In a relatively quiet week on TV as we enter Labor Day weekend, Pres. Obama gives a speech Tuesday but otherwise, it’s mostly the usual mix of fun and frolic.
There’s idiocy on Bravo (”The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reunion), college football on ESPN Thursday and ABC Saturday, country music on ABC Wednesday and season finales of “Rescue Me” on FX on Tuesday (yes, that show is still on) and “Futurama” on Comedy Central on Thursday.
“The Closer” 9 p.m. TNT — An officer (Gary Cole) gets in Brenda’s face after three military officers are killed.
“Huge” 9 p.m. ABC Family (first season finale) — Amber and Ian share a moment in the woods.
“Life After” 9 p.m. TV One (second season finale) — Ron Artest discusses life after his big brawl.
“Dance Your Ass Off” 10 p.m. Oxygen (second season finale) — The final three are Adamme, Latoya and Michael.
“Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” 10 p.m. Food (10th season debut) — Guy Fieri samples Eastern European sausage in Minnesota
“Rizzoli & Isles” 10 p.m. TNT — A serial killer who nearly slayed Jane is running amok.
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” 10 p.m. Bravo — Danielle faces off against the others in what is guaranteed to be an over-the-top reunion, part one.
“Presidential Address” 8 p.m. ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC — Pres. Obama delivers a speech about Iraq.
“America’s Got Talent” 9 p.m. NBC — Last week, four of the five finalists were singers, including a guy named Prince Poppycock.
“Make It Or Break It” 9 p.m. ABC Family (second season summer finale) — World Team tryouts start.
“Shaq vs.” 9:16 p.m. ABC (second season finale) — First, Shaq tries to sing and dance better than Justin Bieber, then give a funnier monologue than Jimmy Kimmel.
“Rescue Me” 10 FX (sixth season finale) — Tommy and Sheila adjust to life after Damian’s accident.
“Primetime: Crime” 10:16 p.m. ABC (fourth season debut) — Go inside an interrogation room to see the games police play to get suspects to confess.
“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” 8 p.m. ABC — Plenty of Georgians in the lineup including Billy Currington, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band.
“Changing Lanes” 8 p.m. BET (new series) — Ludacris is the narrator to this series which tries to get more women and minorities into NASCAR.
“MasterChef” 8 p.m. Fox— Tracy Nailor continues to do well in this series as the remaining nine cater a wedding.
“Dark Blue” 9 p.m. TNT — The gang tries to bust a gang of drug thieves masquerading as DEA agents.
“Plane Jane” 9 p.m. the CW (first season finale) — A woman who lost 100 pounds gets a makeover to impress a coworker she secretly likes.
“Top Chef” 10 p.m. Bravo — Once a front-runner, Angelo is now in danger of going home. The remaining five feed Buzz Aldrin.
“Psych” 10 p.m. USA — Shawn competes with a talented criminal profiler.
“Thursday Night College Football” 7:30 p.m. ESPN (14th season debut) — Southern Miss at South Carolina.
“Project Runway” 9 p.m. Lifetime — The designers must reinvent hideous bridesmaid dresses. Valerie has been named top 3 four weeks in a row but hasn’t won a challenge yet.
“Rookie Blue” 9 p.m. ABC — Andy and Swarek find evidence that implicates Andy’s dad in a murder.
“Futurama” 10 p.m. Comedy (sixth season finale) — The band Devo pops up.
“Jersey Shore” 10 p.m. MTV — More Snooki and Vinny shenanigans. And the ladies get into a major fight.
“Ace of Cakes” 10 p.m. Food — Duff takes a ride with Navy’s Blue Angels squadron and creates a rocket cake.
“Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” 8 p.m. Disney — Mitchie (Demi Lovato) and Shane (Joe Jonas) team up to save their beloved retreat.
“Man, Woman, Wild” 9 p.m. Discovery — Myke and Ruth turn up on the shore of Aitutaki, a rat-infested desert island amid the Cook Islands.

“All American Handyman” 9 p.m. Sunday HGTV (new series) — Twenty handymen vie for spots in the top 10.
“Leverage” 9 p.m. Sunday TNT (third season summer finale) — The team tries to outfox a rogue financier.
