Wow. That was quite a moment when Chris Brown broke down singing “Man in the Mirror” on the BET Awards last night during his Michael Jackson tribute. Why did he get so emotional?

Also, she spoke publicly WAY after he went on his public relations tour trying to explain himself. Why is no one complaining about him trying to excuse and justify his behavior by speaking publicly about the incident? Why is she wrong for doing interviews when he had done so many before she even opened her mouth? So she was supposed to take the beatdown and keep her mouth shut? Puleeze.

The man who hits women honors the man who sexed little boys on a show that embraces a man (Kanye West) who has shown to have no respect for any human being alive, other than himself.

Sorry I missed it.

I MEAN WHAT IS THE POINT.
MICHAEL JACKSON TOUCHED OUR LIVES AND I GREW UP LISTENING TO HIS MUSIC.

I CRIED WHEN MICHAEL PASSED AWAY AND DID NOT KNOW HIM PERSONALLY. HE TOUCHED OUR LIVES.

STOP JUDGING CHRIS BROWN. HE HAS REPENTED FROM HIS MISTAKE.
GOD IS GOING TO JUDGE YOU THE SAME WAY YOU ARE JUDGING OTHERS.

TRUST ME THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF MEN BEATING WOMEN EVERYDAY AND WILL NOT ADMIT ITS WRONG.

Chris Brown is still basically a kid. He still has a lot of growing up to do. And instead of everyone jumping on him and telling him how wrong he is, some strong men need to step in and mentor him to teah him the right things to do.

I do not see anyone constantly judging Steven Sagal and Charlie Sheen. Charlie Sheen has a successful show on television and Steven Segal was given a reality show. He is a cop in New Orleans! He and Sheen both have issues with abuse. As far as the black community embracing criminals, that a load of crap! It all depends on who you talk to. There are plenty of people in our community who have made something of themselves and who is tired of crime. By the way crime is an American problem. There are plenty of criminals who have gotten a second chance in Hollywood. Look at Tim Allen. He did seven years in prison on a drug charge. Chris Brown has a right to a second chance as any of the other convicted or accused stars in Hollywood.

TO DEKE

PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT YOUR COMMENTS. MICHAEL JACKSON NEVER MOLESTED LITTLE BOYS. IT WAS ALL A LIE.
THE FAMILY ADMITTED IT AND THE LITTLE BOY LIED BECAUSE HIS FAMILY NEED MONEY. ALSO THE NEWS WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS BUT THE LITTLE BOYS FATHER COMMITED SUICIDE BECASUE HE WAS ASHAMED OF THE TURMOIL HE CAUSED MICHAEL JACKSON.

TRUST ME IF MICHAEL JACKSON WAS A CHILD MOLESTER THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN PHYSICALY PROOF FROM INVESTIGATIONS AND EXAMINATIONS OF THE LITTLE BOY.
YOU NEED TO DO YOUR RESEARCH.

ALSO WHAT IF SOMEONE WALK UP ON YOU AND ACUSE YOU OF SOMETHING ILLEGAL AND THEN ITS BLASTED ON THE NEWS. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU WERE INNOCENT BUT NOONE BELIEVED YOU.

THE WORLD WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE LIES MORE THAN THEY WILL BELIEVE THE TRUTH.

I loved Chris Browns performance. I’m glad he got the chance to do the tribute since he wasn’t allowed to do it last year. No one else came close. With that said, I don’t condone what he did at all but he has paid his price. He should he allowed to move on with his life and his career. Come on people. We rallied for Mike Vick when they wanted to kick him out of the NFL…he paid his dues, time served. You can’t destroy his lively hood just because he made a mistake. Hell, R Kelly made several mistakes but everyone still bought his music, book his shows for concerts, watched his videos and gave him awards. How hypocritical are we?

Michael Vick kills a few dogs and is banned from football and there’s plenty of hatred cast upon him.

Chris Brown beats his girlfriend, and then runs like the coward he his, and everyone (black community) thinks this kid is GOD.

