Elle Duncan debuts today on V-103’s Frank and Wanda show
Elle Duncan joined the Frank and Wanda Morning Show today. Frank Ski also returned from a recent Rome trip with a group of students for his Frank Ski Foundation.
“This is amazing,” Duncan said at 6:05 a.m.. She woke up at 2:30 a.m., nervous about the new gig.
“I had everything laid out,” she said. “Makeup ready. Food ready. Cereal already in the bowl!”
“That’s just today,” Wanda said.
“I’ll get here,” said Duncan. “See if you can hologram me.”
Duncan had been doing mid-days and was moved to mornings to do sports and entertainment. Miss Sophia was let go recently. Duncan, 27, lowers the average age of Atlanta’s No.1 morning show significantly.
She did her first “Bust It” report, an entertainment summary at 6:47 a.m. featuring Joe Jackson blaming his wife for Michael Jackson’s death a year ago. She played a really long clip from Jackson. “Sounds like Joe has been invading that Schlitz Malt liquor,” Duncan said. “Joe Jackson is a desperate man.”
She also played a clip from “Nightline” in which Diddy defended giving his 16-year-old son a $365,000 car. “You can’t question me about what I do with my children,” he told Martin Bashir rather snippily when Bashir questioned his judgment. She also noted that “Karate Kid” was the top film of the weekend.
“I need a cigarette,” she joked afterwards when Ski asked her how her first report went.
During the 7 a.m. hour, Duncan broke down the Lakers-Celtics game. “You can’t win for losing,” she said, when it comes to Kobe Bryant being compared to Michael Jordan. Duncan said he is the entire team: “He has to take the lead because nobody else is doing it.” She also talked about the new Hawks coach Larry Drew, saying he should bring more respect than the previous one. They also touched on the World Cup though it’s clear only Ski is following it among the trio.
At about 7:35 a.m., she also did a review of the Jill Scott/Maxwell concert. “Why did he cut his hair?” she lamented about Maxwell.

I forgot one more thing. I have to say that Frank really ticked me off about the trip to Jamaica when he says “ladies go get you a sponsor”. He is the first one to talk about women being groupies and going after guys for money. I wouldn’t dare go on a trip with him. Again, I’m just saying…

In defense of Elle, who played a wonderful variety of music on her show, and speaks well, and should never ever use “hood” language. Atlanta, lets give her a chance. I certainly hope she has some input on music selections, and will let her intellect shine.
In defense of Rashan, Atlanta, lets give her a chance. Rashan, I agree that you should let Atlanta know that you have an excellent command of the English language…. I know personally you were taught well by your parents. Rashan let your opinions shine as well as your intellect.

So what if Frank lives in an upscale neighborhood and sends his kids to great schools?! What?! He shouldn’t??? He works, he earns a decent living — he can live and send his kids to school anywhere he wants to!!!! You would, too, if you made his kind of $$$ By the way, not all of his listeners live in the projects or Bankhead Homes! Personally, I can’t stand Frank, but I’m just sayin’.

I saw Wanda years ago @ the former Club Echelon on Memorial & spoke to her & mentioned to her that I was celebrating my birthday too. She completely ignored me & did not even say one word to me. I don’t care for her & I don’t care whether she stays or goes on V-103 because I listen to my cds in the morning or I listen to 105.7, B98.5 & 104.1 Tom Joyner. She is like a lot of sisters in Atlanta, full of themselves & think they are all that, but really they are insecure, unhappy, low self-esteemed b*tches.

I had stop listening to Frank, Wanda, and Sophia because I couldn’t stand hearing Wanda and Sophia’s raspy sand paper voices so early cackling away. And I stopped listening to Ryan Cameron when Rashan Ali joined with her gravel throat. However, I did like Sophia as a person and personality. I just wish V-103 would have a good line-up again so I can listen to only them and not change the station to 107.9 when the V-103 personalities come on to speak.

Factoids:
~Frank Ski does over explain things to as if he is the only that has experienced something. I remember one segment when he went on and on about cooking fish on the grill(versus beef, pork or chicken)…OMG. It was very degrading and annoying.
~Rashan Ali’s voice is extremely annoying.
~Ryan Cameron would be the better person for the morning show.
~Elle Duncan brings some much needed class to the show. Hopefully Frank won’t be threatened with another person who speaks the King’s English. I think that’s what happened to Tara Thomas. Glad the Sophie thing is gone though!!

It’s time to replace these two old timers and bring in a brand new crew. Elle is a GREAT start. She speaks clearly & has a high degree of intelligence, UNLIKE Wanda from the HOOD! If V-103 decides to renew Wanda’s contract, management should require her to take an English course and INSIST she makes all A’s on her report card! Her grammar is DOWN RIGHT AWFUL!

