Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg storm off ‘The View’ over Bill O’Reilly’s Ground Zero ‘mosque’ issue

bill-o-reilly1967

“The View” hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar stormed off the set today after Bill O’Reilly riled them up over the issue of a mosque near Ground Zero.

He called the mosque “inappropriate,” which upset Behar and Goldberg.

Behar believes the mosque should stay and said  “We’re Americans!”

“Seventy percent of Americans don’t want that mosque down there so don’t give me this ‘we’ business,” O’Reilly said.

“Muslims killed us on 9/11,” O’Reilly added a few moments later.

Then it deteriorated quickly. “Oh, my God! That’s bullxxxx!” Goldberg said. “Extremists did it!”

They started talking over each other. The ladies walked off.

Barbara Walters then said: “You have just seen what should not happen. We should be able to have discussion without washing our hands an screaming and walking off stage. I love my colleagues but this should not have happened.”

The two came back after he acknowledged that it was “extremist Muslims.” “If I was inartful in explaining, Muslim fanatics, terrorists, whatever the word, killed us. There are 100 mosques in New York City. They can move it way and nobody will bother.”

O’Reilly used the “word” inartful, which many think isn’t an actual word but was used by Rick Sanchez last week in his apology after he got fired from CNN.

Here’s the video:

LOL

I’m rather indifferent when it comes to O’Reilly, but it makes me happy that he could get under Joy and Whoopi’s skin. For shame, the man has an opinion that doesn’t jive with yours. I don’t agree with him, but you don’t see me having a hissy fit. Sheesh, most of America agrees with him, try to have some dialogue, not some childish tantrum.

They both have valid points: while I’m not crazy about the idea of a Mosque so close to the 9/11 site…this is still America, therefore we have to practice what we preach! Bill O’ Reilly is not a credible individual.

I really don’t see why it’s the business of O’Reilly or anyone else. It’s not even a mosque. It’s a cultural center. Who cares. It’s a made up issue designed to divide. That’s O’Reilly’s stock and trade. He probably doesn’t even believe half the stuff he says.

You put a Mosque there & Muslim terrorists have a Victory Holy place. Sickens me to see what American has become – so bent of appeasing the left that we show absolutely no backbone.

Why can’t people just listen to each others views, and discuss it rationally. It’s time for the majority of the people to start voting on what the people want, not special interest groups.

We can argue, debate and scream all we want about whether or not it’s a good idea to place a mosque at any specific location. But as soon as any government entity enacts legislation or regulations to prohibit it, we cease to become the “land of the free.”

Why was there not this type of uproar against young white males when McVeigh bombed the OKC Federal building? No one wanted to ban white guys from public places.

I will never watch the View again unless Joyce and Whoopi are fired. It would be a large improvement. Why did they come back? It was a good show without them. I agree. What do we have to do to get them to leave forever?

It is Constitutionally protected to be there, however, if they Muslims want to show how “peaceful” of a religion they are, don’t push the envelope. Have some respect. This is all about reaction in order to show they are picked on by Americans, namely Christians. We know Whoopi and Joy are the furthest thing from Christians. They aren’t journalists, just a couple of loud mouths that don’t know how to debate. They just want everyone to believe their communist ideals, using American rhetoric. If Rosie would have been there, she would have probably sat on Bill.

Why is it that so many Americans hold onto the idea that anything (and everything) goes? You know good and well that if America wanted to build a “cultural center” or a church in ANY Muslim country, we’d be tried and fried before sunset.

If you’re not white, middle class, and conservative you are an extremist and should have no viewpoint or voice. The founding fathers must be spinning in their graves over what we have come to, invoking their names and aims to legitimize the craziness. “For all” only applies to some of us I guess. The lies, baiting, and inciting just keep on rolling. Heaven help us!

What a bunch of hate and arrogance — Mr. 0 should have to face life without all the benefits he gets from the corporations and the blind, ignorant support of the millions they’ve duped…. then we’ll see who he really is. Test him and you will see that he is nothing but a fool. And all you idiots out there who believe in the corporate BS — we’ll see how much longer you carry those beliefs as the global epidemic of poverty, caused by resource depletion, sucks you under… but you’ll probably blame Muslims, or Jews, or Blacks…(used to be the ‘Commie’ Russians) anyone but yourselves! That’s why you are not only idiotic, but sinful. Just wait until you need help, and there is no one there who cares. Sure, just keep sucking up to the corporations… but don’t expect then to save you!

Dear Bill O’Reilly, there is no mosque to be built. The site has been used as a mosque for over a year. Now that a “community center” is to be built, everyone referrers to it as if the mosque is to be built. Furthermore, there is already an existing mosque just 3 blocks from ground zero. It has been there since 1970…lol This entire issue has been moot from day 1.

If/when the mosque is completed and open for worship, Ms. Behar should walk in unannounced one day and see how she gets treated by the “religion of peace.”

From the minute Bill sat down it was obvious Joy was disgusted. She can’t stand it that O’Reilly is very intelligent and she can’t outsmart him. Looked to me like Whoopi was just following what Joy did. They should both apologize to Bill and quit acting like crybabies who do not want to hear the views of anyone not 100% liberal. I wasn’t going to read Bill’s book but now I can’t wait to get my copy.

The idea that another mosque being built near Ground Zero, because there is already mosques near the site, is inappropriate because the terrorists were muslims does not hold water because we would have to hold the same beliefs toward other religions in similar cases.
This line of thinking would mean that if Timothy McVeigh, Terry Nichols and Michael Fortier were all Catholics then no new cathedrals could ever be built near the site of the Murrah Building. If Eric Robert Rudolph was a Southern Baptist then that type of church could not be built near Centennial Olympic Park. If Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were Mormons then we couldn’t build any Mormon churches near Columbine High School in Colorado.
We have to accept that there are bad people in every segment, religion or culture in this world but these people are extreme cases and not the personification of their environment so please do not take the actions of hundreds or thousands if you think that the number is that high to represent the over 1 billion people who follow the Muslim faith or any religion.

Sorry to disagree with middler… but if you are white, middle class and conservative, the leftist in this country think you’re a right wing extremist and everything you say is hate speech.

This is not what our Founding Fathers intended.

Freedom of Speech includes all points of view, whether you agree with them or not. The country in is not well-served when people cannot offer a dissenting opinion without being subject to personal attacks.

Lets express our opinions… and let’s agree to disagree – respectfully.
