‘Idol’ tops Atlanta ratings, Miranda Lambert big on Atlanta country radio

I was out last week so here are the ratings for the week of January 11-18 in Atlanta primetime just for the record. The opening episodes of “Idol” broke one million viewers in Atlanta. That doesn’t happen much anymore period.

Some top cable shows nationally
–As usual, the WWE on USA drew 5.4 million viewers.
–The penultimate episode of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” grew to a record 3.8 million viewers.
–ABC Family’s latest “Bring it On” film brought in 3.7 million.
–Atlanta’s TNT was happy to see “Leverage” open its winter season at a solid 3.7 million viewers, though “Men of a Certain Age’ dipped to a series low 2.9 million on January 11.
–Lifetime’s “Project Runway” opened at 2.9 million, down from 4.3 million last fall. On the bright side, 2.9 million was about the average viewership the rest of the season and was comparable to the opening season five on Bravo.
–”Fantasia For Real” opened at a promising 2.3 million January 11, the top new series in a year on VH1.
