‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ reunion part 2 recap: wake me when it’s over!
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion, part two, proved that Bravo did not need a part two.
The fundamental problem is last year’s reunion was such a blockbuster, there was virtually no chance they’d be able to match or exceed it. And they didn’t. The women were downright staid, attempting to be dignified. If we wanted dignified, we’d watch “Masterpiece Theatre.”
The first hour last week did have a few revelations. The second? Not much. One: Kim Zolciak stayed in tune during the chorus of “Tardy for the Party” but struggled with the verses when she attempted the song live. And she had no particular rhythm on stage. She also denied being a stripper. Rather, she said she was a waitress at the Cheetah and got good tips. (True? Not true? Who knows?)
I did enjoy the pursed lips and sour looks on the faces of NeNe Leakes and Lisa Wu Hartwell while Kim sang. Then they proceeded through gritted teeth to say it was fun and had a good beat. That’s like Paula Abdul saying the lousy singer looked pretty.
And Dwight Eubanks showed up and Kim slipped out that he had a penile implant. Dwight was not ashamed. ‘Nuf said there.
Lisa did get into a testy exchange with Dwight, believing he was not classy critiquing her fashion show right after the show (which she believed wasn’t exactly a fashion show because it included music and other elements. Semantics!). He was not apologetic. She compared it to her going to his salon and insulting his work there. Then she compared him answering NeNe’s question about Lisa’s show as if he were asked to jump off a cliff, would he do it? Not exactly a fair comparison.
And will Kim ever take off that wig and show us her real hair?
Oh, Sheree Whitfield was there, too, but was a virtual nonpresence this hour. I emailed her earlier today asking what she thought of Bob’s comments about her on that Internet radio show (that he had created a Frankenstein.) She has not responded.

This episode was the lamest I have ever seen. I think either those women were on Prozac or there were Orders of Protection. Dwight needs to go and the producers need to STOP stereotyping gays in Atlanta. We are not all flamboyant, wear high heels, huge handbags, etc. Dwight is letting his big head make him annoying!

I enjoyed season 1…season 2 was a wash. It seems that all of the housewives were acting for the camera. I felt that there was very little integrity about the way the show was produced this season. I didn’t really get a feel for the “housewives” lifestyles (raising children, married life)…most of what I saw centered around artificially created drama. At the reunion show, it was completely boring. I understood that it would be a somber occasion due to Kandi’s ordeal, however, when questions are asked and the ladies answered, it is clear that there are omissions and half-truths and true phoniness in the responses. If another show is in works for season 3, I would really like to see an ENTIRE new cast of women who really represent the elite Atlanta (whether that be wealth, class, status)…no more wannabees and those trying to come-uppance.

This had to have been the best episode I have seen. There was no drama, and I know these girls like to go at with eachother at every chance they may get as its part of the rating but I have to say that they all kept the peace with eachother out of respect to AJ, as his death was caused by drama that was not neccessary. I believe that Ladies were representing that tonight without saying it.

I waited all week to see 2 reunion shows that were like “sour grapes”. Lisa looked like she was hiding her face and was made up way over the top, I always liked Kandi, and her song is nice. Kim with the performance of tardy for the party was….you know OMG!!!! Sheree, please get rid of the bangs. Ne-Ne was clearly acting for the camera. I wish she would just be the “tell it like it is” person we came to know and love.
If this is how they are going to perform on Season 3….Kandi has a song about what the producers sxhould do…”trade em in”.

Unfortunately this will be the last time I will watch the Atlanta housewives. Kim you were just annoying and bitchy, I used to be a fan but now I am not.
People watch the show because you are real, “REAL HOUSEWIVES!!!!” it is a shame that Season 2 reunion was all fake, you are not actors in a movie but reality stars. And once the “REAL” in reality is gone then you are boring.
Hopefully Orange County will not make the same mistake, I have no hatred but wanted to express my opinion that I loved the show and now I am very disappointed.

This was the lamest and uninspired reunion show I’ve ever seen. I not only blame the obvious tight-lipped made-up “real” woman, but the host. He got in a few jabs but an interviewer he isn’t. You can’t just ask a hard question and gloss over the non-answer, sheesh. And why wasn’t there a real audience? And what no TMZ to see “Big Poppa”?
And please on all the “book releases”, reading of scripts and “planned” clothing line hitting the stores.
This whole reunion show didn’t need a part two. So very wack. Watching it worked better than Ambien.

I have a feeling that the truth would have really hurt NeNe. I mean she met married Greg while stripping at a club. She was dating Greg while he was married!! The RH Reunion this year was a snooze fest compared to last year’s reunion. I was waiting to see Kim and NeNe get into it and also waiting for Lisa to flip Kim over the couch like she threatened last year! This time around it seemed as though Bravo had something to do with this mellowed down version of the housewives. I really believe that; there was “supposed” to be a lawsuit between Kim and NeNe due to NeNe allegedly choking Kim a few months back. Bravo may have told them to cool it, which could be why everyone was acting very peculiar for the reunion this year. I also felt that Lisa was holding back a lot and it seemed as though she wanted to slap the s*** out of Kim! I wish she had! Kim cannot sing, that much is apparent, and while Kandi is very likeable and successful, I prefer her as a songwriter, but to each his own. I don’t believe for one seocnd that Kim and NeNe are done with the fights and arguments. They will get into it again, but whether or not the public will know about it is unbeknownst to any of us. The good thing is that for once, the ladies seemed to act classy, but why be fake? I know that there is discord among them, but whether we will see it again, who knows?

