TV best bets with return of ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ season finales of ‘Jersey Shore,’ ‘Fairly Legal,’ ‘Hot in Cleveland’

MTV's "Jersey Shore" wraps up season 3 Thursday night.

“Dancing With the Stars,” the most popular reality show not named “American Idol,” returns Monday night with a new cast for its 12th season, including Wendy Williams, Sugar Ray Leonard and Kirstie Alley.

And on Thursday, we bid farewell (for now) for the first season of USA’s light legal drama “Fairly Legal” and MTV’s insanely popular “Jersey Shore,” which averaged a fist-pumping 8 million viewers a week. (The crew is now off to Italy for season four.) MTV also says goodbye (probably forever) to “Skins” Monday.

Other shows whose seasons are ending include A&E’s “Intervention” (Monday), TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland” and Discovery’s “Man vs. Wild” (Thursday).

MONDAY

“Dancing With the Stars” 8 p.m. ABC (12th season debut) — Competitors include Sugar Ray Leonard, UGA alum Hines Ward and actress Kirstie Alley.
“Chuck” 8 p.m. NBC — Elle finds an alarming new hobby.
“House” 8 p.m. Fox — Cuddy confides with Wilson on her break-up with House.
How I Met Your Mother” 8 p.m. CBS — John Lithgow guests as Barney’s dad.
“Pretty Little Liars” 8 p.m. ABC Family (first season finale) — Spencer struggles to be supportive of her sister’s pregnancy because of Ian! .
“American Pickers” 9 p.m. History (third season debut) — The guys are invited to the Possum Trot, a down-home country auction.
“Intervention” 9 p.m. A&E (10th season finale) — Michael does drugs with his two sons.
Being Human” 9 p.m. Syfy — Syfy has given this drama a second season.
Skins” 10 p.m. MTV (first season finale) — Given the lackluster ratings, this will be likely be the series finale.
“Hawaii Five-0” 10 p.m. CBS — The crew figures out why a sci-fi fan is thrown out a hotel window.

TUESDAY
“The Biggest Loser” 8 p.m. NBC — An eliminated player returns.
“NCIS” 8 p.m. CBS — A teenager is accused of murdering his dad, a retired marine.
“Best in Film: The Greatest Movies of Our Times” 9 p.m. ABC — Results based on an on-line poll for best films, characters, screen couples and lines, to name a few.
Destination Truth” 9 p.m. Syfy (fourth season spring debut) — The team treks to Argentina to seek out the mysterious Ucumar beast.
“NCIS: Los Angeles” 10 p.m. CBS — A naval intelligence officer responsible for tracking a Venezuelan politician vanishes.
“Big Brian the Fortune Teller” 10 p.m. TruTV (new series) — Yet another show focused on antiques, this time with an estate sale supervisor.
Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen” 10 p.m. Syfy (new series) — The petulant, foam-loving “Top Chef” starts his own catering company.
Teen Mom 2” 10 p.m. MTV — Chelsea tries to study for her GED, but a new boy is a distraction.
Our America With Lisa Ling” 10 p.m. OWN (first season finale) — Ling follows people addicted to heroin.
The Good Wife” 10 p.m. CBS — The firm represents a drug lord in his divorce proceedings, though he’d like to reconcile.

WEDNESDAY
American Idol” 8 p.m. Fox — The Top 11 sing Motown.
“Survivor” 8 p.m. CBS — Phillip, the man with the pink underwear, tries to weaken Rob’s powerful alliance.
“Journey to the Earth’s Core” 9 p.m. History — What is life like way down there?
Modern Family” 9 p.m. ABC — Luke befriends a curmudgeonly gent, making Phil and Claire uncomfortable.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” 10 p.m. CBS — A serial killer likes to hang his victims.
Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files” 10 p.m. Syfy — The team looks into a possible military battle in Los Angeles that happened after Pearl Harbor.
Hot in Cleveland” 10 p.m. TV Land (second season finale) — Despite slipping ratings, TV Land gave this Betty White vehicle a third season.
Top Chef” 10 p.m. Bravo — Atlanta’s Richard Blais is close to victory again. Can he pull it off this time?
Justified” 10 p.m. FX — Raylan tries to protect Winona after she steals $100.
THURSDAY
“American Idol” 8 p.m. Fox — Atlanta’s Sugarland and Jennifer Hudson perform.
“Community” 8 p.m. NBC — Jeff plans a birthday party for Abed based on “Pulp Fiction.”
Grey’s Anatomy” 9 p.m. ABC — Richard wants Derek and Meredith to accept Adele into their Alzheimer’s trial.
Man vs. Wild” 9 p.m. Discovery (sixth season finale) — A global survival guide episode, including finding water in a desert.
The Office” 9 p.m. NBC— Michael pops the question to Holly.
“30 Rock” 10 p.m. NBC – TGS goes on hiatus so people seek temp jobs. Aaron Sorkin guests.
Fairly Legal” 10 p.m. USA (first season finale) — Kate tries to settle a score between two brothers at the Croatian embassy.
“Jersey Shore” 10 p.m. MTV (third season finale) — Whither Sammi and Ronnie? And isn’t that the same plot every week?

FRIDAY
“Kitchen Nightmares” 8 p.m. Fox — Gordon Ramsay checks out Cafe Tavolini, an Italian eatery in Bridgeport, Conn.
“LSU at Georgia” 8 p.m. ABC — This baseball game pre-empts regular ABC programming. “Shark Tank” airs at 3 p.m. Saturday instead.
Who Do You Think You Are?” 8 p.m. NBC — Steve Buscemi unearths information about possible rogues in his past.
Beast Hunter” 9 p.m. NGC (first season finale) — The host tracks down a Mongolian death worm in the Gobi desert.
“Fringe”
9 p.m. Fox — Life in the alternative universe gets rough for Olivia.
Confessions: Animal Hoarding” 10 p.m. Animal Planet (first season finale) — A recovering addict becomes a big collector of rats and reptiles instead.

Scream of the Banshee” 9 p.m. Saturday Syfy — A Celtic she-beast torments modern-day victims.

Norm Macdonald: Me Doing Stand-Up ” 11:30 Saturday Comedy Central — Macdonald, best known for his days on “SNL,” waxes wise about cheese sandwiches, sex and serial killers.
Martha Stewart Presents: Men Who Make Us Laugh” 8 p.m. Sunday Hallmark — Stewart interviews Conan O’Brien and Seth Meyers.
“The Amazing Race” 8 p.m. Sunday CBS — Kynt and Vyxen stumbled around the last leg but still managed to survive.
Alaska State Troopers” 9 p.m. Sunday NGC (second season finale) — A prostitution ring is set up in a remote village populated by fewer than 200 people.
Celebrity Apprentice” 9 p.m. Sunday NBC— Gary Busey won as project manager last week despite team friction.
