George Lopez is not a positive role model for Hispanics which is sad. He grew up hating white people but should have turned that around as someone who realized the American dream and have beaten all adversity. But instead continues to hide in covers of comedy and ethnic pride to promote hate. As immigrant non-whites, we have a lot to learn from white people’s ignorance and mistakes. We can’t imitate what the whites did thinking we can always get away with it.

Jose, Chris and I both understand where you are coming from, maybe your name is really Billybob and it’s a strong possibility that you were just born the wrong skin color. I’m not even a Mexican, I’m Puerto Rican and I am proud of any Latino that breaks down the barriers and sets a tone of success for himself, because in doing so, he is openning the doors for all of our children. You should take a long look in the mirror and really think about what you are saying.

BTW, get educated on the show biz. Initial ratings do not tell the whole story. Give it some time and you (and everyone else) will see that George Lopez’s show will not be a long term success. Time will tell, but time has already told it, just look at what happened to The George Lopez Show.

Chris: you so reinforce the stereotypes people have about Mexicans. Oh, and it is “George”, not “Gorge”.

“The Jay Leno Show” hit a new ratings low Monday night, while the debut of George Lopez’s “Lopez Tonight” posted strong and promising numbers.

Leno registered a 1.15 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic, its lowest A18-49 rating to date, reports the New York Times’ Bill Carter. Carter notes that NBC uses the A18-49 metric “to define success because of the number of advertisers who want to reach that group.”

Meanwhile, Lopez premiered strong on three Turner networks, averaging 3.2 million total viewers across TNT, TBS, and truTV. The show premiered on all three networks, but will air on TBS, where it averaged 1.7 million total viewers and 1 million A18-49 viewers.