@Freedom… To be honest, I havent gave this any further thought. This is all in fun for me because unlike you “Freedom, I dont spend my time on things that dont really matter. Get a life!!! At the end of the day, you state your comment and she is still on V103. If you dont like her, change the station. I read comments from people who dont know her or Frank and that’s the problem with people today (too judgemental). Go find a job! In reference to your “sparring comment”, this is not a spar, this a rebuttal. Grab a dictionary and understand the definition of sparring.

Ok. Frank Ski – Know it all, too opinionated. Wanda Smith – speaks ghetto, doesn’t pronounce words right, ex: says have when it should be has, this irritates the crap out of me. Elle Duncan – tries to be hood. Ms. Sophia – hilarious. Ryan Cameron – great, but I hate his phony laugh. Rashan Ali – not funny, a follower not a leader, definitely not a good interviewer. Her and Ryan do not make a good pair. Ramona D – very well spoken. Greg Street – should go to speech therapy. Overall this show is ghetto. And you wonder why other people look at us the way they do.

How is Elle Duncan getting all these different jobs? One minute, she’s on the Ryan Cameron Show reporting news on traffic, then all of a sudden, she’s part of the show! Then like a year or two later, she has her own show! And now she’s on Frank and Wanda? I don’t know guys, but something smells a little fishy.
How can someone that’s only been with V-103 a little over 4 years get all these big jobs so easily? Ramona Debreaux has been there [with V-103] just as long as Elle Duncan, and has never been even offered one job yet. So, again, how is Elle Duncan getting all this jobs? Especially with the high unemployment rate in America.

everyone is bashing Wanda but hey the radio station let her go this far and long doing what she does, I always thought someone should have pulled her aside long time ago even when she was with the Mike & Carol show and made her be alittle more intelligent with her act, but oh well now they will need her because Frank is so boring and Elle would not be a very good entertaining sidekick so until they find some other comedien to replace Wanda the listeners are stuck. My suggestion is please please please give it to Ryan that way Wanda can stay -he plays off her very well and I always thought Elle was a great sidekick with him in the afternoon, sorry Rashan I like you but Im just not feeling you and Ryan right now he does better by himself, but I hope yall can find that spark again, good luck to you all

Everyone talks about Ryan in the morning. Have you ever thought that Ryan might not want to work the morning slot. There is a reason he works the Hawks game. Maybe he doesn’t want to give up things that are important to his family. He speaks alot of spending time with his kids. To do am radio and Hawks night time, that doesn’t leave much time for family. Maybe Ryan doesn’t want ot do the work to carry the AM slot. It’s more than just doing radio and going home. Frank has been a great ambassador for V-103. Frank does help promote the station. It is a major step to go from second string to first string. As I remember, Ryan did have his own show at one time. You just don’t lose it for no reason at all.

I miss Ms. Sophia, regardless of him being a cross dresser he was very funny & there was no reason to get rid of him. Ms. Sophia only had the Girl Talk segment all of 3-5 mins. GTFOH V-103 is so wrong for letting Ms. Sophia.Elle SUCKS like seriously who is she? did she sleep with a few people to land her gigs & for the record, she looks like a transgender!!!!!!! & Rashun is HORRIBLE she sounds like a DUDE herself, but yet she is on with the Ryan King why is that? because they were on the A-Team together? Well, you see the A-Team turned intot he F-Team so watch out Ryan! I forgot 107.9 couldn’t afford Ryan either, LOL. Come on V-103, Reggie Ross got it ALL WRONG!!!!! Would someone please take Frank and Wanda off the air (Elle can stay). I tried to watch the Frank and Wanda show on CW to see TI and like clockwork, Frank had to name drop. Let him tell it, he knows everyone and everyone knows him. Wanda yells everything that she says. It’s awful and they are the primary reason I don’t listen to the station until 2p.

All Frank is trying to do is enlighten people and their minds. If the show has become stale to you switch stations. But if you would like more than just music silly practical jokes that have gotten tired and that has been done, v-103 is the station for you . Besides Ryan Cameron has already done what Rickey Smilley is doing as a morning personality at that station. So give change a chance be open to change embrace change it is the only way we can look back and recognize our improvements or failures. Congrats to Elle, Congrats to Ms.Sophia, Congrats to Ryan , Congrats to Rashan, Congrats to the person that replaces Elle. V-103 has not let the city and state down ad they wont start

