No surprise (yawn) that Irina won. Season 6 was easily the most boring season yet. Has anyone seen Andrae? Santino? Zulema? Thank God for Tim Gunn, he's the one constantly steady and entertaining participant. And yes, Lifetime commercials are the WORST!!!

P.S. Carol Hannah's first outfit was the best outfit of the entire evening. Too bad she couldn't keep it up.

I think this season suffered from a lot of things, most notably Lifetime's dedication to change NOTHING, and yet at the same time to too-painful and too-frequent absenses of Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. The latter effect robbed the designers of having a consistent narrative thread of criticism, which you can tell guided designers (and chastened some) in previous seasons. Irina to me seems like a hybrid of Chloe and Kara Saun: polished, impeccable, smart, market-savvy, really well tailored but not fashion forward. But she deserved to win. My only gripe was putting Althea over Carol Hannah. Althea brings very little beyond this supposed "street cred" to the table. (SHE'S hip? Really?) Carol Hannah has the greatest potential of the three. She's a little uncertain of herself, but has a great eye and just seems the most artistically inclined. I think we do forget, though, this might be the youngest group of finalists.
Here's hoping Lifetime wakes up for the next season, so we can wake up as well.

Um, excuse me dude but in case you never saw the horsie-romance episode of "Bones" on TV:

You've been punked. Project Runway was PUNKED. Irina's "winning line" was a flatout and obvious PONY FETISH collection, right down to the equestrian helmets and the models PONYTAILS! I was sitting next to my college-age daughter, screaming this at the judges, but to no avail.

How appropriate that this dud season should end as farce!

I was disappointed that Irena won, but I knew she would from the moment her show started. She had the edge because she did something few PR contestants do. She actually put together a real fashion show with a specific plan (like the hats, bags, shoes) to show off her collection in its best light. She was impressively professional about it and the judges noticed. So many contestants just throw there stuff up there and hope it looks good.

That being said, I liked Carol Hannah's stuff a lot more. I know I'd never wear anything Irena had up there but if it was cut down for a short gal like me, I'd wear some of Carol's dresses for sure.

My big question is WHY does everybody in fashion say they want something that's edgy? Edgy often means unwearable and too far out there. I'm not saying everybody should be wearing twin sets and khaki pants but there's a beauty in well-made clothes with unique lines and thoughtful color choices. Chloe showed us that. Just because a designer makes crazy clothes worn by models wearing goth makeup doesn't mean it's automatically superior.

Going into the final 3 I fully expected Irina to win. Not that I was happy about that. She earned the name mean. And unfortunately, unlike the ones we loved to hate in prior seasons, she wasn't even fun. Actually, as the final show unfolded over the last two weeks I got hopeful that she might not win. Maybe if you could see her collection up close it would have been more impressive. I didn't think it was any better than the other two on my television screen.

Poor Carol Hannah. What a nightmare. Imagine getting to that opportunity early in your career and getting the flu right at the height of the moment. I liked her clothes. I never seriously thought she'd win though. Not edgy enough.

I was hoping Althea might pull it off. I wouldn't wear most of what she did of course but fashion shows are rarely about what real people wear are they?

Totally agree about the judging this season. I enjoyed the season but it definately didn't measure up to some prior seasons. As far as watching the show it didn't bother me that they were in LA. Just seems like it makes more sense to have it in NYC, but whatever. I'll definately watch next season!!

very disappointing finale IMO...Irina's collection lacked diversity and felt cold and emotionless to me. At least Carol Hannah had some pieces that moved me, some knock out pieces really, and at least she knew how to use color.
