Another week, more Rihanna’s ‘What’s My Name?’ on Atlanta radio

imagesFive weeks, Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?” topped Atlanta radio by a massive margin again. It’s been on top for five weeks and remains a top song at V-103, Hot 107.9, Wild 105.7 and Q100.

Wiz Khalifa’s hit “Black & Yellow” is rising, up 36 spins week over week. Keri Hilson’s “Pretty Girl Rock,” now a top spun song on Hot, breaks into the top 10.

New songs on various radio stations:

Hot 107.9: After massive shifts a week ago, this week not much happened.

V-103: “Where You At’ by Jennifer Hudson, spun four times since Tuesday. “Meet Me in the Tunnel” by Mo Pain has gotten five evening and overnight spins since Jan. 22. “Words” by Bobby V was spun 17 times. Ciara’s “Turn It Up” is new with 8 spins.

Wild 105.7: No new adds. “Black & Yellow” swapped out with Nelly’s “Just a Dream” among the station’s top 5 songs. Nicki Minaj’s “Moment 4 Life” gets a big boost from 6 spins to 42. Mann’s “Buzzin” jumps from 11 to 60 spins. New Boyz’s “Back Seat” goes from 8 to 37 spins. Songs that took big dips: Black Eyed Peas’ lame “This Time” from 43 to 2 spins and Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream’ from 56 to 18 spins. Nelly fell from 84 to 20.

Q100: Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” and Avril Lavigne’s “What the Hell.” The station pushed Pink off the top perch from 93 to 62 spins, replaced by Enrique Iglesias‘ “Tonight” (40 to 88.) Two weeks in, Britney Spears‘ “Hold It Against Me’ is now being spun 58 times, already near top rotation.

Star 94: Mumford & Sons ‘Little Lion Man,’ The Script “For the First Time’ (Songs dropped: Michael Buble’s “Hollywood” and The Ready Set’s “Love Like Woe”)

Kicks 101.5: Easton Corbin’s “I Can’t Love You Back,” The Band Perry’s “You Lie.” (Songs that lost airplay: George Strait’s “The Breath You Take” and Easton Corbin’s “Roll With It”)

94.9/The Bull: Ashton Shepherd’s “Look It Up”

Project 9-6-1: none

Star just picking up Little Lion Men and having Bruno Mars’ Just the Way You Are at #1 – they need to do some catching up!

Star 94 is like one of those theatres where you go to see a movie for $2. The movies been out a while, but what the heck…

The fact that she’s supposedly #1 again shows how badly the music business has fallen because she is a horrid talent. She can’t sing or dance,Rihanna is someone that gullible people have sympathy for.Frankly,I’m sick of gimmicks like her.Give me Anthony David/Algebra any day of the week..Bring me some Soul singers!!

MyViewIs you are so right. ChrisetteMichele, MelanieFiona, JazmineSullivan can actually sing but because they do not sell sex and sensationalism the media pays does not pay them any attention.

@ True…I so agree.I love all the singers you mentioned and I thought it was a shame that a true talent like Jazmine stated she was retiring because unfortunately as talented as she is,she is not promoted just as Melanie Fiona,Chrisette Michelle aren’t either as well as others.I heard a new song by Anthony David/Algebra on WRFG -89.3 and it was fiyah!

I also love Ceelo but atleast he’s a big world artist with real talent.I resent the way Rihanna is pushed on Black radio and the thing that had me laughing was that she was referred to as as “soul singer” and it’s all because DEF JAM pays off stations to play her music even though she’s “supposedly a pop singer” but they push her on us because she can’t compete with Lady GaGa/Taylor Swift/Britney Spears or even Beyonce.I like Beyonce but I’m somewhat sick of her because her music is not deep,it’s too generic but I do feel she has talent just no substance….
