‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ recap, episode 15: Unwelcome to Miami?
“Slaves don’t get paid, dumb***.” – Sweetie, in response to NeNe’s criticism.
If NeNe Leakes’ goal was to cause more people to hate her, the past two episodes have worked like a charm.
The drama last week instigated by NeNe for what appeared to be no apparent reason continues in episode 15. After they arrive in Miami, NeNe is still angry at Kim Zolciak.
“I’ll toss you out the window!” Nene says. Then she inexplicably adds, “You need to have a conversation like an adult!” Later, she threatens: “I will snap your neck and pop your eyeballs out.”
Loading ...For the first time, all six cast members are in the same place at the same time for the cameras.
Sheree Whitfield, Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks fly down to Miami for the bachelorette party before Cynthia gets married. They meet Kandi Burruss, Kim and NeNe at Kim’s buddy and Miami entrepreneur Thomas Kramer’s mansion. They are shocked that Kim and NeNe are at it again.
“Looks like we’re at the ultimate fight challenge,” Phaedra says. “There is so much madness!”
NeNe’s justification: “I’m sort of like chastising a child. You get down to their level.”
“I’m going to pretend this nightmare isn’t happening,” Kim says later. (Easier said than done.)
Kandi explains to the other ladies NeNe’s accusation from last week’s episode that Kim’s paid assistant Sweetie is being treated like a “slave.”
While Kandi thought Kim’s treatment of Sweetie wasn’t particularly good, she wasn’t going to go there. Sheree says, quite reasonably: “Sweetie is a grown woman. If she wants to get paid and get talked to any crazy way, that’s her problem.”
NeNe isn’t buying that argument. “I don’t care how much you get paid… she may as well take a chain and drag her.”
This drama, instigated 100% by NeNe, leads to Kim’s very lucid observation: “If it’s not about NeNe, she can’t f****** handle it!” (I said lucid, not eloquent.)
Kramer’s “Morocco meets the zoo” motif (as my wife called it) raises eyebrows. But his jovial demeanor is welcomed after all the tension. And his flirtatious banter with Kim is amusing. Could he be a “Big Poppa” in training? Since she’s now preggers with Kroy Biermann’s child, probably not.
Evil NeNe rears her ugly head when Kramer introduces himself. “I’m so surprised you’re friends with her.” That was quite mature, eh?
NeNe considers staying in a hotel, but Kandi convinces her to stay. (I’m sure NeNe knew if she wanted more camera time, she had to stay!) So she invites her friend Diana to join them since Don Juan, Sweetie and Lawrence, Sheree’s hairdresser, stop by as well, precluding the original idea that this would be just a weekend with the six girls – not counting the camera crew, producers, makeup artists and hairdressers, of course.
After Kim and Kandi perform for a third and final time on this promo tour at an outdoor Miami venue, Kim thanks Kandi’s road manager Don Juan. (They did not get along on the bus, especially in the early going.) Even Kandi, while relieved it’s over, deems it a success.
All is not well at lunch. NeNe mouthes off, leading Kim to say, “Cheers, b****!”
“Watch those B-words or you might end up in the ocean,” NeNe says, resorting to threatening words yet again.
Cynthia, in the meantime, is trying not to stress about her upcoming nuptials. Sadly, she cracks when Kandi asks her innocently about a honeymoon. She cries and has to leave to the bathroom to compose herself. She explains how Uptown Restaurant & Lounge had shut down and that they are scrounging around for money.
To the cameras, Kandi and Kim both think the wedding should be delayed. (That’s the same advice NeNe and Cynthia’s sister gave her last week.)
“She calls herself the runaway bride,” for cutting out on previous fiances, says the ever quotable Phaedra. “It looks like she’s ready to run away again.”
Cynthia considers leaving early. NeNe agrees. Phaedra is peeved. “I think Cynthia follows behind NeNe like a puppy dog,” she says.
“You ungrateful b****!” Sheree says later to the camera. “We all flew down. Get over it. Get out from under NeNe’s arse and woman up!” She convinces Cynthia to stay.
Later, everyone relaxes as Lawrence does funny impressions of all the ladies. Cynthia even loosens up. Then the strippers arrive. Phaedra’s clients, she says. “I’m happy we’re finally enjoying ourselves,” Phaedra concludes later. “I’m sorry it took this long to do it.”

