Gucci Mane, Ludacris celebrate Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash 15

gucci-mane

Hot 107.9 in the past has gotten “surprise” guests in the past at its Birthday Bashes such as Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z. This year, for the 15th, they didn’t quite get that star power Saturday night. Rumors of T.I. coming didn’t come to pass. Drake and Trey Songz were in Los Angeles for another concert date.

But the sold-out crowd enjoyed the likes of Atlanta’s hometown boys Lil Jon, Ludacris and Gucci Mane, plus Ciara popped in for Luda’s set. I couldn’t get to Philips Arena until 10:30 p.m., thinking it would go on til midnight but by then, Gucci Mane, the last act, was already on stage. He finished his set with “Wasted” and the show was over at the relatively early hour of 11 p.m.

2 full city blocks of trash after this show. I think Hot 107.9 should be responsible for the cost of the clean up of such a disgusting mess and compel their listening audience to respect the ATL in the future or not give them any more shows to go to here!

Seriously. Who gets excited about seeing a bunch of fools jumping around on stage. I would pay someone not to go see anyone perform like this. It’s truly ashamed what’s considered music these days.

Look up at the skyline on the way into Atlanta today. A nice trashy smog covers the city. How about that for trashy! I guess the people attending the event are responsible.

Everyone has their own preferences for music. I hate rock and roll but that does not make the people who sing rock and roll a bunch of fools. They jump around the stage during the entire concert. I love gospel and when they get the spirit they jump around the stage. There are always going to be people out there where their main purpose in life is to hate. That’s okay there’s a place for you to jump around too and it’s called hell. Also, name a concert or an event where there wasn’t trash left to pick up. Stop this sillyness and get a life.

There was an afterparty at Compound. Compound needs to cough up the bucks and build a parking deck. They seem to have very little respect for their neighbors in West Midtown. And even less respect for their CUSTOMERS. $20 to park and $40 to get it. Please. I bit this time because I was already there, but won’t make that mistake again.

i agree that after many events in the city the venue/area is left in poor conditions. i attend festivals all over the city with my family and large groups and we are always very considerate about leaving the area the way we found it. It has NOTHING to do with what kind of event this was and it is sad that suggestion was even made. We ALL need to be grateful that our city has so much going on, lots of it for free, and just show our appreciation. It is a reflection on everyone that lives here & I just think we could and should do better – I mean you gotta at least try and how hard is it really?

How great would life be without gangster rappers, wannabee rappers, rapper followers. No talented thugs is all they are. Unfortunately these kids growing up aspire to be rappers b/c thats the only opportunity they think they have to “make that money” without having to actually have a real job. And the more ghetto they act the more appealing they believe they are. Everyone rapper raps about the same thing. Selling drugs, Screwing girls, killing people and acting ghetto. All this being said I do respect the Diddy’s and Luda’s of the world. And I know Usher doesn’t fall into this category but he’s an amazing talent. The rest are all up to no good. Bringing the Atl down…. Or should I say the “A”

Concert started on time. Really disappointed about TI not being there. Where was he. No one from grand hustle was there. It did not end right.Gucci left off the stage and no body said anything like “thanks for coming out,God bless you, good night”. Nothing. Yes it was over at 11:00 pm sharp. What happened?

I for one love hip hop but the comments are correct, the radio station or promoter needs to be held accountable for that mess!!! I have been to concerts, games since the arena was built and have never seen anything like that!! I was passing by leaving Castleberry Hills and was blown away!! PATHETIC!!!

YOOOO Waka Flaka sounded like garbage. I just wished he would shut the hell up and get off stage. Gucci was alright but the sound was horrible really. Luda sounded the best on stage. Where the hell was TI? That was lame as hell for not showing up. He knew everyone in the A was hoping for that. It was fun, but it could of been alot better. And for the people who comlain about the trash left behind, people get payed to pick it up. That means they have a job so they can eat so shut up. Music Midtown was the best concert Atlanta ever held.

I just played that video. I think parents should play this for their kids and show them what not to be when they grow up. People actually listen to this?? That’s a damn shame!

HOT’s Birthday Bash usually runs from 6pm-12am in the past at both Phillips Arena and former Lakewood Amphitheater. The lineup this year wasn’t as big as previous shows. I’m also suprised T.I. wasn’t there as well as Drake, Nicki Minaj and Trey Songz. Remember, Radio One has changed managment within the last couple years so no telling whats happening behind the scenes and financially. Still shocked this years show sold out, but I think everyone was expecting T.I. Birthday Bash still beats V-103’s Car & Bike Show and For Sisters Only as well as 95.5 The Beat’s Birthday Bash when it comes to annual concerts.

This has the be the biggest bunch of garbage i have ever seen. Rap has to be the worst sounding music live. Its just pure garbage. The fact that people pay money to go see this is hilarious. I would be hesitant to go even if you were going to pay ME to go see this trash! Gucci, YOU SUCK AND ARE A DISGRACE TO THE ATL!
