New ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ cast member Cynthia Bailey getting hitched Saturday
Nobody knows yet if new “Real Housewives of Atlanta” Cynthia Bailey is a keeper in terms of reality show appeal.
But, hey, at least she’s getting married – unlike many of the existing cast mates.
Her publicist Tolu Okunowo at Good Buzz Public Relations sent out this breathless release just moments ago:
Model Cynthia Bailey, one of the newest cast members of Bravo’s hit reality television show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, will walk down the aisle tomorrow night right here in Atlanta and the wedding ceremony and reception will be filmed for the upcoming third season of the hit series. Invited guests include all the current Atlanta housewives and the other new cast member for this upcoming season; actor Leon Robinson from “The Five Heartbeats” fame; R & B star Brandon Hines and a host of other celebrities. Lucky invited wedding guests can expect a lot of surprise performances by all of the celebrities at the reception. And, of course, with NeNe, Kandi, Lisa and Sheree there, those wedding guests will probably get a little bit of drama too!
Bravo has yet to set a launch date for season three but presumably it will be sometime this fall after the D.C. version is finished.
She’s marrying Peter Thomas, owner of Uptown Restaurant and Lounge.
UPDATE@3:35 p.m. Just received a curious call from a Bravo publicist. Bravo has not “officially” confirmed that Bailey is a housewife but wanted to get a copy of the press release. Hmm…
UPDATE@3:38 p.m. The publicist who released this information just got a stern call from Bravo. He said Bailey didn’t know she wasn’t supposed to reveal this life-changing plot line, per Bravo’s contractual arrangement. He asked me to take this blog entry down more than two hours after the fact. I told him the cat was out of the bag and several Web sites have already linked to this one revealing this important news to the world. Bravo obviously doesn’t want all the story lines leaking out months before the show airs, though many often do anyway.

People, understand that this show is about nothing but entertainment. It is NOT a true representation of women in Atlanta, white or black, wed or single. It’s all about ratings and getting us to watch the weekly train wreck. Think a mobile Jerry Springer in heels. Glad to see all the negative remarks about the show, atlanta society, and that so called club. It only make me more greateful I left Atlanta several years ago. I was choking on the racism, traffice, and phoniness of the “New York of the South”. What a joke. Maybe if all the ding bats would stop watching that show, they might take it off the air. It amazes me the way the entertainment industry throws around the word “star”. I am so glad I am not anywhere near this city so I don’t have to watch Neeeeeeeeeee Neeeeeeeeee on WXIA. God what a clown this show is making of Atlanta.

Just another comment about your wonderful city. Atlanta claims to be the “City that Never Hate”. Give me a break; I have never seen from comments made on articles all over this site how much whites down there hate blacks and blacks hate white. What a joke you people are. Hope you enjoy getting up at 4am to beat the traffic every day. I get up to hear the waves breaking in front of my house next to the beach. Go figure; I guess you all love misery and pain. I think it’s true that Bravo wants to perpetuate the stereotype that Atlanta is nothing but a ghetto…the Detroit of the south. I’d be more interested in watching a woman driving her kids to soccer practice than I would looking at bad weaves, listening to ebonics, and watching women lose their houses to foreclosure. Robin Huud, I completely agree with you. I’ve been in this city for 9 years, and will be moving to Santa Fe in September. Cannot wait to get out of here. Tired of watching the news everyday to see who’s been murdered in southwest Atlanta, tired of the awful traffic and crime. It’s just become a cesspool of crap. Can’t wait to see Atlanta in my rear view mirror. September can’t get here soon enough!

Ok here’s the real tea. The reason bravo didn’t want you guys to know about the wedding is because Lisa is being kicked off the show. This is her last season. There are no other married housewives on the show other than Phaedra Parks who’s the newest housewife but she’s married to a ex-con. Phaedra finally had a baby several weeks ago. Cynthia is a serious hopeful to replace Lisa’s slot but it depends on how well the viewers take to her. Oh and since Lisa and Nene are no longer friends Cynthia is supposed to be Nene’s new BFF whom just met this season on the show. They didn’t even know each other before the show. The sad part is Cynthia will have more footage on the show this season than Lisa. Cynthia was really desperate to be on the show in hopes of jump-starting her non-existing modeling career. Finally she’s not getting paid like the other housewives which shows how desperate she is in hopes of jump starting her career. Just remember you heard it first here.

My experience with the new Mr. & Mrs. Thomas: Each time I’ve met them, he was very polite, accomodating and a charming host. She was cordial, gracious and beautiful. God bless you and your family and your business. Cynthia can only add class to the show.

Accent marks are used by the french, spanish, italians, etc. Please educate yourselves people not only black people use them and language is constantly changing so the can be used people in whatever way they see fit.