Lawrence, Sheree’s hairdresser, said he didn’t think so.
“He was kind of hot,” RuPaul said. “She looked hot in that episode.”
About Kim and Sweetie, Lawrence said their relationship isn’t based on race. “They’re good girlfriends. Sweetie at the end of the day is grown. If she has a problem with how anybody speaks to her, she’d step up to the plate.”
RuPaul said NeNe has her own internal saboteur “poisoning her relationships.I hope she sees this and needs to work through her saboteur.”
“Kim has great potential to be a great artist. She’ll never be a great singer.” – Lawrence, about Kim.
Just as Lawrence dismissed Dwight Eubanks, Sheree makes a surprise appearance.
“Totally out of line,’ she said, of NeNe.
RATINGS
Another boffo week in the ratings for “Real Housewives of Atlanta” for episode 14 on January 16: 3.27 million viewers, just a smidge down from last week’s peak and the second biggest number this season. Last season, there were only 13 episodes so there is no comparison year over year. Season three is now pulling in higher ratings than season two.
PROMOS FOR NEXT WEEK
Gregg is back trying to make up with NeNe. There are problems at the wedding as Peter gets drunk and Cynthia looks distraught. We see everyone at the Fernbank wondering: will she or won’t she come down the aisle?

i agree completely with nene about next season. i don’t know if she won’t be on but i won’t be watching. these chicks are ALL EMBARRASSING the female gender!!! i can’t figure any of them out because they are immature and delusional. did nene overstep and overreact with all the anger? sure she did, but i totally understand it as i am disgusted with sweetie myself. i don’t recall one time that sweetie stood up for herself against all of kim’s below the belt drama, name calling, and disrespect. being an adult is not a good reason to allow yourself to be treated that way nor is a paycheck. i also don’t ever recall sweetie using bitch as kim’s first name in response to kim referring to her that way as a “friend” would be allowed to do. because sweetie doesn’t it indicates the relationship the have and it’s not friends since kim signs the checks. she’d be better off in the self respect department cleaning toilets than to let her “friend” kim speak to her the way she does. i never had any doubt before about kim being a tramp based on big poppa and the football boy out of nowhere she’s pregnant by, but her actions towards the host were repulsive. there is no value to kim unless she’s spreading her legs for any and every man she comes in contact with. kandi was every bit as angry on the bus as nene, but she was willing to let nene handle her business and let nene take the fall. she’s weak and talks much smack at the camera but never puts kim in her place to kim’s face. IMHO sheree in her supposed acting and designing and kandi in her singing, as talents are every bit as delusional as kim is in her ability to sing. why oh why do the keep insisting they have talent?? i cna never tell when kandi changes songs because they all sound alike and like kim’s.
as for the “friendships” and i use the term loosely these women are NOT FRIENDS in any sense of the word. they are drama queen backstabbers, each and every one of them with the exception of cynthia. she seems to be in a world of her own and doesn’t notice all the behind her back digs. i think true friends would have not insisted that she stay in miami for their benefit when they saw how miserable she is. but because they had to keep inserting the knife into nene’s back they made it about her instead of what cynthia needed. cynthia needed to spend some time alone to think and make realistic decisions about her problems. again she doesn’t seem to be reality based and i do NOT believe she needs to marry peter the control freak. she will not be better off as his wife since they’re not partners, he’s her boss and she doesn’t deserve the way he treats her which he only apologizes for when he feels threatened that she’s had enough and may walk away. and the way these FAUX friends put down her body in the fashion show was beyond friendless and nonsupportive.

This show is a fine example of women who have no honor,no morals,and are spiritually bankrupt.
It helps it’s viewers reinforce their dysfunctional behavior,screwed up way of behaving as a female.
Women were put on this earth to be teachers,nurturers of families and children.
They were put on a pedestal,respected,protected.
Today women watch football,drive tractor trailers,put criminals in handcuffs.
The media,our government,and Hollywood have done a good job fooling them,lying to them to make them think that living a hectic,train wreck,morally bankrupt lifestyle is the way to live.
They got their heads so screwed up they don’t know whether they want a man (normal) or a woman (abnormal).
Women who watch this show,live like this are too stupid to realize they have lost their worth a a lady.
And they wonder why their lives are helter skelter,don’t know how to get what they want,wind up living a poor quality of life,while setting a horrible example for their children.

