TMZ reports: Atlanta’s Lil Jon joining ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ with Jose Canseco, Richard Hatch, Star Jones, LaToya Jackson
Leaks are flying for the upcoming “Celebrity Apprentice” and Atlanta looks to be represented, courtesy of rapper Lil Jon.
TMZ broke the news that Mr. “Get Low” will join steroids-pumped former baseball player Jose Canseco, “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch, supermodel Niki Taylor.
Three other names were leaked yesterday: former “View” talker Star Jones, LaToya Jackson and Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray.
Lil Jon, 39, helped make the phrase “Get crunk!” famous. His most successful run of hits was from 2003 to 2006. His solo album released this year didn’t do particularly well.
Set to come out early 2011, this will be the fourth “Celebrity Apprentice” for Donald Trump. After a three-year-break, he and NBC tried to revive the non-celebrity edition this fall using the premise of unemployed white-collar folks seeking redemption. It has failed miserably, not even drawing 4 million viewers a week, a dismal showing for an NBC show at 10 p.m. Thursdays. (Yes, that used to be the spot “ER” aired.)

I think of them as really scraping the bottom when reality TV shows like this cast “stars” who are only known from being on reality TV (e.g. any Kardashian, Richard Hatch, Kate Gosselin, The Situation, etc.). It’s when they have to turn inward for “stars” that you know they don’t actually have any.

Not surprising this current installment of the Apprentice failed. The Apprentice comes on the same time as The Mentalist which is the highest rated show from last year. I am a loyal viewer of The Mentalist, so no way would I miss that for the Apprentice. Besides regular people out of work do not want to see others getting a chance they aren’t getting.

I really hope that this news is NOT true.
A grown man called “lil Jon”? He is not a good representation of Atlanta – and celebrity, oh please! When was the last time – this man had a hit?

Lil John is going to represent for the hip hop community! haha! Is anyone even going to be able to understand him. He seems like a pretty intellectual guy! lol! I would love to see all the rappers get together to do an Apprentice. You can call it the ghetto apprentice. They would go out and rob folk, shoot some stuff up, deal drugs and come back to Donald and say look at me, I made 10 grand today.

Thursay at 10pm is in direct competition with private practice which is a spinoff of Grey’s anatomy. Die hard fans wont switch…Sunday at 8pm time slot would be nice..
