The Kimmer gets a podcast gig

Kim “The Kimmer” Peterson has not uttered his signature phrase “Semper Fi” in more than three years despite the fact his fans have been clamoring for him to come back.

Good news: the former WGST-AM afternoon host is finally back – sort of. Josh Price at the Conservative Beacon Web site has convinced the Kimmer to do a 30-minute weekly podcast on his Web site for a test ten-week run. And the Kimmer got one of his old advertising sponsors Solomon Brothers Fine Jewelry to sponsor it.

The Kimmer has been offered a couple of jobs here in Atlanta but from a financial standpoint, he didn’t think they were worth it. He’s doing this for fun, he said.

“I do miss working,” he said. “But it’s kind of hard to complain about doing nothing, too.”

Over the past three years, the Kimmer has missed the chance to talk about Obama, the health-care bill and the economic downturn which has caused his Florida condo to lose half its value since he purchased it. He’s also trying to sell his place in Massachusetts and would consider selling the Chopper as well if he got the right price. He said he’s not in bad financial shape, he’d just like to sell at least one of his properties so he can move to Arizona.

He said he’s always been a news junkie and should be up to speed when he starts the podcast April 7 at www.theconservativebeacon.net. If you want to ask the Kimmer a question, email Price at jprice@theconservativebeacon.net.

His former sidekick Wayne “No Offense” Kitchens, he said, is no longer in radio but back at Delta as a mechanic.

The Kimmer was the biggest local host at WGST until late 2006, when the station dumped him. He left Atlanta soon after. Now WGST has no local talk-show hosts at all on weekdays.

mrs. w, the saddest thing about your comment is that Jesus still loves you, in spite of yourself. And we Christians love you, too. So, hate us, if it floats your boat. Since you reap what you sow, that hate will only hurt you. May God have mercy on your soul.

The Kimmer was on WSB as a news reader before WGST / The NewsMonster. Of course back then he wasn’t known as “The Kimmer”, just Kim Peterson, newsman. When WSB let him go, GST picked him up as a talk show host, and soon thereafter “The Kimmer” was born.

The “Newsmaker line” was Jim Gossett. I believe he quit the show after the station fired his girlfriend. It would be great if he and Kimmer hooked up again.

Hey Jack Coffee,
Why don’t you let a few whites or at least conservative blacks into the Congressional Black Caucus first? You lefties are all about diversity, show us all how truly diverse you want to be.

Hey Jack Coffee,
Just a thought. Aren’t you sort of dealing in ‘hate speech’ with your sheet comment. By the way, your ex-KKK member Byrd in the senate says hello.

The Kimmer always made the long commute home enjoyable…or at least more barable. The closet I have found to a show like his is on 1160AM from 3 – 7:00 called The ManCow Show.

Ignorant conservatives in a red state like Georgia can never have too many people telling them what to think. This isn’t the way to get your information, people.

I’ve got a bit of a liberal bent, and I found Kimmer’s views on US foreign policy atrocious, BUT I have a sense of humor. Kimmer WAS hilarious! He did politics on his show but he made fun of politics far more than telling people what to think or preaching at people. Oh, the times he would get angry and start yelling or the times they’d play Wagner with Kimmer making machine gun noises and yelling how he was gonna kill the “commie-pukes” was funny. The newsmaker line was inspired. Snake Davis’ Holy Crap it’s Sports should have launched a national career for Snake.

Kimmer was hardly a Rush or Boortz. He was Gonzo Radio and when he did drive-time, I often said Kimmer prevented road-rage.

Exactly “You’re”: Kimmer was ENTERTAINMENT!!!

To say conservatives got their info from Kimmer is like saying liberals get their info from Colbert. It’s freakin’ COMEDY, guy.

Russ at 2:26 got it right. Conservative or liberal, it’s hard to believe people actually thought this guy was entertaining…unreal. It’s akin to saying comedian (and I use that term VERY loosely) Ron White is entertaining. Jeez people! Get out a little.

It figures that an Obama-loving, socialist like Ho would give us the wrong link. Can’t wait for the Kimmer’s podcast. His brand of conservatism is unique, we need more like him on the air to get us out of this mess that Obama/Pelosi and their Marxist friends got us into. Double-digit unemployment, two wars, bank failures, bail-outs, health care “reform” it’s all Obama’s fault and only the Kimmer can give us the real truth, not the what the liberal-based media tells us to believe. Sempr Fi Kimmer!

What a loser. Please disappear for all times “Mr. Kimmer.”
How about his lapdog- – “Wayne.” A great talent.
How do we get creeps like this on the air?

Funny isn’t it…”the Rimmer” was an alcoholic who beat his “fantasy goddess” and got thrown out of their house off Piedmont Road. He was cited for beating some other dude on Peachtree St. Yet our “law and order”, “conservative” RINO’s on this website sing his praises. Hmmm – What is it boys? Are you all secretly gay for a big, tough Marine typist from the Vietnam era?

Evander Ho Chasing Holyfield

Then there was GI Jerk’s call for our troops to be put in harms way…and for what? A war in Iraq that had NOTHING to do with 9/11. The pic above was taken at his “Give War A Chance” rally. How did that work out for America Rimmer? 4000+ dead Americans and a trillion dollars later…

“Evander” sounds like an expert on all things gay.

25 million Iraqis were given freedom by our military. Too bad you feel compelled to spit on the sacrifice of 4,000 war dead and the service of many others.

I don’t. I honor them and thank them.

You phony neo conservatives make me wanna hurl.

Run along now RGB-I think Hannity is about to come on and I know how you like to “fantasize” about him. Don’t forget your Kleenex and lotion…

Poor, pitiful people. He’s doing a podcast, for God’s sake. This is not exactly vindication of his talent or his political views.

No one wants to hire him, because he doesn’t get the ratings. He knows it… radio programming directors know it… the only people who don’t seem to get that are his “blind sheep” fans.

This is comical. It’s been fun to see how far he has fallen.
