much, but I did enjoy Elle’s flavor with sports. I heard Frank and Elle without Wanda one day and it was not a good listen. The decision might have already been in for Elle to move back so maybe they weren’t even trying. At least she is not pulling traffic duty like Rashan was. When Elle started she only did traffic in the AM and traffic and an occasional comment in the PM. So, she’s way beyond that now. If her next move is out the door, it will probably be because of a better move for her.

Wow. I didn’t realize Elle had so many people who disliked here. Frankly I liked here with Ryan best. I thought she did bring a young and less-biased approached to Frank & Wanda. Of course I’m 32 years old and in the age demographic that she likely appeals the most to which is why they don’t want to get rid of her since she has future appeal and followers.

Elle was too imature and thought she already knew everything. Its called the Frank and Wanda Show for a reason. Stop hating on Frank and Wanda, they are the best in Atlanta and the numbers prove it research your facts. You don’t have to listen to them listen to other stations that are less mature. Frank and Wanda do a lot for the communuity probably has helped some of you posting but you hate. Sad. Ryan is silly but he is good for what he does, again if you don’t like him don’t listen. These people have their own shows for a reason they have proven they can bring the listeners and more important the advertising dollars. Elle’s numbers have never been better than Porsche Foxxs. Both were number one but Porsche got a second chance b/c she was bringing in the advertisers. Elle is a joke who has gotten too big for herself. She is not compassionate, she is loud and condenscending. It shows her age but with age lets hope that she matures and it makes her a better woman. She has been given a great opportunity and instead of getting on a high horse she should use her opportunity to get better and help others. Period.

i liked elle with ryan but not with frank and wanda. actually, i’d rather see frank and wanda gone and someone young paired with elle. when i’m in the car in the mornings i’d rather listen to the bert show.