A thug is a thug is a thug, and his performance last night was an ACT, nothing more, nothing less. The man is a coward and a thug. Thugs and cowards don’t know how to show emotion.

The only thing sadder than the very poor acting job Chris Brown did last night is the idiotic responses from people who are so quick to disregard what he did b/c of his ability to dance and sing. Oh, not to mention the FOOL who said she hit him first…i take you have no children (daughters). It should never be dismissed b/c of his talent. What is this world coming to?

@SDW ~ you know blacks and whites can do the exact same thing, but it’s harsher and less forgiven of the black person. Charlie Sheen, Steven Segal are not being blacklisted. No one is boycotting there movies or renewal tv contracts. Hell out of shape Segal is playing a washed up looking deputy somewhere. Chris honored the beloved MJ – in fact, he nailed it! Yes, he performed – afterall, he is an entertainer – a young one still; he continues to pay his pentence. I think the emotions were the real deal…. When he combines the significance of the tribute, the wake of his recent “major conduct error”, the very words of the song, the fact that a great deal of his dance motivation has come from MJ or MJ-esque influences, his very first formal time back in front of FANS & PEERS …. Hey, that can get the best of even the strongest entertainer. Even the hardened ganstas were moved. …. Rock on Chris!

Brought me to tears.....

I think he was overcome with emotion from the song, and is truly ashamed. You can tell by the way he walks, he walks like he’s ashamed. I think we need to give him a break. Didnt “holier than thou” BeBe Winans beat the crap out of his wife? Ok then how come we forgave him so quickly. And I believe Rhianna smacked him first and he went off on her in the car. So both were at fault. You see she didnt persecute him that much, its only because she probably started the hitting. Chris welcome back….I missed you, ya talented brutha!!!

Bebe did not beat his wife, you can check the outcome of that case (google it) but his wife basically lied.

Rihanna hit Chris with her stiletto, and bit him, and none of that was reported. She has a bad temper that many have spoke on, but no one cares about that either. He wasn’t right to beat her, but she also was not right to place her hands (or other objects) on him either.

No one is overlooking the fact that Chris Brown beat Rihanna. No one said that it was OK. People are saying he made a mistake and they hope that he has learned from his mistake. People are so quick to judge other. Have you looked back on your own life at the mistakes you have made. What if GOD would not forgive you for the mistakes that you have made. Chris Brown is the one who will have to face GOD on judgement day for his mistakes as we all will have to do.

I bet Hell-Bent and some others on here love going to see those Braves! And the Atlanta Media and the so-called “Women’s advocate groups” don’t even mess with the Braves and their wife beating manager, Bobby Cox! Black women wake up! These groups are not about you and don’t care about you, they just see an opportunity to destroy your husbands, fathers and brothers. Don’t support these groups, unitl you can verify that they’ve gone after the Bobby Cox’s of the world, with the same verocity that they go after the Chris Brown’s of the world.

@nypeach.. you have nerver read anything where Rihanna has admitted hitting him first.Maybe not in that infamous incident that happened in February of last year. But in her police report she admitted to an incident that happened before where they were involved in a verbal argument and she admitted hitting him first, and he pushed her against the wall.

She also admitted hitting her little brother over the head with a glass bottle. She too comes from a violent past. She admitted in the 20/20 interview that ‘we were both dangerous for each other’.People close to them have said the problem is they are both too hot headed for their own good.

Insiders have reported numerous events where she has hit him first. On the night of the February incident, before they got in that car that she was seen taking off her shoe and hitting him on the head with the heel.

In light of that, people will automatically assume that on that night, maybe the same thing could have happened. It is no excuse for hitting her,he should of just walked away. However that is easier said than done when you are a hot headed youth with serious anger issues

They brought out the worst in each other and both abused each other. As one insider has said if you are not close to the situation and don’t know the two of them then you should be very very careful to put the blame on Chris Brown alone.

