Who is sixth out on ‘Dancing With the Stars’?

Audrina Patridge with her dancing partner Tony Dovolani

Audrina Patridge with her dancing partner Tony Dovolani

Audrina Patridge, in a bit of a surprise, was ousted sixth on “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday night.

From a technical standpoint, Patridge was quite good each week and even ended up on top of the leader board week three with her waltz. She has a dancer’s build and clearly worked hard. But she lacked charm and struggled to connect with whatever character she was playing on stage.

Was Audrina Patridge the right person to go this week?

“I had so much fun and made such good, new friends,” she said blandly after getting eliminated.

Personally, I didn’t think she’d have much of a following and would be eliminated earlier. But she was a better dancer than expected and those MTV “Hills” fans kept her around awhile.

Although early favorite Jennifer Grey was not told until the end that she was safe, Tom Bergeron said she wasn’t necessarily the one with the second lowest votes. So that was probably just a ruse. Even though this was one of Grey’s weaker performances, with her emotion overwhelming her technique, I’m sure she was perfectly safe.

The two celebrities with the lowest judges’ scores Kurt Warner (22) and Bristol Palin (28) had plenty of viewer votes and survived. Palin has a similar issue as Audrina  in terms of performance skills, but she clearly has a bigger fan base.

Brandy was on top for the second week in a row thanks to her elegant tango and is clearly going to be around for the finale with Grey. She also outlasted the other six couples during the marathon dance.

Former Atlantan Kyle Massey, who is a natural performer but not a natural dancer, improved from a week ago and tied for second with the judges. Rick Fox remains a possible final three contestant with an intense take on a tango.

I wasn’t surprised. Both Brandy and Audrina have consistently been in the bottom 2 on varying weeks in online polls. Even with the judges’ overscoring they couldn’t keep the Dancing Implants on any longer. I hope Brandy goes next.

CHO “I hope Brandy goes next”.

Brandy has been dancing good the last couple of weeks. I hope she continues to improve along with the other dancers. I loved Jennifer Grey performance each and every week (even though she has made mistakes like everyone else).

I have been watching Brandy since she 1st came out in the 90’s. Brandy is a natural dancer and could definately beat anyone on that show hands down! If the dancers were judged by their dancing ability, instead of the popularity contest that it is, then the real dancers with talent would win. The show is as lame as a dead horse. I do believe that , seeing as this is a popularity contest, and not a real dance show, that someone like Bristol Palin will win it hands down, even though she couldn’t dance her way out of a wet paper bag! If you want to see a real dance show, with dancers with talent, then watch “america’s best dance crew” and you will see some real dancing talent. Dancing with the stars sucks period!

Rick Fox? are you kidding Donna? he looks stiff as a board! He should have been gone a couple of episodes ago, as well as Kurt Warner… I love the guy, he was a great QB, but he’s got no rhythm!

Audrina was graceful, precise, and looked beautiful out there on the floor… why people didn’t vote for her is beyond me.

That disney guy is a clown but has a nice personality, but he can’t DANCE well… in terms of dancing ability (Which this show SHOULD BE ABOUT), it should have been Jennifer, Brandy and Audrina in the final three.

The fact that people don’t realize this is a DANCING contest and not a “who’s interesting or the coolest or hippest or most trendy” contest is beyond me. It’s called DANCING with the stars, not just “Hanging Out With the Stars”.

I agree with you Jeff. Dancing with the stars is only a popularity contest. It is not about who’s the most talented dancer. Now the links that I posted, those are real dancers with real talent, and there are ton’s of them out there. Dancing with the stars sucks, period!

This has been a popularity contest since season one. It’s not called “Best Dancing Star” for a reason.

Flashback to John O’Hurley losing to the soap actress/Playboy Playmate with a wardrobe malfunction. He was the best dancer hands down, but he couldn’t compete with cleavage. We all knew the game rules after that.

And quit ripping on Bristol Palin. DWTS lost their definition of a “star” when they put Heather Mills on a few years back. At least Bristol seems genuine.

Enjoy it for what it is…mindless free entertainment.

Brandy’s dancing isn’t good and it hasn’t been improving. If you know anything about ballroom, you have to admit that Brandy’s foot and arm placement are way off, her posture bad, she breaks hold, and her partner uses a lot of filler and tricks to detract from her lack of talent.

@CHO Are you serious? You must be watching another show because Brandy came in the underdog whose managed to dance her way to the top of the score board two weeks in a row. If you can’t see that then your just plain hating or watching some other show. Sorry but Palin needs to go. Watching her dance is like watching paint dry; BORING!!!

