DailyFinance reports that Lou Dobbs will have his first post-CNN interview with Bill O’Reilly on Fox News Monday.
O’Reilly defended Dobbs over the summer over the “birthers” controversy. The New York Post, citing unnamed sources, said this was the last straw for both Dobbs and CNN brass. He is giving up $9 million by leaving early, the Post said.
It’s unclear if Dobbs has a non-compete clause in his contract that prevents him from working immediately with Fox News or its sister station Fox Business.

Good for him to get away from that biased CNN station….hopefully he will show up at Fox News….it was a smart move for Glenn Beck….Fox is the only news station that tells the truth of what is happening to our country with this corrupt administration.

One thing they will agree on..The Obama administration is the most idiotic group of people this country has ever had the shame to be under. I count no less than 6 issues that would be SCANDALS if the media didn’t have a tingle down their leg for this obomination. America got what they deserved. You made your bed America. Sleep in it.

DC, please get real. Obama is a piker compared to GWB, who belongs in jail AT BEST. Obama may not be the greatest leader, but the whole world is better off now that the GOP no longer controls the U.S. govt.

Sicca, GWB belongs in jail for what exactly? How is the world better off? Redistribution of wealth? Less security from Muslim extremeists? A nuclear Iran? A nuclear Korea? Global warming that does not exist? Cap and Trade? A weak dollar? You are totally clueless! Enjoy the fact that you have the opportunities the USA provides you…..

For those people that think Obama is indecisive, it’s worse. He’s clueless. He has no idea what to do. Trying to survive his Presidency is like trying to kill off a hockey penalty and keep from being railroaded long enough to get some sense back in Congress by 2010 and anyone else at worst and a conservative at best back in the White House by 2012.

If Lou Dobbs resigned rather than be muzzled by CNN, then he is showing the integrity that he showed every evening on his CNN program. Since when is CNN middle-of-the-road and unbiased? Have you listened to Campbell Brown and that fool Roland Martin and the numerous “experts” every CNN program has every day? CNN is every bit as opinionated as Fox–just at the opposite end of the spectrum. Lou was my only reason to watch CNN and I look forward to following him wherever he goes.

Oh yeah, you might want to tell Shamity, Limbug, O’Clowny, Shrek and Snobs!

Ryan,
Bush belongs in jail for authorizing torture and illegally spying on Americans.
One example of the world being better off with Obama in office is that with Bush or McCain as president, there is no doubt that the neocons would have pressured those two idiots to take full advantage of the election fiasco in Iran in all the wrong ways. Instead of the so-called “dithering” over whether to send more troops to fight a war in Afghanistan that a majority of Americans no longer support, we’d be “surging” in Afghanistan and Iran, because dolts like Bill Kristol and Michael Ledeen would tell us we’d be greeted as liberators.
Please, please, please show me one way in which wealth has been redistributed under Obama?
How many Americans have died at the hands of Muslim extremists since Obama has been in office? How many had died at this point during Bush’s first term? Who’s kept us safer?
A nuclear Iran does not exist.
A nuclear Korea existed when Bush was president.
Look, you can be stupid and think man-made global warming has not occurred, but do yourself a favor and don’t look like a complete idiot by saying that global warming itself has not happened. Are Republicans that proud of their anti-intellectualism that they refuse to acknowledge reality?
A weak dollar? HA! Yup, let’s just sweep aside years of financial oversight neglect under the Bush administration and complain about a weak dollar. I’m sure American exporters may disagree with you, though.
I’m amazed that you would think there are still opportunities in the USA, considering that you and your ilk think we’re in a facistnazicommunistqueerlibrulillegalafrican state now.

Remember, this thread is not about Lou Dobbs as the title has defined it – “Dobbs first post-CNN interview”. This thread is about Obama as President as the posters have defined it. Posters rule! We don’t care about the topic! We will talk about whatever we want!
Gay rights, Gay rights, Gay rights!
Palin for President!
Atlanta must have a Black mayor!
Texting while driving is none of your business! I’ll do whatever I want in the privacy of my automobile!

Jay,
Thank you for putting Ryan in his place. He is obviously one of the people that gets his news from Dobbs, Hannity, and the rest of those clowns. Why do people even consider these shows as news. They consantly lie exaggerate and distorte the facts. I would be willing to bet you that most of their viewers think wrestling is not fake.

You know what just blows my mind is that people who are republicans all of sudden can’t remember what has happened over the last 8 yrs. America was attacked by extremist, an american city and region drowned, 2 wars & 1 off of pure lies, they talk about how government & the deficent is growing, and socialism. Americans were spied on, they grew goverment, they clasped economy, North korea & Iran became nuclear, the rich got richer, and the poor got poorer, big oil robbed us along with insurance & credit cards companies etc… China “owns” us. Our education system is poor “jobs” were lost because of this people how in the world can we elect to these very same people back in charge. They killed our young men & women in the military off of lies and not responding to americans who needed aid during an emergency crisis , they recked our economy, by losing jobs and shipping them over seas, over spending , and growing government. And that people is the absolute “truth”.

