Report: Sheree Whitfield off ‘Real Housewives’?
Mediatakeout, which is often right but sometimes wrong, reports that Sheree Whitfield has been booted off “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” citing no concrete sources.
The Bravo publicist artfully dodged the question when I sent her an email asking her whether Sheree is gone:
hey rodney. bravo hasn’t made any decisions about season three yet. feel free to circle back and hopefully soon i’ll have more info for ya
I’ve sent emails or text messages to Lisa Wu Hartwell, Sheree herself and Kim Zolciak and have not heard anything yet. I’ll update this if I get any responses at all.
I’ve heard similar rumors and facetiously gave the greatest odds that Sheree would be out a couple of weeks ago (2-1). In an unscientific blog poll of more than 3,300 people, 29% wanted NeNe out, 26% wanted Sheree out. Kim got 19% of the votes while Lisa got 16%. Kandi was the most popular, with just 10% wanting her gone.
Bravo has not officially renewed the show but given its strong ratings, there’s 100% chance the show will return in 2010.

a ‘fashion line’ bearing the name of a reality TV show character a “success” and it’s not in a major dept store? what boutique in ATL has single-handedly made that crap a “success”?? True designers are rightfully disgusted by the number of untrained bootleg designers cropping up from these reality TV shows. furthermore, there wasn’t a single buyer in the front row of the showing, only a bunch of booga-boos hogging for camera time. Sheree has acted like she’s all that on-air and off-air…it’s sickening to see a no-talent black woman conduct herself in the manner she does. (Not that NeNe is any better, but she’s better suited for the role of firestarter on the show). Hope the door hits Sheree’s backside hard as she collects that last check.

This all adds up to a more entertaining show than New Jersey. Sheree has all of the quality ingredients necessary to make for a hit reality TV show.

I think Sheree’s fashion show was well produced and her fashions were what’s out now in today’s fashions. It was a lot better than Lisa’s. Lisa’s fashions could not compare to Sheree’s or any professional designer. Lisa can’t hang with the big dogs. Who knows, maybe the show gave her fashion line too much exposure. At the end of the episode with the fashion show, it was posted that her fashions would be in a store of which I forgot the name of it. Maybe Sheree should get her own reality show….everyone else has had one or is currently under contract with one. I thought Sheree had a bit more class than NeNe, and if anyone was a “ghetto” NeNe was. NeNe was like trying to hang with the big dogs, and was trying a little too hard. ATL seems to have a very large hater base and it was circling right around Sheree.

At least Sheree was a real housewife at one point. Kandi never been married, Kim is trash, Lisa should have went to the Hawks games to find a husband instead she went to the Falcons games, and Bravo needs NeNe for ratings. Dezee I take it that you have no formal training and that your comments are not those of a professional critic. However, I do take exception to Sheree being called a fashion designer and here’s why: it is an insult to those students studying at fashion institutes all over the world in hopes of making their dreams come true to have a fashion line. I mean students learning real dressmaking skills and techniques. How is Sheree any different from the rest of us when it comes to her clothing line, she is not, just as I depend on someone else to design the clothes I purchase in stores, Sheree is doing the same thing, she is allowing someone else to design the clothes with her name on the label. The real credit should go to the woman who had to designed and sewed the samples for Sheree. I buy these cheap mass produced clothes for my teen daughter and I always have to embellish or change something so she doesn’t look exactly like someone else. Does that make me a fashion designer? I don’t think so. Creativity is great, just back it up with formal training and know what you are doing. That no-fashion-show thing Sheree had well I realized she didn’t know anything about textiles or any real clothing making knowledge, she just knows what she likes but it doesn’t mean everybody wants it or likes it enough to buy it.

The show is entertaining, I must admit. I hate to see anyone lose a job especially in these economic times. However, people love drama and if the network removes Sheree from the show, then they must be bringing someone in with a bigger ego than Nene. Which her ego is BIG enough for everyone. I guess we’ll have to stay tuned and see what happens next season! Kandi is the only “real” person on the show that earned their money not thru marriage but by working hard and being the independent woman that she is. She’s so humble, that’s a quality the other women on the show should imitate.

Sheree frankly is indifferent about returning to the show. She really wants to be respected as a REAL fashion designer and hanging on to the DRAMA-FILLED show will only hurt her in the fashion industry. I didn’t have any favorties on the recent season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I thought that if Bravo was going to let any of them go, then it should have been Kim. Kim is a disgrace, and especially so when it comes to young girls and young women who watch the show. Sleeping with a married man and being proud of it is not cool. Kim was wrong for that and so was the married man. That is not a situation that I would knowingly tell people about. It is not okay to air dirty laundry, nor is it ladylike.
Why would Bravo boot Sheree? She may not be a favorite to everyone, but at least she is trying to be sucessful with her fashion line and is not focused on dating sorry men. I think the She by Sheree line will do well. I just think that the show needs a makeover as far as getting more women on the show that represent excellence. As with all social issues, I look at the messages that the show sends to our youth and what they must be thinking. The only woman on the RHoA that anyone should look up to would probably be Lisa. She seems like such a sweet, respectful lady with a solid marriage, or so we think; she is also smart and stands on her own two feet while holding her on ground. The rest of the women seemingly exercise poor judgment, but I wish everyone well.

The reason I don’t watch the show is because of Kim and Big Poppas children. I do read this blog to keep up with RHOA. I feel like Bravo acted irresponsibly by casting Kim. She has children, he has children, what do they say to their children. Sheree and Nene, can you believe them? I mean really! The other disappointing thing is 1) they do not seem to have a history of charitable work or philanthropy, 2) there has never been any mention of their religious beliefs, values or which is their house of worship, 3) there isn’t a college degree between the five women. Kandi does appear to be the exception with her independence but she is responsible for song. Kandi the song is whack ok?

I would like to see the show continue with 1) real housewives and 2) more than anything else real black women making a positive contribution to their families, communities, cities, states and society. I seen enough of the catty, backbiting, rushing to judgment, jumping to conclusions and I am so my crap don’t stink. Time to recast with real women, women really balancing living, careers and family and making it work, that is the kind of inspiration I need, from someone I can really identify with, thank you.

I find it hard to believe that Bravo would proactively seek to remove Sheree given the drama she has provided. If anything, Sheree may be pulling a Paula Abdul, demanding more money and mistakenly overestimating her contribution to the show or just being her typical difficult and self-absorbed self and Bravo has had enough. Someone just checked you boo!
