If you’re loyal to any of the particular radio stations below, here are the songs you heard the most from each station.
Averaged over an entire year, some stations (such as the Beat and Star 94) played a song nearly 3,000 times or 8 times a day. For others, such as V-103, it’s more like 1,000 times.
The two top 40 stations (Star and Q100) played the Fray to death. And Shinedown was popular on both rock and pop stations. Urban stations loved Jamie Foxx’s “Blame It.” On both the Bull and Kicks, north Georgia’s own Zac Brown Band had the most played song of the year.

One slight correction – Q100 and Star 94 didn’t actually play anything BUT The Fray’s “You Found Me” all year long…

There are several songs on those top 5 lists that I like. And that is also why I choose to listen to satellite radio – FM is the new AM.

The Death Cab song is “Cath…” — amazing what a difference one letter makes. I didn’t even recognize the title “Cash” until I realized it was a typo.

Is this what people in Atlanta without sat-radio or MP3 players have to settle with???? My heart goes out to you. May the day never come when I find myself with digital music, sat-radio, or CD’s. This lot sucks!

What is sadder? The music listed above, or the concept that someone actually blogs about it?

It’s a good thing I didn’t move to Atlanta for the radio stations. Between crappy music, idiot conservatives, bigger idiot liberals, morning shows that suck horrendously, and washed-up ex-UGA players who couldn’t identify zone coverage even if Larry Monson’s rotting corpse drew it on a piece of paper for them…I’m surprised InfiniCumuloChannel doesn’t pull out altogether.

This survey demonstrates exactly why I have quit listening to music on the radio. And when they’re not playing the same songs over and over again, they’re running either running commercials or laughing at themselves and chattering incessantly.

I do hope we get some new ‘guy radio.’ There’s not a whole lot for us any more. I find myself switching between WABE for news & 680 the Fan, and that’s about it. And Rude cannot get back fast enough on 680. I hope he gets well soon, they need him. Great sense of humour, and he keeps it flowing.

Occasionally, I wonder if I’m missing anything by not listening to commercial Atlanta radio. This list confirms that I am not.

Everyone knows radio in the ATL is drek. The only station that has any spirit is WMLB 1690. My Sirrius subscription is well worth the money.

I really expected Dave’s list to be nothing but The Police and U2. Seems like everytime I flip by there one of those two is on. They both suck so I don’t know why they get played so much.

Is there some point in publishing the top songs on oldies stations? I’ll bet when you check back next year (not that you should), they’ll be exactly the same…

Rock radio is dead. It’s been splintered into narrowcast genres that are tedious in their unrelenting sameness. I found myself in a place where I had to listen to DaveFM – long ago, the ‘all rock, no rules’ station – for days on end and wanted to put a bullet in my head, rather than hear Counting Crows ever again. Argh.
I will agree though, that AM 1690 is the only radio station out there that isn’t an all-day insult.

I question the validity of these. After all, there’s not a single Eagles tune in The River’s top five.

Hey guys, check out http://www.thunder1043fm.com. It’s not an Atlanta station because it’s a class A station in Dahlonega. Pretty good mix though. You’ll find nothing like it on the radio!

Myself, I find the Sirius/XM quality to be not much better than a poorly made MP3…that alone keeps me away from it.
More Zac Brown and Steve Earle….that’s what we need…folks of that vein.

These list of songs arent correct. I live in ATL and i listen to the radio alottt!! the station that mostly repeats the music is STAR94..And if you want a great morning show listen to The Bert Show (on Q100) Its the best radio station and has the best mornig show. Ive lived in many other states and by far this is the best morning show ever.ATL has good music but yall are just making comments and assumptions because of the Wrong list of top songs listed above!!!