This must have been a marathon of the show because I fell asleep when I tuned in and when I woke up at 6am it was still on. I read the blogs because I didn’t see any of the show except when they were fighting on the bus. The crazy thing is, that the other housewives shows are the same as this one. I started to watch the Beverly Hills Housewives show, and they were arguing and fighting the same as this show, so I immediately changed the channel. Someone is making money off of women fighting on tv, and it will probably continue as long as people watch them.

Although NeNe’s argument was fair, she should have been the bigger person and not invited Diana. In the end I agree that NeNe has some control issues and she needs to handle that before she loses more than a husband and a few friends.
I too am disgusted with the way Kim talks to Sweetie, but if Sweetie rather have the money and fame instead of self respect that is her choice. Kim, is IGNORANT. I mean what is her real claim to fame, finding rich men and getting knocked up to get that check. I just want her to go away.

That’s entertainment, I believe NeNe would have left TK’s Mansion but was prompted to stay by the producers of Bravo via Khandi. I think Kim talk’s to all females she comes in contact with by calling them the “B” word if they have this certain persona about themself, she never calls Cynthia, Khandi, nor Sheree but you just have to put Kim in her place, once she realizes you don’t flow like that she will respect that. Sweetie as I previously stated most likely ex-stripper, the way she carries herself is awful clothes too small, makeup is hideous but she has some connections with Kim’s daughters they really like her. I believe Sweetie keeps her feelings on the inside she realy wants to tell Kim or wish she didn’t speak to her in such a manner but because she is getting so many perks such as travel, TV time she takes the crap off of Kim so I really don’t feel sorry for her at all she know what she is up against. NeNe was wrong, she knows how to create drama that is what she does and it keeps the show in good rating for that I’m not mad at her but she needs to find a better way to channel the drama. “Smooches”

it’s a show people, i guess many of you believe the soap operas are real as well or the batman, superman, etc. Hell, even Jerry Springer is still on and no one comments about that show. The show is scripted, again scripted!! Come on, the show is recorded during the summer have you not seen the cast making public appearances since shooting stopped? With NeNe, it is like running into a double edged sword (the way it is wil everyone). I do think that NeNe should have let Kim tighten the noose around her own neck and not said a word. Kim did blow it ALL out od proportion when she (NeNe) brought her (Kim) up in the interview with Jermaine Dupri. Yes, NeNe should have asked Kim’s permission before she referenced her, but, since she didn’t, Kim should have saw the angle that NeNe was going in. It was not to make fun of her, but to ask Jermaine’s professional opinion if he feels that working with a new artist is easier when they are in their twenties in opposed to their thirties. Second, Kim knows how to push NeNe’s buttons and NeNe knows that Kim will do that at every available opportunity. That’s when NeNe should have sat back, shut up, and let Kim hang herself out to dry (wig and all). The entire Kim/Sweetie relationship bothers me, as well. No employer (even if you are a personal assistant to someone) should treat and talk to someone the way that Kim talks to Sweetie. But, since Sweetie sits back and takes it, then, who the hell am I to say otherwise. NOW as for Kim calling Diana a “hawk”, that was TOTALLY uncalled for!!! Diana should have called her a low down, dirty, chimp with a matted wig on. That would have shut her up. But, as far as I could see, Diana took the WOMAN route and didn’t entertain Kim. Enough about that mess. I am glad that Phaedra has come around. It seems that since the birth of Ayden, she calmed down and has turned into a likable lady. As always, Kandi was the professional, but it was funny to see her get into Kim and Sweeetie’s ass!!! I think that Cynthia should have taken NeNe and Malorie’s advice (which was echoed by some of the ladies) about delaying the wedding. It is apparent that she and Peter love one another. But, putting the wedding off for a few weeks (or a few months) is not a deal breaker. What can I say about Sheree, other than Sheree being….Sheree. The portion when she was leading the workout in Miami was HILARIOUS!!! Not on her part, but on NeNe’s. That was comical. But, I think that Sheree was out of line calling Cynthia an ungrateful…..female dog. I really felt for Cynthia who had the weight of the world on her shoulders with the wedding. A distraction is only that. A distraction…. for a moment. When you wake up in the morning, you still have this enormous debt looming over your head.
Now, this is what I am going to say. Love them, or hate them, with the ratings, millions watch them. If you are “disgusted” by the show, TURN THE FREAKIN’ CHANNEL TO FOR 5 AND WATCH THE NEWS!!!!!

