‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ recap, episode 7: Dancin’ and drivin’ with Sheree
There haven’t been that many moments of conspicuous consumption this season, save for Kim Zolciak and her limo full of luggage when she went to California for that gay circuit party.
But then Sheree Whitfield pops up Sunday night with a brand new Aston Martin. (The cheapest 2011 Aston Martin is $133,750 though since this was shot in the spring, that had to be a 2010 model.)
“I can’t keep putting my desires on the back burner,” she explains. “I’m living now! Can I downsize? Yah. Do I want to? Not really. I’m in a place where I’m happy. It’s about me.”
Where she got the money to actually buy that, who knows. But according to TMZ, the vehicle was repossessed earlier this month by one of the law firms that she owes money to related to her divorce. (She owes at least $180,000 between the two of them.) I’m not sure which law firm was able to grab it. Reps from both law firms have not returned my calls.
Though Sheree’s spokesman last week declined to comment, Sheree tried to shrug it off to TMZ: “It’s okay, it’s a car, I’ll get another one.”
Sheree spends the episode prepping, then doing a sexy rumba at a charity event called “Dancing Stars of Atlanta,” which was held in mid-May for the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia. All the ladies minus Phaedra Parks (prepping for her baby’s imminent arrival) show up.
Though Sheree is being her usual diva-like, over-confident self, she actually pulls it off. The editors made it seem like the other housewives weren’t all that impressed (one said it wasn’t that tough of a dance) but she did get 9’s from the judges. Plus, she raised more than $5,000 for the charity, although she felt her housewife castmates were a bit chintzy.
And good news for us: Tiy-E Muhammad, the “love doctor” (but not the real thing), is still in the picture, despite his seeming lack of real wealth or interest in it. Sheree said he’s out of town for the charity event but trailers show him popping up next week. And in episode eight, Sheree finds out the truth about him. (I guess she didn’t Google his name because the facts about him faking his credentials are readily available online. The AJC wrote about it several years ago.)
In other “Housewives” developments:
- Kim Zolciak spies Atlanta Falcon player Kroy Biermann, one of the celebrities. She is immediately smitten -especially with his posterior. “You can bounce a quarter off that xxxx. Unbelievable!” Kim emoted. She has him show it off after the dance and they exchange numbers.
The pair are now dating. So the very beginning of the relationship is captured on film. Kroy even wins judges’ choice award at the dance.
She also tells Kandi Burruss that she promises to take vocal lessons after Kandi suggested it in last week’s episode.
- Nonetheless, Kandi is still peeved about Kim’s attitude. Even when Kim says she’s “serious about my music,” Kandi is skeptical: “I’ll believe it when I see it.” She prefers to work with Lawrence, Sheree’s hairdresser, who actually has vocal talent.
- Phaedra, as mentioned earlier, is going to have her baby induced. The trailer for next week makes it clear we’ll learn a bit more about the timing of her conception. The ladies in a past episode found it a bit odd that Phaedra has been dancing around her due date and how many weeks along she is.
-NeNe’s storyline is not really advanced this week. She shows up at Sheree’s charity event with Gregg, figuring that would be less stressful than having to answer questions about him if he didn’t show up. She does not look happy. And neither does he.
- Cynthia Bailey gets engaged to Peter Thomas. She is the opposite of NeNe: not outwardly emotional. She hates surprises but Peter surprises her anyway by having friends watch him do the proposal. Cynthia loves the ring but would have preferred the proposal been done in a more intimate setting.
She also talks with her mom and sister about why she is having apprehension about the pending marriage. She saw her mom get trapped in a bad marriage with her alcoholic, abusive stepfather and Cynthia has since shied away from marriage. She doesn’t ever want to be dependent on a man.

Sheree’s Aston Martin got repossessed?! I guess she will not be auditioning for RH of Beverly Hills season 2 anytime soon. BTW, Kim is right…Kroy is gorgeous and yes, quarters can bounce off of that *** indeed!!

OMG! This season has more snap! Crackle! & Pop than any other season. I still miss Lisa Wu Hartwell but I guess she was just 2 squeaky clean 2 bring the drama. Ok guys & gals- was it just me or was NeNe sizing up Cynthia’s man Peter by going on & on about how dark his berry & how sweet his juice is…I was like whoa NeNe slow your roll girl. It’s one thing 2 casually mention that Peter is an attractive man but NeNe seemed 2 be turned on by Peter’s swagger. Now- I’m about 2 get on miss fake a** Phaedra. She is the classic “wannabe”. Why is it that she has 2 feel like she’s more superior than everyone else when she can’t even be honest about the conception of her 1st child, her marriage 2 a fricking convict (oops…I mean white collar criminal) who ambiguously on the down low if you ask me. Phaedra is a suga mama who needed a light skinned pretty boy with no kids 2 complete her fantasy world of a so called life. She & her lil hubby are rarely seen 2gether & can’t even agree on how 2 raise their child. On a lighter note- I’m loving that Kandi is spending her time, talent & effort on a much more worthy protege’- Lawrence, she’s fruitty & flirty hairdresser. He can really sing but it kinda makes you wonder exactly who sir Lawrence is actually singing about- I’m willing 2 bet it’s more than likely Apollo since Lawrence’s friend knew Apollo in the “big house”. Makes you really curious…hmmmm. *wink* well I better go & watch Andy Cohen- he’s so funny. SMOOCHES!