I live in Athens and when I USED to listen to V-103 in the mornings, but I will truly miss Ms. Sophia. She did bring a bit of comedy to the station in the morning. Frank gets on my last nerve, I get so tired of him knowing and doing everything. He has done a lot for the community and is well acquainted with the other social issues, but can you just shut up sometimes! Wanda gets on my nerves at times too and I do continue to listen because when there are some issues Frank and Wanda do try to go out into the community and help. Wanda can go a bit over board at times, but I think if she would stop kissing Frank’s behind so much she would be a lot better. Congrats to Elle, I did like the music she played in her time slot, but when she is just not good by herself. She made a better sidekick with Ryan. Bottom line is maybe keep Elle and Frank in the mornings as so many of the comments have said and maybe put Wanda on at 2:00 with Ryan and bring Ms. Sophia back. Maybe we can make this work??

letting miss sophia go was not a good move. she was the only reason i started listening to the morning show in the first place.
i think the move was done because frank ski is a homophobe and from reading some of the comments posted here, several of you are homophobes as well. the thing about all of this is if you are comfortable with who you are- you are not impacted in any way by who someone else is.
atlanta is one of the gayest cities in america and miss sophia repped a huge part of our community. i am sad that i won’t hear miss sophia in the mornings. she is too funny. i long for the day when people especially so-called “Christ”-ians will truly follow Christ and be loving to all.

I like Elle just not by herself and I do think she needs to let the hood thing go. Frank, I can not stand he is very arrogant and annoying to listen to. I think Ryan and Wanda make a good pair, I definitely loved hearing them in the mornings when Frank was gone. Sophia glad he/she is gone annoying as hell! Rahsan Ali, I didn’t like her when she was on 107.9, her voice, annoying! Ryan was doing fine by himself and now driving home from work I don’t listen to him at all!

We as Concern Citizens, Taxpayers and Constituents of Clayton County, Georgia; would like to make a SPECIAL REQUEST for Local News Radio Stations to RAISE AWARENESS and SHED some LIGHT on this Public Issue concerning CORRUPTION at its WORST at the HAROLD R. BANKE JUSTICE CENTER, located at 9151 TARA BOULEVARD, JONESBORO, GEORGIA 30236.
On Friday, June 18, 2010; approximately at 10: 29 a.m., I had simply contacted the Clayton County Solicitor General office of ELECTED OFFICIAL, TASHA M. MOSLEY (D), about my seventeen year old son, case. Unfortunately, during the initial phone call, I was told that the Solicitor General “TASHA M. MOSLEY has “RE-ACCUSED” the LOITERING/PROWLING” charge which means that Solicitor General TASHA M. MOSLEY brought the case back up.
We would like to know why did this Solicitor General CONTRADICT the Judge order? Why did Solicitor General “TASHA M. MOSLEY (D) RE-OPEN this case back up? And what LEGAL RECOURSE did “TASHA M. MOSLEY have? Because Judge RICHARD BROWN completely DISMISSED the “LOITERING/PROWLING CHARGE.
In addition, I would like to ask a FAIR question, why do we have JUDGES? If this Solicitor General OVER-TURNED a JUDGE VERDICT?

I remember when Frank came to v103 I was crazy about the morning show. Frank, you and Wanda have had a good run there on v103 but I know its time for both of you to move on to bigger and better things because it look like the radio station needs to go in a different direction.

I have love for all, Sophia, Frank and Wanda but have to admit stopped listening a couple of years ago… Finally, It’d become something I was no longer proud of.
Let me say in Frank’s defense that his viewpoints are the main reason I continued to listen for so long. He has, I’d imagine, made a sacrafice to his intellect over the years. Noone, in my opinion, from your group of personalities can replace him…
As far as him speaking to the listening audience like we’re “children” (I was reading on someone elses post), I think you’ve misunderstood the slow steadiness of “the bull” and if I were able to afford it, my children would be in the best schools as well…
Elle does seem to have the intellect and quick wit to provide metro Atl. with what it needs during the AM, but I believe that the show would do well in providing tastefully – represented diversity to a city that thrives as such…

My wife and I had a similar conversation about this topic. Rashan and Ryan is too much for one time slot…someone needs to tone it down and few notches…I’d prefer if the tone down came from Rashan…she needs to counter the silly Ryan with the intellectual Rashan. Just my two cents…

Okay so for starters i really miss Sophia!I love Wanda aswell as Frank to death they are great my opinion on elle is she’s VERY VERY LOUDDDDDDDDD and that really gets on my nerves tone it down honey everyone see’s you an stop trying sooooooo freaking hard to fit in with the crowd you’re so not a good match sorry find yourself hun:)And as far as Wanda needing to watch out no don’t think elle could touch her with a 2 foot pole!The bust it report is a total waste they could have left that slot EMPTY bc elle is a true pain in my AZZZZZZZZ!!!!