NeNe is friends with Kim as long as Kim is not in the spotlight. Last season she was fine with her until she made the hit record and now the horns are popping up again because Kim has another song. She hates that Kim is no longer under her control or that she’s not miserable like her. AND when Diane said she’s drama-free, I almost flipped out of my chair. She is full of drama with those twin boys by a married, high-profile lawyer. Phaedra is hilarious with her unruffled, southern belle act. She didn’t get to where she is being a dummy. Believe that.

I love this show and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I watch television to be entertained and these women don’t disappoint. And for the record I have a life and a good one at that. Cynthia strikes me as a woman who is in love with the concept of “the wedding”. There are too many red flags for her to marry Peter. However, I did feel sorry for her. I’ll give their marriage two years. I agree with Kim when she said that NeNe can’t handle not being the center of attention. Phaedra is hillarious.

OK…I have come to the conclusion that NeNe is a big man! She is the most ignorant, arrogant, stupid, ghetto woman ever to grace reality TV. I mean how do you invite your friend to a place where you are a guest? And speaking of Diana, how does she get offended and tell Kim that she is not going anywhere? Um sorry boo boo but all Kim had to do was make one call to Thomas Kramer and you would have been kicked out the house a long time ago. Two does she have a real job? What does she do? How can you just come to Miami at the drop of a hat and hang with the moose?
Next, I don’t know why and I’m probably going to hate myself for it later but Phaedra is becoming my favorite housewife. She is hilarious! As Rodney has stated “she’s so quotable.” I just wish she would lay off the lip gloss.
Thirdly, I wish Cynthia would woman up on the show, but after reading her blogs on bravotv online I see that she is a very witty and confident lady. I guess the camera gives people certain roles to play but geesh she is like an infant getting breastfed when it comes to NeNe.
Kim, sometimes she rubs me the wrong way but this episode she was absolutely correct in all her observations concerning the moose. And I agree with Sheree if Sweetie doesn’t mind getting talked to that way no one else should mind either. Speaking of Sheree, she has been looking so beautiful on the confessionals, shout out to her make up artist lol. Kandi has been a bore to me this season but I guess it’s because she’s out of her element.

Cynthia is an extremely attractive and sexy woman.The swim wear show revealed that she does not have a gut , inner thighs that touch , her waist is slimmer than her breast and hips/behind , she has no fat on her back or the back of her arms etc.
She is not overweight , pudgy , swollen , out of shape or “thick” like most black women who think ” they got it going on” when in fact they are overweight , unattractive and unhealthy: Nene , Kandi , Sweetie etc. and most , not all , black women in this country. Did you see Nene when the girls were working out on the patio.She lifted her shirt and was gyrating like she “had it going on”. A classic example of the flawed self perception that many black women have. They think they are hot and sexy when in fact they are fat and out of shape. She could barely breathe after doing her” sexy” dance.
It was very refreshing to see a physically fit attractive black woman on the show for the nation to see. Bravo thanks for finally depicting a black woman in a fit , healthy , truly sexy light.In that respect and others Cynthia is truly a model.
BLACK WOMEN obesity and being overweight is not attractive. You may think that it is b/c men still pursue you and have sex with you.A mans sex drive compels him to do so notwithstanding your appearance not because of it.

NeNe or HeHe is the biggest bully I have ever seen. Bottom line is that she is straight jealous of Kim’s career (sic) as an artist (double sic). I really don’t want to believe anyone can be that ignorant, or that she really has any “friends”. She is a miserable freaky looking hunk of a big moose, and I really feel sorry for her. Her friend Diane is a straight loser and should have been shown the door. There is one big common denominator in all of the drama and it is definitely HeHe.
Sheree is starting to act human and regular…I’m starting to like her and that kind of scares me. Phaedra is still a mess, but a bit more likeable. Lawrence’s impersonations (especially Kandi’s) were a riot! Anyone who takes this for anything more than mindless entertainment is missing the point. This isn’t real…it’s acting and made up drama. I would like nothing more than for Kim to actually pimp slap HeHe and run like a mofo. HeHe is poison..a deadly human cancer who wants others to be miserable like herself. Sweetie is basically Kim’s smoking buddy and paid flunky. If Sweetie is okay with how Kim’s talks to her…it’s no one else’s biz.

