Radaronline reports NeNe Leakes’ son arrested on drug charges
Not much from the NeNe Leakes camp lately – until now.
Radaronline.com got an exclusive, finding out that one of Leakes’ sons Bryson Bryant was arrested for a minor pot possession charge. He ended up at the Gwinnett County Detention Center on March 7, the report said. The online publication also nabbed his mugshot (top left.)
NeNe released a statement this afternoon:
“Like any parent, I am disappointed with the actions and arrest of my son, Bryson. Certainly, my husband and I will deal with this family issue in a private manner. My son is not the first young adult to experiment with marijuana, and he certainly won’t be the last. Still, as parents, this is a chance for us to have an open dialogue with him about the dangers of any substance abuse. I realize as a parent that my job is never done. And as I’ve tweeted, tough love was in order. Still, I ask that you respect our privacy during this trying time.”
Earlier she Tweeted the following:
My head is up & held high this morning because I KNOW the parent that i’am! U hate 4 yo kids 2 make mistakes! TOUGH LOVE this morning
She also noted that she will be on Bravo’s “What What Happens” live on Thursday night. I’m sure the host will ask her about her son then, too.
Bryson popped up on occasion the first two seasons of the show. He entered college season one, appeared to drop out season two. He also wanted to be a party promoter.
We’re still awaiting to hear the cast members for season three of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Reports have said Leakes has been gunning for more money. Given the success of the show, all the housewives should be getting hefty raises. Production should also be starting soon.
Broadcasting and Cable confirmed that the show is coming back, along with a new “Housewives” edition out of Beverly Hills.

I don’t like saying it, but yes, THE SHOW IS NOTHING BUT A TRAIN WRECK and as you all know, EVERYBODY loves a train wreck!! It’s the best of all the housewives shows, but it really takes an in depth perspective to appreciate what’s really going on. To see Sharee` trying to come up with her clothing line and Kandi trying to revive her recording career serve as good examples of black women trying to do something positive. That being said, the rest of them are just showing their azzzesss (Nene, Kim), but I can’t say I’ve made a decision about what exactly Lisa is trying to do. For the most part, she’s already raised achieved most everything you could want in life. A career, family, hobby, friends and money. She can go anywhere in the world and do whatever she wants. It seems now she’s just trying to expand on what she already has. The only shortcoming I see she has, is her mouth. She runs it, and then lies about what she said or did. Kim was telling the truth about her telling her about Nene clowning her in the limo. I peeped that long before the finale when it came out.
All in all, it’s still a pretty good show and is positive for the most part.
I wish Kandi the best in reviving her career. She just needs more air play.

NeNe has been no example for this boy which is why he’s throwing his life away. He was supposed to be going to college but I’m sure he didn’t have the grades to get in anyway! These women do not represent real housewives who are working to earn a decent living. They are some lazy women who married rich and are living off somebody else’s money (except for my girl Kandi). This is NOT just entertainment…it’s a REALITY show so this embarrassing mess is really going on and they are airing it for the whole world to see. Such a disgrace to the race!

Here’s what humors me about all this. Nene holding out for more $$$??? Is this a joke? You know how easy it is to replace an uneducated, ghetto, no talented chick who causes drama in Atlanta. Well it’s official, he is now a bona fide Thug!! Anyone that watched the show could see this coming. There is no doubt in my mind that he will continue to have brushes with the law and there’s really nothing that anyone could do about it, including his mother, who I wouldn’t consider a role model either. To sum it all up, anyone who says that they don’t need a man in order to raise a son is somewhat mistaken. Had he had that person in his life then he probably would have turned out better.

The saddest part about this show is how Bravo has selected these African America women only to exploit the AA stereotypes. The comment said earlier is so true. Its a disgrace to the race. And the 1 white girl they picked is complete white trash. But on the other hand I guess this is what gets rattings. The funny part to me is how some of them think they are celebrities b/c of this show. The truth is they are getting embarrassed everytime a show airs. I’m mainly talking about Nene and Kim. I think Kandi does have some class and I do respect her.

Seriously people, you complain about this show and suggest that they do not represent “real” housewives. Do you think people would tune-in to watch a show about “real” housewives doing laundry, running errands, going to work, cooking dinner, behaving like true ladies, etc? This is meant to be entertainment and if you don’t understand that boring shows do not produce the ratings needed for it to survive, then you have no idea about how television works. Nene and Kim make the show. Without them two, the show would go the way of the Snow chick. Most every scene either involves Kim and/or Nene in drama with someone else. So, if they lose Kim and/or Nene, especially, Nene, the show will be all but over, real fast, quick and in a hurry!!

