Minnie Driver will be in Atlanta next week to shoot a CBS pilot for an hour-long drama currently named “Hail Mary.”
She will star as a suburban single mom who teams up with a street-smart hustler (played by Brandon T. Jackson) to solve crimes.
Others who have gotten roles: “Without a Trace” star Enrique Murciano as her boyfriend and character actor Stephen Tobolowsky (who played the “Glee” music teacher before Will Schuester) as a private detective.
Though the pilot is based here, there is no guarantee it will stay here if it gets picked up. And odds of getting on air are tough since CBS is the top-rated network and has the fewest holes to plug among the major networks.
Driver, 41, was last seen on a regular TV series ini FX’s “The Riches,” which lasted two seasons in 2007 and 2008 and also starred Eddie Izzard. She received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for playing a Traveller pretending to be an upscale suburbanite.