I just saw NeNe photo for the Apprentice and I thought I thought I was looking at an advertisment for bras at Victoria Secrets. Attytom please. Folks kill me talking about they have never seen a overweight white woman. Every job that I have had the heaviest women/woman has always been a white woman. I don’t mean Walmart shopper/Braves gamefat. I always call this show “improv.” In improv, the audience and host pick a situation and the actors create something out of it. Here, producers create situations and the women run with it, for better or worse. Though that’s not 100% fair. If a camera is out of place or something looks wrong, the producers could have the women “re-do” a scene.

You grossly mischaracterized my statement. I did not say the entire race of black females are overweight. I stated that black women are disproportionately overweight. More specifically , black women more than any other sector of society is overweight. This is a medical fact.
Moreover , my opinion is not based on the observation of one overweight black woman.It is based on medical literature and research , health and fitness literature research ,social and cultural documentation of this issue and my personal observation of thousands of black women.

I use to love watching this show but i’m not sure I will watch the show next season if NeNe is on it. I think she is racist, bully who is in great need of anger management (btw I am an african american woman). Her behavior on the bus and in Kim’s friend home was appauling. Then to invite a friend to his home just to spite Kim was beyond any behavior I have any seen a grown woman display. I am embarassed for her!! She should be ashamed of herself.

If this is entertainment, it’s a shame. All the Housewives shows are crazy!!! What else is there to watch anymore on TV besides reality shows? Every channel you turn to is a reality show, even on a so-called ‘educational’ channel. HWOA is crazy because did you catch what a Phaedra said about the model, Cynthia? She’s a self described Southern Belle? Ha, ha. Phaedra said of Cynthias’ walk down the catwalk modeling that she looked like a pretzel dipped in cottage cheese, I’m sure referring to Cynthia’s backside or legs I guess. I think Phaedra is JEALOUS!!!! Did you catch her side view sitting in that cut out bathing suit after Cynthia left the table upset about her wedding? All I saw were rolls!!! If Nene had behaved out in public like she did on the bus , or in a school, she would have been arrested. Someone should have legally stepped in, for she needs mental help and Kim should have been protected. When will some of you people finally understand that this is a “staged” show — nothing more and nothing less. For folks to take it all serious and start name calling NeNe, Kim, Sheree, Phaedra, etc., is just plain dumb. This is nothing more than a soap opera being scripted as if it is real life and some of you folks are acting like all of this is reality. Susan Luccie is not Erica Kane people and the NeNe and Kim you see on tv is not the NeNe and Kim in their real “off the stage” lives.
NeNe and Kim are doing nothing more than playing a scripted role (make up and then break up) which will up the ratings for this show and allow them to cash in. Have you ever wondered how many times BRAVO actually filmed this on the bus fight scene in order to get it just right?

Sometimes, I can take NeNe because she most definately is funny but NeNe goes out of her way to put Kim down. NeNe purposely puts Kim down for whatever reason and when Kim sticks up for herself NeNe gets mad. I’m no fan of Kim’s but NeNe was dead wrong last night. Did anyone pickup when Khandi said “she told Kim that this would happen?” Honestly, I could not fault Kim last night. I lost tons of respect for 11alive when they “hired” NeNe to do “reporting” (even if it’s about entertainers most adults don’t care about anymore). Switched back to WSB after she came on… they might be “Hollywood”, but they don’t embarass the City by hiring people like that to do any air time.
All we need is some lighter skin and cheaper cars, and this version of the shows could have been named, “The Real Housewives of the Trailer Park”, the way most fo them act.

Your comments are very ignorant sure Cynthia is thin but she is a model and just because a woman is thin does not mean she eats healthy, trying to project western beauty standards on the extreme focus on thinness onto black women is not being concerned about their heath.