It’s only an embarrassment, if you act the same way. I don’t act the way they do, so it’s not embarrassing to me. It’s just something to watch on TV and good for NENE, make those people pay you. I am not a fan of NENE, but I am a fan of getting money, and I hope she gets hers. Whether they lose houses or not, they move right into a another a few days later, so they must have more money than most people typing on this vent.

If you watched all the housewife’s, New York, Orange County, NJ, all are going thru the same thing. It’s not just Atlanta. Orange County got served eviction papers on-air. This same housewife that’s getting evicted showed up at a party with her 2 teenage daughters, who were drunk. They rode in the limo with their mom and dad and both claim they didn’t know the girls were drinking. Then to top it off, the girls were cursing up a storm, totally disrespecting their parents and other guests. Another housewife’s son got arrested in Orange County as well. do don’t keep saying only the Atlanta housewife’s are thugish, hell all of them are.NJ housewife’s turning over tables at nice restaurants……
I love to see how dumb these people are by airing all their business on TV.

I don’t think that the fact that her son getting charged with a minor possession charge is any different than any other kid. There are kids from every walk of life buying and smoking the stuff!!! I don’t know her personally, but a parent car raise their child the right way and give them everything they need to succeed, but if the child allows peer pressure from the society in which we live in to get the best of them, then they too do the same thing. The show is strictly for entertainment and who cares about what they do and don’t we have our own lives to live and families to raise. When I watch the real housewives of various cities, I see bad behavior from them all. Being rich and of other races have no business showing their butts either, but they do it and people like it. If it was too good to be true, then most people would not want to watch it anyway, most people like drama.

Ummm, I have an ounce of intelligence (heck, maybe even a pound), and I love the show. It’s entertainment. I don’t tune in for intellectual stimulation. I watch it to laugh.
Although I’m a white guy, I don’t think it’s any more or less damaging to Atlanta or AA women than any other Real Housewives. Honestly, the women of the OC or age-obsessed bimbos. The NYC women are raging biatches. The Jersey women are, well, Jersey women.
Nene’s kid needs to get his act together and not let this turn into something bigger. He always seemed like a nice, respectful kid on the show. Nene needs to kick his butt and straighten him out a bit.

I do agree with one thing, this is strickly entertainment since Kim and Kandi are not housewives. Last time I checked the dictionary a housewife is a married woman who manages her household. That’s why Shawn left the show she was my favorite. I like Kandi problem is she a’int yes I said a’int a housewife she’s a housemom. The real issues is we are confusing our young girls. Okay people get real. NeNes son is just a young adult learning life’s lessons. I happen to know him personally and he is a GREAT person. I’m so sick and tired of people acting like they have never went through anything as a young adult or as a parent with a young adult. Half of the rich white kids in Sugarloaf Country Club are smoking pot. And that is a fact I know plenty of them personally. They are friends of my young adult. I don’t pull the race card but this had to be said half of the white kids in Sugarloaf Country Club and all of the other Country clubs smoke pot. Brice is not the only one. As NeNe said this is a personal matter and no parent wants to see thier kid in any kind of trouble. To the people hiding behind this blog stop FAKING. Where are your kids on the weekend? Who are thier friends? Have you done a drug test on your kid? I dare you to do it and then post on this blog. You’ll be surprised. I’ve had to come to some realizations with my own young adult. I look at the Housewives of Orange County they have the same problems. Why is it that this story was opened up for our comments but the story on Ben Roethlisberger(Steelers quarterback) was not! So a kid smoking weed is open for public discussion but a professional football player accused of sexual assualt is not! Not to mention the Roethlisberger story concentrated more on the lawyer he’s retained and the lawyer’s previous clients…to take the emphasis off of Ben.

First off, that was just a bad pic. Had he tilted his head back juusst a lil bit more and really grilled the camera, that would be a thug mug shot. Anyway, no one’s perfect! Plenty of people experiment with weed and get caught. Hopefully this will be a lesson for him. Now, The Real Housewives of Atlanta show is trash. It’s based on DRAMA! I consider myself to be pretty intelligent and I watch the show. It’s only entertainment people! It is not a reflection of the race! It’s not even a complete reflection of Atlanta! I’m getting really fed up with people acting as if AA’s don’t make damn mistakes! On top of that I’M SICK AND FRIGGIN TIRED OF BEING A DAMN HYPHENATED AMERICAN. I know my history and heritage and I love my culture, but I’ve never been to Africa. America is my home and I’d really appreciate it if this country got rid of that crap. That was my marginally off topic vent. In any event, I’ll be tuning into season 3. I’m immensely entertained by rich people, who have enough money to know better make train-wrecks of themselves!

Understand that he might be the stepfather, but that’s only a title, especially if the mother doesn’t allow you to be a father figure and to help raise your child.