It sounds like you are hating on Brandy, because she’s improved each week and looks like a strong contender for the finale. What show have you been watching?

If it was only meant to be a talent contest, they would not have the audience voting. DWTS is no different from American Idol where audience participation determines the winner; hence, a popularity contest.

Of course it is a dance and popularity contest. How else could they get the people on this blog to make comments, like they know what they are talking. Only thing I get upset about is all the commercials and killing time. Not this week, the the week before I timed it and the program was on 45 minutes BEFORE the first dancers did their routine. After that week, that was it for me. Back to the NCIS reruns. lol

It’s clearly that CHO has other issues with Brandy besides her dancing. All of these celeb’s have alot of negatives that can be pointed out so just to point out Brandy’s is just crazy.. especially when the other’s celebs have alot more flaw’s such as Palin, Warner, Massey, etc.

I hope Bristol goes home next week. One of the best dancers went home last night and that just crazy. The viewers should vote on performance and not by popularity. Which I am still confused on how Bristol became a celebrity in the first place? I am guessing that Mama Bear Palin had something to do with that.

Forget the dancing competitors. If grotesque implants, an absence of talent, and a complete inability to connect to the smooth Bergeron, the earnest dancers, the studio audience, or TV audiences while stumbling through her teleprompter drivel are disqualifiers, that wooden “hostess” Brooke should have left long ago. Some program exec is getting his **** sucked.

I’m dismayed by the judges’ comments last night. On Monday they all complained about Audrina’s performance as being stiff and not connecting with the dance and said something is “missing” (yea, a little emotion!) and Jennifer’s performances as being uncontrolled and too complicated for her, and then when they were in jeopardy, they acted totally surprised! Here’s a clue, I don’t care how well the “stars” dance technically. If they don’t have the personality to connect with the viewers, they won’t get the votes. Personally, I’m tired of drama queen Jennifer.

My favorite is Kyle. He’s got personality and he’s really light on his feet for a big guy. I also admire Bristol for hanging in there each week and speaking her mind. Yes, those low scores last week “sucked”.

Hey Dancingfan, here’s the deal… I don’t watch dancing with the stars because it is garbage, period! Like I said, Brandy has been dancing since 1990, and that is a fact. And she could outdance anyone of the contestants on that show, hands down. Like I said, If you want to see some real dancers with talent, go to youtube and look up the following dancers: Kenny Wormald(from the new footloose remake), Candace Brown, Dance 411 Atlanta, Boogiezone, and then come back and make your comments! I myself used to be Breakdancer and Poplocker, and can still do it till this day(and very well might I add)….. You don’t know flip about dancing dancing fan!

DancingFan, here’s another one for ya…. I used to watch dwts with my Wife, but after seeing people like Mel B, Nicole Sherzinger, Mya, Samantha Bryant not win the show, than I knew that it was bullS^%$! These are people who are known for their dancing because they must do it in the music videos, and that is what their careers are based on. DWTS is a buch of bull! Real talent is not judged on that show. It’s a popularity contest, period!

If you have a huge fan base, and your base is larger than others on the show, then guess what, you will win! It is not based on the talent of the dancers. Ther is know way that Bristol Palin could every outdance Brandy… I have been a fan of Brandy’s since “I wanna be down”, which came out in the 90’s. Brandy can seriously dance, period! Bristol Palin needs to go.

Brandy cannot dance despite years of ballet, tap, jazz, and ballroom. Yes, people, she studied ballroom dancing for her role as Cinderella, and she still can’t get it right on the dance floor. Kyle and Kurt are doing a much better job of dancing ballroom than Brandy is.

IMO, Cho’s comments have a little something more to them than rating Brandy solely on her dancing performance, but it would be wrong to bring any obvious racial preference to this blog. Having said that, it doesn’t take a degree in dance to know that Brandy’s performance is well above Kurt’s and Bristol’s. ALL of the remaining dancers have shown improvement since week 1 (except Jennifer who’s had a couple of rough weeks lately). That’s to be expected, no? But Brandy does have a natural ability that the other two just cannot fake. I too am  that Audrina was voted out before Bristol, Kurt or even Rick.

CHO – sounds like a wannabe ‘dancing star’..I know with out a doubt Jennifer has more dance background than Brandy. But, hip hop and a one shot, train-for-the-part role in Cinderella doesn’t really make that much of a difference. They wanted diversity in style, ability and charisma. The bad thing is some of the ’stars’ have neither and should go…

Brandy has no hip action which is unusual. Her hips just don’t move. Her kicks are low as well. It could be that her leg is so long and her knee placement on the leg is unusually low. Whatever it is, it’s not good. She just does not have dancer’s legs.