GABOY you must have had your eyes closed during LBJ. He gave us the war on viet nam, the war on pverty and his own war on Social Security. It was LBJ that started using SS funds in the general budget, how many Trillions are we in the hole because of these moves ? Bush’s war in Iraq pales in comparison as far as cost compared to LBJ.

Michael davis, just about everything you said above has happened prior to eight years. During Clinton the same world trade centers were attacked as well as 5 differant overseas american locations. The credit card thing is fuuny, credit card companies have always been the same. Education has fallen over the last forty years. Bush was not a good potus but you history is way to short sided. Kennedy spied on people and FDR locked up american citizens if they they were of Japanese decent. It was carter that went to korea for clinton in 1994 in committed billions to them to stop nuke production. they took the money and did not stop the production, get a clue !

Who cares what Lou Dobbs does? News programming should be to tell us what is happening, not interpret or spin it.
Most of us, who are not “Dittoheads” or “Becker’s Peckers” can figure it out and decide for ourselves the whys and wherefores.
Just read the freakin’ news, decribe the car wreck, don’t try to tell me who was at fault. I can figure that out without your particular slant.

Another one bolts the biased and LW CNN…Journalism in America is DEAD…CNN NBC MSNBC dont even try to hide their views..Every day they try to slant the news to prop up Obama..If they think Americans don’t recognize that then they are dumber than we think they are. In my 30 plus years as a adult I don’t recall a President doing any worse during his first year in office. Obama is a Disaster, He lied during the campaign, has broken almost every promise, Lies about “SAVED” jobs, back peddles on Afghan, Lost 800B in stim money, cant even SAY the word terrorism then insults 9-11 families by brining the circus trials to NY…and thats just the tip of the iceberg..It’s been a Obamanation..

I agree with Tony T about Shepard Smith, he is a terrible news anchor. Lou was the only reason I watched CNN. He was hated because he spoke about the illegal immigrants. None of his news stories were false; he spoke the truth. I wish him well and I hope to see him on another station.

You all are IDIOTS if you think this move by Dobbs has anything to do with politics and partisanship. MONEY TALKS FOLKS (just ask Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity) and Fox News is the highest bidder right now. They’ve got their strategy right: buy up the competition’s commentators and in turn make them look less credible, thus draw in more viewers. These guys are OPPORTUNISTS, please don’t believe otherwise. O’Reilly, Hannity, Limbaugh, Cooper, Brown, all of em. Call it left or right, as long as it provides them $$$ and OPPORTUNITY these guys will sell it, and the sheep of America buy it every time. I tell you what, partisanship will be the ultimate demise of this great country. People have the wool pulled so far over their eyes that these guys are able to sell you ANYTHING. I weep for what America has become.

Man these comments sadden me. I really weep for what America has become. Gone are the days where people had views of their own. A politician is a politician, whether he/she has R or D behind their name is irrelevant. “Let’s pit the people against one another so they’ll overlook the fact that we’re swindling this country out of its livelihood.” They are OPPORTUNISTS, very few of us get it. That this blog turned into an immediate discussion about Obama really speaks volumes. God help us all.

The fact that this blog is not staying on topic is a testament to the fact that Fox and Dobbs appeal to a very small minority of people. Doobs’ fans are that 20% that identify themselves as right wing, social conservatives. The 80% of independent and liberal voters are not sitting on the sofa watching TV every night between the hours of 7:00pm and 10:00pm. That’s for the Geritol set. Fox and Dobbs go together like orange juice and Metamucil.

When people were ceaselessly bashing, insulting and humiliating President Bush, these clueless “Obama Supporters” (who came out of the jungle for the first time ever in 2008 just to vote for a man because of his skin color) NEVER said anything like:
“Here”s a news flash for all you [ Bush ] haters… whether you like him or not (and he could care less if you did) he is the President of this United States of America, the most powerful man in the world. And when and if you wake up every morning for the next [ x ] years and [ y ] months (at a minimum) he will still, be and there’s not a thing you can do about it!”
The buffoon who made the comment at 1:46 am on November 14th did exactly that in defense of King Obama, but where was this person when the *previous* President was being insulted hourly on The AJC, V-103 and CNN?
Hmmm ???

I think our best hope is to only vote for independents in the next election. We will never make progress bouncing back and forth between two political parties. My hope is that this would make voters look at what each candidate stands for instead of ‘he’s the Republican, she’s the Democrat, she’s the minority candidate, he’s the white candidate’, etc. Voting independent will eliminate the leverage that majority Congressional leaders can hold as they won’t be able to vote along party lines. Maybe I’m living in a fantasy land, but back in 1776 there were a group of people who had a hope and a dream about a land where independence and freedom would be inalienable rights. Maybe history can repeat itself.
