Ramona DeBreaux officially named mid-day jock at V-103
Loading ...Ramona DeBreaux has been doing mid-days for V-103 continuously for weeks so this announcement should come as no surprise: she is now the official mid-day jock, replacing Elle Duncan.
The spot has been open since last summer when Duncan was moved to the Frank & Wanda morning show. V-103 tried out a few different people, including former mid-day host Osei the Dark Secret and even Al B Sure, the R&B singer. But DeBreaux, who had been doing traffic for Frank & Wanda since 2008, kept rising to the top of the list. She had already been the mid-day host at Hot 107.9 for several years before being let go in 2007.
“Ramona’s a veteran,” said V-103 Program Director Reggie Rouse. “She does great community appearances. She knows the market. She’s a great-sounding jock.”
In recent weeks, with DeBreaux exclusively handling mid-day duties, this announcement was nothing more than a formality.

Ramona, I am so happy for you! You have been working CRAZY since the Porcha(sp) Foxx incident. When you got passed up for the position the first time in favor of Elle, I was keeping you in my thoughts. NOW IS YOUR TIME, GIRL! CONGRATS, CONGRATS!

True haters on Elle. Elle does a great job but it’s always the haters that are so jealous…they can’t see past the green envy. But anyway…CONGRATS Ramona!!! I don’t tend to listen to the radio in the afternoon (prefer cd’s at work), however, I will make it a point to tune into you. LOL

They should have done that in the first place!!! I could barely deal with Elle alongside Ryan (whom I love.) I never understood, and almost contacted the station about it on GP. Good for her.

I personally don’t like Ryan in the morning spot. Ryan is extremely talented and engaging but him, Wanda, and Elle amount to way too much giggling and laughing. Not what I’m looking for, first thing in the morning. I’m more serious looking for engaging news and discussion. What happened in the world while I was a sleep? Frank is the best they have at doing this. He may come across as arrogant but of all V103’s DJ he can offer the most incite into serious issues. As stated before this may come across as a father figure. Now once my day is winding down Ryan and his funny antics are perfect in the afternoon. Personally I think that’s the perfect mix for the #1 urban radio station in Atlanta. Not 24/7 gossip, joking, and laughing. Stimulate some brain cell at some point in the day. Oh and congratulation Ramona.

WTG Ramona…u give me a reason to turn my radio back on….with my new location I am limited in the stations I can get.. i use to listen to V103 until Elle came on the morning show…now I am forced to listen to Tom Joyner (ugh)…I didnt care for Elle with Ryan and definitely dont like on the morning show…sorry if I sound like a hater but it is what it is…..again congrats Ramona and good luck…

Congrats to Ramona DeBreaux! God made a way and he has blessed you in due time for the spot! Now on to line-up, Frank, Wanda, and Elle are fine in the morning. As RTClean said, V-103 has to offer a variety of music and personality throughout the day so that people will feel they are living up to their brand-name “V(ariety) 103″. A well-rounded crew with a little humor in the morning, a relateable personality in the midday, personable yet informed personalities in the afternoon, a personality that knows the hip-hop and local music scene at night, and slow jams during the late nights. It sounds like a well-programmed station to me. Hence, why I keep my radio locked on 103.3 because it fits for me, young professional that likes current and old school hip-hop, R&B, and other urban music.
I believe if Ryan Cameron wanted morning then he could easily get them, but he has a young family that he wants to spend time with while he cans. However as Rodney Ho said, he makes “morning money” in the afternoon with a schedule that fits his other professional and person obligations.

Its about time..Congrats Ramona..Sorry about the Steelers..Now can V-103 give Bubby Love some love and lock him down on overnights or something..Just saying….Hey V..what does the research say about moving Ryan to mornings…With the economy picking back up thats more profit in your corporate pocket..Give Ryan “Frank” money and get a good afternoon drive personality..Thats 500-750K in savings per year..

Great that they hired from within sometimes companies feel that they have to hire from the outside and overlook the great talents that they have that working for them. She is a great talent and she deserves this. She is doing and will be doing a great job.