I apologize for the typo folks- that supposed 2 be Sheree’s fruitty & flirty hairdresser. Oh yeah & what’s up with miss She by Sheree’ the multi tasking & not so talented “actress/mother/cold hearted gold digger” buying an Aston Martin?? How can she afford such a luxury. By the by- I heard it was repossesed. I’m also extremely curious about who Gregg has been cheating with & what sort of deal he just had 2 make behind NeNe’s back with her gay BFF Dwight. Sounds strange & quite suspect 2 me.But next week’s episode promises 2 bring the noise & super drama when Phaedra’s circle of lies about her unborn’s due date comes 2 light. I can’t wait 2 see what (& who) this baby looks like when it’s born & why all the secrecy surrounding the due date of this fully developed & full term sized baby. Oh well…guess we’ll all be on pins & needles waiting. Gotta go…SMOOCHES!!

Real Housewives of Atlanta Star Sheree Whitfield Accused of Stiffing Private Eye
Do not mess with your private eye folks…
Sheree Whitfield, star of Real Housewives of Atlanta, has been accused of screwing over her private detective, and now he wants revenge.
Sheree hired Dwayne Alexander, a private investigator, back in 2005 to snoop and obtain information on her then-husband, ex-NFL star Bob Whitfield. Apparently she still owes Alexander $28,858.93 for his services.
At this point, Mr. Alexander has gone above and beyond the call of duty, sending a letter to Bravo, the network behind Housewives, saying he has plans to garnish Sheree’s wages from the show to settle this debt.
Sheree’s lawyer have responded and claim thatAlexander’s judgment is “void” saying he “has no idea what he’s doing in a court of law and what he’s trying to do is improper.”

I am loving the show this season and its by far the #1 Housewives show. I would liike to know what planet SheRay is living on. She acts all hig amd mighty, does she not reay the AJC and all the lovely things written about her?

When is Sheree acting or mothering? All I’ve seen her do is spend. Well, that seems to be catching up to here now. Aston-Martin? Gone. Legal fees? Rising. How soon before she can’t pay for her “glam team.” Lawrence doesn’t seem to have enough garish blouses.

Loving this trainwreck of a show. It is pretty obvious how financially stable all these wannabes are after seeing them at the charitable event and donating $20 each. Most people would be embarrassed, but these women are too stupid to be embarrassed. As for the attorney, I have never seen such ignorance…every time she opens her mouth she sounds more and more stupid. I would be very afraid if she were defending me in a court of law. Congrats to Bravo on a hit…you couldn’t make this stuff up!

Nene is the joke of the show. She is always pouting and b!tching about something. Why come to an event with bitterness all over her sour face. She should have stayed home or came without Greg since she was so busy lusting over Peter. I bet that pole dancer wants something younger, but Greg put her on the map, and will take her off the map.

I think when the “Countess” housewife from NYC sang that song last year titled, “Money can’t buy you class”, it would have made an EXCELLENT theme song for the housewives of Atlanta incarnation of the show. Every show just gives you at least one, “wow”, regarding how people who supposedly have “made it” in life can still act like they came from the furthest reaches of the back of the ghetto.
Ok, Kandi is like-able, even though from the street vocab she uses, we know her roots are ghetto. Still, ghetto(ish) upbringing or not, she still doesn’t seem to have allowed fame/money to have seeped into her head (or attitude), and for that she deserves an applause. The jury is still out on model Cynthia, though so far at least, she hasn’t shown any super model diva-like behavioral issues.
After Phaedra Parks incredibly racist comments about how White households don’t disipline their kids, and how White children are raised eating “food out of cans”, well, you can’t possible have a more trashy attitude than that. Celeb lawyer or not, that chick BELONGS in the hood. Honestly though, with at least three of these housewives actually losing their homes over the last season or two, how can any of them claim to have money, much less class? But then – do we really care?

Since the ratings are down this year it looks like BRAVO is coming around with bringing Lisa Wu Hartwell back next week. The ratings seem to improve when she’s on the show. Looks like a smart move on BRAVO’s part. I look forward to seeing Lisa on this Sunday.

Rodney…this by far has been one of your more entertaining recaps this season….there is sooo much to say about these ladies…its hard to even start.

Oh, yes. Peter put the ring on the wrong finger. Why didn”t the producers notice and call for a re-shoot? (We know RHOA and the other Real Housewives shows often do multiple takes. It may not be scripted per se but it’s hardly documentary-style!)

I am really disgusted with this season of RHOA. I really am not feeling Ms. Phaedra. Now she always talking about the other ladies. Lets give a little insight to who she really is. She is from Athens but she grea up on the poor side and the ghetto as we call it. Next if it was not for her almost getting in trouble she would not be where she is. Now her husband Mr. Apollo, I understand that he swings both ways and that the baby is not his. They are supposedly to have had that understanding when he got out of prison, but again these are only my opinions and from some of my sources.

This show is purely entertainment. At least Bravo knows that many of us need a good laugh before starting our work week. Other than Kandi, the rest are so shallow and an embarrassment to their families and quite frankly, the women of Atlanta. Between them having houses foreclosed, car reposessed, etc., maybe starting over would be in order.

The one thing most of these women have in common is that they all have “gutter mouths”, no finesse whatsoever, and live above their means (except probably Kandi). Nenee is so vindictive and jealous that she’ll never get anywhere, Sherree is a “gold digger” without a shovel, and Phaedra looks like she invented the “bankhead bounce”. And, poor Kim is soooo confused…But I guess that’s what makes great TV “comedy”….
