95.5/The Beat is holding a free concert May 22 at the Mall at Stonecrest featuring Jay Sean (left, with top 5 hits “Down,” “Do You Remember”) as well as Atlanta’s rising star B.o.B. (Top 5 hit “Nothin’ on You”) and Travis Porter (”Go Shorty Go”).
The event, which runs from noon to 4 p.m., will also include a fun kid’s activity area and a D&D Custom Car Show, as well as all the Beat DJs: Murph Dawg, CJ, K-Dub, Maverick, Mami Chula, Johnny D, Traci Steel, Mo Reilley and Adam.
Rival Hot 107.9, in the meantime, is holding a more traditional paid concert at Philips Arena, its annual birthday bash celebrating its 15th anniversary. The first two artists on the bill are Atlanta’s Ludacris and Plies, who has been at the bash a couple of times before. The concert is set for June 19. Luda was a jock on Hot back in the 1990s before he broke it big. You can get tickets here from $10.79 to $104.

The list of DJs for 95.5 The Beat reads like a boarding list for a short bus.
