Natasha Bedingfield visits Star 94, Hotel Indigo

Natasha vertical eyes closed

British pop star Natasha Bedingfield stopped by Hotel Indigo last week for a private performance for Star 94 fans to promote her new album and a special Hotel Indigo promotion.

Through Aug. 15, the Hotel Indigo chain is seeking advice from local residents of various cities to identify the best places for visitors to get to know a town, be it a restaurant, a bar, a nightclub or park. You can sign up at the Local Knows Best Web site.

Winners will get a personal concert in New York with Bedingfield, who has several hits under her belt including “Unwritten,” “These Words,” “Love Like This,” and “Pocketful of Sunshine.”

Her latest single for her upcoming new album “Touch” just came out.  Her acoustic set for Star 94 at Hotel Indigo in Midtown featured most of her hits and her sweet vocals proved she has no need for Auto Tune at all. After meeting with fans, she recorded promos for Star 94 with incomparable cheer and spoke with me for a few minutes. She noted with amazement how the just concluded MTV series “The Hills” propelled “Unwritten” to massive airplay status in 2006. She’s adjusting to married life, which will be reflected in her upcoming album. And she enjoyed her time singing on “So You Think You Can Dance” a couple weeks ago. The video interview is below.

And here’s a snippet of her singing her biggest hit “Unwritten” at Hotel Indigo:

I didn’t hear any clicking sound. What are you talking about? Are you suggesting there was a bad mic?

Hi im barely on the air. I can ‘t stand the arrogant stuck up jocks who are on my air. The PD who runs me is clueless and my logo hasn’t been updated in, well, it’s been awhile

I used to be sort of cool back in the day when there were like 3 stations in town. I tried to get cooler a few years back with that mess of a morning show experiment, but my managers pee’d down their legs when Bert went to a bigger frequency. Now that guy is cool……..GOSH what I’d do to be Bert Weiss for a day!