Marijuana use itself is not that bad, it’s the marijuana laws that are the problem. If someone chooses to consume marijuana, they should do it responsibly. Why do people always have to bring Jesus into the fold when something like this happens? Most times when you see thugs/rappers who have just been involved in a shooting, etc., they all have on gold necklaces with a cross, emblems of Jesus. It’s the height of hypocrisy. It’s like as long as they claim to be Christians, they can justify their car jackings, shootings, etc. Give me a break. Pull up your pants, take the grill out of your mouth, learn to speak English, and act like a civilized human being. Maybe then you’ll be respected for who you are. It gets harder and harder to live in this city, because it’s seen as nothing but a big ghetto.

This city isn’t a big “ghetto” just because of these damn idiot housewives. Its not easy to raise a child in or out of the spot light..Yes, after watching the show I could see that her son has been spoiled. No matter what we think or say this is her son and she loves him very much. He is acting out of some need to be in the mix of what is not accepted and unlawful. Most of us have tried MJ at one time or the other and have not been caught by the law and name put on the news. Our parents were not well know, but had our parents been know we would be in the same position. So stop judging and give Nene support as a parent and a woman. I raised mine and its not easy, they do have minds of there own. No matter what we say they still do what they want to do right or wrong. And as parents we are there to try and fix the situation. Where did he get the drugs from? With no $ or job, who supplied him? My problem with all of this, after reading NeNe’s responses, it’s too late to handle the problem in private. When you agreed to do the “ignorant tv show”, you wasn’t concerned with “privacy”. Me being a responsible parent, I never rewarded my child for “being a bomb”. NeNe and her husband rewarded her 17-18 year old son with a $40,000 (plus) truck from Malcom Cunningham’s Ford dealership. What had he done to “deserve or earn” this type of gift? He dropped out of school. He won’t get a job. He lays around the house without good hygiene. The bases of my comments are things I’ve seen on the show. NeNe and her husband allows this behavior and now drugs are involved. The “real realty is” NeNe and her husband was “renting” a home that went into foreclosure, and yet, they flashed $40,000 (plus) on a toy for someone underserving. If you had this type of $, you should have been “purchasing” you a home and monitoring your teenage son. Instead NeNe was more focused on being on tv and acting like a fool. I’m still wondering how Kim ever got on the show. She’s not a housewife. She’s a bought tramp by Big Papa (a married man with no intentions of divorcing his wife). Whether Big Papa is happily married or not, he’s not going to make a “housewife” out of Kim. Kim is in denial. Keep it real Kim, you are bought, just like the “ring” he gave you. Forget the jewelry Kim, get the man (all of the man)!!!!!!
I think NeNe, Kim and Sheree need to focus on what’s important. It’s not material things!!!

I totally agree with Puddin. It’s not just the Atlanta housewives that are going through the losing their homes, kids acting horrible, etc. mess. They all are. And, seriously people it is a show. Don’t you know that you can’t beleive everything you see on tv. I love the show!!!! All seasons, all casts! Two thumbs up!

Really those of you who do not enjoy the show, you have a remote..use it. The show is for entertainment, the more drama, the more it is watched. I enjoy the show for its entertainment value. Come get a grip on what is real people, we have two wars, homeless people, earthquakes, kids killing kids, people dying from lack of healthcare insurance. millions unemployed, floods hurricanes and the sad list goes on and on. Yet some of us can find the time to criticize a reallity show, where folks have beautiful homes, cars, plenty food and clothing, living in almost crime free, safe communities. Come on it is not that serious, it is TV!!! Those of you who don’t like it . that’s fine..go volunteer at a homeless shelter or countless other programs that could seriously use your help..while the housewives of Atlanta, are on for that hr. or so… .now that is really REALITY!!!

What I’m not understanding is how they deliberately try to mis-lead the viewers, initially stating that they live an extraordinary life etc… And… it’s looks like to me, they all are just launching careers. I’m talking about NY and Atlanta. I don’t watch the others, I like NJ, they were most genuine to me, they weren’t trying to get rich quick with the show. I’m very surprised that Bethany from NY was living with Jill last year, why wasn’t that revealed. So she was actually broke, broke and launched her career when she got exposure from the show. Why lie about having money. It’s obvious that they don’t on all the shows except NJ. All these shows are shameful! and… only for entertainment purposes, obviously!

I feel your pain as far as the Kim and Candy’s “Dont be tardy for the party” outcast. Remember people reep what they sow. Candy was sincerely caught up in that mess. And Kim dragged her into it. It was Kim that went back and forth as to her story being told. The human side we would want to whip that *!# …but the Godly side- vengence is his -keeps you moving. Hopefully if u are on the nxt season sofen up girl. You are beautitul outside lets work on that inside to complete the package. Thats a STAR up frount.
