CNN’s Kyra Phillips and Fox News’ John Roberts welcomed twins early this morning.
The names: Sage Ann, 5 pounds 15 ounces, and Kellan Clay, also 5 pounds, 15 ounces.
A statement from Kyra:
“Sage came out with her arms open wide ready for a hug. Kellan came out feisty – ready to conquer the world! It doesn’t get much better than that.
For John and me, we now have everything we could ask for.”
Roberts, a long-time CBS correspondent, spent five years with CNN, most recently at “American Morning” as a host in New York. In January, the 54-year-old Canadian native moved to Atlanta to be a correspondent for Fox News.
Phillips, 42, has been with CNN since 1999 and anchors the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. news program.

I think Phillips’ producer surely must have had something to do with this. I suggest launching an investigation.

…but a 54 year old dad and a 42 yr old mom – what were they thinking – obviously he was thinking with his little head, but the mom? She will be lucky to live to see them graduate from high school – and that is just wrong…but, best of luck to them – kids are GREAT (most of the time)…

Hey Carla,
It’s not “old school” to believe in marriage first. It’s just the right thing to do. Too bad our culture has lost sight of that.

@ Daryl-Atlanta: No doubt the older CNN new moms are receiving fertility doctor assistance; hence the high number of twins. I’m certainly not saying anything against fertility clinic assistance; it is a Godsend to many couples young and old, who really, really want to have children, but just otherwise have been unable to do so.

Good for you Hannmack! As for “Is It Just Me” – well, yeah it probably is. Since the average age of Americans is up in the late 70’s or so these days, they should have plenty of years to spend with their kids. There are lots of advantages to being older parents; try not to be so closed-minded. Have a nice day…

Re: John -
Yep, fertility docs for sure! We have an amazing supply of them here in the ATL. I should know – my husband and I probably single-handedly put my doctor’s daughter through Yale. And we’d do it all again, if we had to in order to have our amazing little family.

I love how the rich use fertility doctors to give them the type and number of babies they want. Not what nature intended.

SO we have a CNN News ANCHOR that is a BABY MAMA.
and a FOX NEWS ANCHOR is a BABY DADDY –
I noticed that nothing is said about them being married – or in a relationship. — nor about them being together as a couple. When is the WEDDING?
An article about anyone else – would be full of critique about unwed mothers – especially from Frox News.

Wow Traci, your out of line. Fox people get upset at abortion, they are not against unwed families , gays, lesbians etc etc. They also don’t spew nonsense at people they don’t agree with as you did.
If you watched it you would know that and if you don’t watch it you shouldn’t just listen to what you hear others say.
Have a nice night.

Save on the divorces by having children out of wedlock after freezing eggs/sperm while you solidify the careers. Are morals and values just totally out the window, with the bath water.

The children are indeed a blessing. I am happy for the parents. I am not thinking that the parents should be “married”, but if they are not, then this is another indication that the conventional married requirement that society thinks should be for parents is indeed eroding. Perhaps that requirement is no longer of value. Perhaps we should look at whether the two parents are going to take responsibility for the children and raise them to value both parents as both parents take responsibility for the children and the emotional and financial needs of the children..

Older women have more twins naturally because of hormonal changes. And my grandmother had her last baby at 47. Gram lived to the ripe old age of 89, so not only was she able to see her children grow up, but her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she died, she had two great-great grandchildren, with a couple more on the way.
Congradulations to Kyra and John. Those are two beautiful babies–enjoy them and get all the sleep you can. You’re going to need it!

You have not responded. From the names we are all guessing Fraternal twins. Can yo get back and confirm Boy and Girl. It is sometimes hard to tell with some of the names these days. I love the name TRISTAN from the movie Legends of the Fall. It has been used for males TRISTAN and females TRISTEN. That is why I ask. The children are beautilul. May they be Blessed and never have to deal with any family member of NeNe, Star Jones, or Dionne Warwick.

A DEM working for CNN? How can that be possible? ROTFLMAO. The only Republicans at any Turner company are the off air talent that don’t write or produce the CRAP Turner puts on the air. You do know Turner started his business in the Tree Killing BILLBOARD Business don’t you? His son BEAU is married to Teresa HEINZ Kerry daughter. Mr. Heinz was far very far from a Democrat too.

You turned out just fine except you are a DAWG and you were giving it away in Athens too cheap back in the day to find a Husband. Sweetie You will be 62 when your child is graduating college. Do you expect that child to pay off college loans and change your diapers too? Try adopting an AMERICAN CHILD about 6 years old. You will be right back on track minus the man.

They are “fiancees” per People magazine. It’s alright for the self-described righteous republicans to have babies out of wedlock as long as they call themselves “fiancees.” Right, hypocrites Mel Gibson and Bristol Palin.