It yet continues to amaze me how judgemental people can be, yes Chris was wrong for what he did and he will pay the price but who are we to judge or to say when he’s paid the price is that not up to God. People kill me acting as if they’ve never made a mistake. Who are you to say he’s not sincere, thats between him and his God. I for one believe in forgiveness and second and maybe even third chances. We all are sinners and fall short.

We all have made mistakes in our lives. I know in the 39 years that I have been blessed to live on this earth I have. For those mistakes I did make I always hoped if I did someone wrong that they would find it in the hearts to forgive me. To me Chris Brown was sincere in his performance last night. He may not have made the wises choice in his actions against Rhianna, and I don’t condone what he did at all. But the last time I checked Chris Brown is not perfect, and neither are we.

The National Coalition For Men (NCFM) calls on Rihanna to discuss her own reported violence against Brown as well if she wants to shed light on the problem honestly.

According to court records and other sources, Rihanna struck Brown in the face “numerous times” before Brown assaulted her (’http://news.ninemsn.com.au/entertainment/768865/rihanna-hit-chris-brow…’). NCFM purports although that would not justify his more severe assault, her violence should not be ignored, and if she does not ‘woman up’ to it then her message will be the usual one-sided double standards that leave female perpetration covered up.

The saying, ‘There is no excuse for domestic violence,’ applies to both sexes. Female violence in relationships is not rare but is often hypocritically deemed acceptable or humorous, such as in the film, Sideways. It is part of the cycle of domestic violence, which cannot be stopped without addressing the problem honestly. Children are damaged just by witnessing domestic violence, regardless of its severity.

If Rihanna sincerely wants to raise awareness about domestic violence, NCFM calls on her to be forthcoming about her own violence and to address the problem honestly.

This morning Ricky Smiley and another guy stated that you should never allow people to count you out and that Chris Brown is a really nice guy. Additionally, they stated he’s pretty much paid his dues and we should allow him to move on. They went on to state how God has a plan for Chris and a few other comments. I agree with a few points they made, but Chris sure wasn’t a nice guy when he was beating on her.

I was a huge Chris Brown fan and here’s the problem I have with him, Chris saw his mother abused, why repeat the cycle? He has spoken about how difficult it was to witness the abuse and his feelings toward the man who abused his mom. This seems to be a non-issue to the many of the people who are responding on this board. It’s one of the reasons why we are so messed up as a society, we just don’t care. We hold people up, even when they are wrong and we make sure to make plenty of excuses for them. People want to say she profited from it and she did this and that. No one was in that car but the two of them and you have people on this board speaking as if they were there and got the inside scoop, when in truth they could care less about any of us. Bottom line, a MAN can handle a woman without punching her, even if it means leaving her! A man nor woman should beat on one another, ever!

Now, why am I even bothering with this, we have a major problem when adults justify the beating of a young woman! That’s why a lot of young girls in MIDDLE and HIGH SCHOOL are being pounded by their boyfriends and are not telling anyone! They hear their ignorant mothers saying Riahnna shouldn’t have done this and that. They’re listening to the boys(men with the mentality of a preteen) laugh and joke about how Chris, “popped” her good and “everybody need to leave po Chris alone.” The message is very clear and adults are making sure of that! Many of the people on this post would give the same sympathy to a child abuser or child molester, which let’s you know the caliber of some people responding here. And no, I’m not going overboard here, how many cases have you heard of a mother knowing her child was being abused and did NOTHING?

I hope Chris has learned and has grown from this chapter in his life. I pray he understands what to do the next time, if he’s ever in a situation like that again (A MAN can get out without punching. It can be done, I’ve seen it happen.). In time, I hope he gets his career back and talk to others, encouraging them to NOT repeat the cycle of abuse.

In parting, my mother was involved with an abusive man. She was eight months pregnant when he blew her head off with a shotgun. He felt that if he couldn’t have her, no one would. My mom couldn’t just, “get over it”, death is permanent. A lot of people said he was a nice guy too. I refuse to repeat the cycle. Lesson learned early!

Marca, again, no proof that the night of the incident she hit first. But my point is not to ruin his career by holding this over his head forever. My point is that we as women need to stop accusing our sisters of bringing physical violence on themselves. The first instinct, it seemed, was to somehow make this her fault, and I think our community has a real problem with that. Was he sincere? Probably. But can we please let him accept the full consequences of his actions without hitting the “but she started” autopilot button. Just sayin’.

Since so many of you feel God’s awesome power should judge
Chris “B.I.” Brown, where was God when Rhianna was popping
off and getting her face tenderized!?

Young black women are lost. You’re not old enough to know
that getting your ass kicked is not acceptable. It has nothing
to do with throwing stones or being without sin, but more to do
with NOT ALLOWING OURSELVES TO BE DISRESPECTED
EVEN IT MEANS NOT DOING IT TO OURSELVES!!!

If you are a female and you think that Chris Brown deserves
better than what he’s getting now, then your fathers did a piss
poor job of raising you. Mothers should be ashamed as well.

I would disown my daughter for letting a man abuse her, I would
execute my son for abusing a woman.

You excuse makers are stupid people. If a priest touches a child he is a piece of trash, Charlie Sheen is a piece of trash, I don’t say, “well what they did is wrong but lets find all of the black people who are trash too!” Stupid fools they are all wrong-no matter what color they are.

You don’t care about a black woman who was abused, because her abuser can sing and dance…you are trash. There are a lot of little black girls and young black women who are being abused and don’t report it-I guess it is ok if thier abusers can sing and dance.

You excuse makers are losers and failures to your Women and need to protect them. Again, there are plenty of good black men out there, stop glorifying the trash because they entertain you!

Idiots.

For those that say he couldn’t have faked that… he’s a performer. This was something that was orchestrated to shift the focus. “Look how sensitive he is. Awww, he’s really remorseful” – had he done that at the Grammy’s or MTV Music Awards, he would NOT have gotten that response. It’s not about talent as much anymore (there are plenty of talented MJ impersonators in Vegas & Japan that could perform equally-well.), it’s all about image and public perception.

And as someone who has been in the music industry for almost 20 years and works now with their legal and financial advisors, his incident with Rhianna was not his first and had there not been papparazzi around, this would have never come to light. These situations are ‘business matters’ where there is a lot of money involved/invested in the artists. They are pawns in some ways, and the labels ensure that their ‘performers’ are shielded and protected as much as possible.

If he wasn’t ‘milking it’ for those entire 4 minutes or so, he would have walked off the stage. Hope they break out the body language/facial expression experts to reveal how truly unconvincing his ‘performance’ was.

Whether Chris Brown’s performance last night was real or fake, he did his job as an entertainer. The tribute of dance to MJ was AMAZING!!!! Job well done. Everyone has a private life, unfortunately because of his status, that part of his life became public. NO ONE IS WITHOUT SIN!!!! It’s not right for us to judge him because there is only ONE JUDGE and we will all have our day before HIM sooner or later. As for my opinion (cause like butt-holes everyone has one) I do believe that he was wrong to put his hands on a woman, there’s no justification. But as far as paying his debt to society, he doesn’t owe us anything. I appreciate the gesture of him giving us an apology, but we are not the ones he has to answer to. As for the fans, I think that is where we as a society has gone wrong. The media said that he owes his fans all of these apologies and what not because he is a ROLE MODEL. WHY are we regaurding Chris Brown as a role model, he’s simply an ENTERTAINER!! So let him entertain….but we as a society; parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, we have the duty to teach our children that by no means is it ever okay to HIT A WOMAN and just because a person is in the spotlight that doesn’t mean you have to immulate their every behavior. Please understand that we are all humans and none of us are without sin.

Chris Brown is human. We all make mistakes in our lives. What if someone JUDGED us everytime we made a mistake the way people are judging Chris Brown. What if people never forgave you for the mistakes that you made. He made a mistake let him learn from the mistake and move on with his life. NO a man should not hit a woman. Have you ever thought that her hitting him bought back memories of his mom being beaten and he did not know any other way to react. If you have not been in his situtation seeing your mom being beat then dont talk about what you would not have done.