I’ll say it again. All you people want to do is bitch and moan! First they are ghetto and a horrible example for Atlanta. But, when they tone it done and behave like respectable ladies, they are boring and not being REAL! Make up you minds. You want drama which equals GHETTO or you want ladies which equals SUBDUED and yes, BORING!!
For me personally, I like the drama. It makes for great tv. I don’t watch the show then take to post complaining about it!
However, my take on the show last night. I was very disappointed, because I felt they were acting for the cameras. I think the comments about them being too ghetto and a bad look for Atlanta has affected them. (As it would any person.) So, there was a lot of acting and evading the questions that would create drama. The tension was there, but they were holding back. Would love to see them all next season as themselves and not in these new boring acting roles!

I guess I am naive, but I agree with others who have posted about Bravo having something to do with the snoozefest. Of course these women probably don’t hang out in real life. But the change in Nene since last season and Lisa’s comment “I’m gonna flip you over the couch”. So to me something is fishy here. While Dwight is a bit feminine, I still think he’s a good addition to the show. Good have done without seeing him in that getup he wore to run down the street in heels.

In regards to Kim’s comments about being a waitress at the Cheetah, as a former assist.manager for ten years at the Cheetah, I do not remember Ms. Zolciak as an employee dancer or waitress, yet I was only there for ten years, and she may have come after my tenure, and if she did, she would definitely have to have been a waitress for she would have definitely been “Too Old” looking to be a stripper, and yes, even strip clubs have “standards” by which all dancers are measured. She looks more like a “Gold Club” stripper reject to someone actually familiar with the industry.

Not to sound as if I’m disappointed not, I think this is a regroup damage control, these ladies have checked themselves and realize it’s not working. So how do you get right you become humble go behind the doors and come out fighting. I think season 3 will have a lot to offer us if we give it a chance, but it will be up to the ladies and maketing. We must all remember this is entertainment. I think NeNe needs to be true to herself she just ol country girl from Athens,GA. don’t be shame claim it. Lisa you could be a force to reckon with but because you try and be the one always politicaly correct it’s not working. Honestly I think Sheree could be replaced she is hood/ghetto but maybe that is what keeps the show interesting. Kim is Kim I must say she probably is more closer to being realy than any of them with the exception of Khandi. But next season surely we will get a chance to see Lisa new home that she down sized to I know it’s beautiful all of that land( Lisa you should have horses). Where Kim and Big Poppa stand and how her wig business is going, if Sheree is still around her fashions, exercise video by the time season 3 comes around she might be “the incredible hulk Sheree”. Khandi to find out about her music how she is doing with Capitol Records, and her new clothing store. NeNe also mentioned she would like to get into acting I don’t think so boo you too Old bam! But you can definitely do extra and from my understanding it pays well or you may actually luck up I do wish you well. What you heard is probably correct. Kandi said in an AJC interview while showing pics of her home that the other ladies were upset about the way that Bravo portrayed them so they were making it a point to “be Mother Theresas”. To me it does seem like all of them minus Kandi (who has behaved just fine all season) had made some sort of pact to not take any of Andy Cohen’s bait on the reunion show. I personally hope there is a whole new cast for Season 3 with only Kandi and maybe Lisa staying on.

First of all, they had on extremly too much make-up and they all looked a hot mess because of it. Dwight’s make-up looked better than the others and that’s bad because he’s a man. Kim has had some work done to her face and it is very noticeable because it wasn’t done very well. She needs to find another surgeon and fast! These ladies are really fake, so much so until I thought that I would just puke on the floor. For everyone that watched the show, let me ask…what did you expect to get out of the show? If you expected to be educated or uplifted, go to the library or go to church. This show was designed to drive ratings whether the women were portrayed accurately or not.
Kandi is awesome. She is the epitome of an authentic, strong Black woman. She doesnt try to hide her flaws or uphold a pretentious image.

Doesn’t this blog have any stories about the Saucer Mom? And that adorable Balloon Boy? Nancy Grace savaged the Saucer Mom and yelled on television to the Balloon Boy, “What is wrong with you? You’re evil and horrid and wicked and rotten, you dirty little rat….”
And then in practically the same breath, Nancy started in on the breaking news about those 11 women’s bodies found in that serial killer’s house, and yelled at this guy, “You are evil, sir, you’re horrid and wicked and rotten….”
Then, when the Fort Hood story broke, Nancy Grace used the same condemnation on the postal muslim as she did the balloon boy.
This is what has happened to news and entertainment. And all that mugging that Grace does! All that furrowed brow wincing and grimacing.
Just speak the copy and forget the brew ha. Nancy Grace is a disgrace to journalism, as is her clone, who does the exact same thing on another channel. Imagine being both a hack and a mime? These two women come across like berserk emoticons.

I thought a “housewife” implied that, um, I don’t know, you were someone’s WIFE???? My guess would be that the ladies completely planned on sabotaging the normally drama-filled reunion because yes, they are ticked at Bravo. More noticeable, it was obvious that Andy Cohen was REALLY getting on their nerves with his “valley boy-meets-gay” expressions and attitude (shocker – not). They’re over him, and I think the ca-ching of dollars from doing the show might have to be raised considerably if they want them to perform to his satisfaction.
Ok, regarding Dwight – this is the most pathetic joke of a person any should could put in front of a camera. He doesn’t even qualify as a gay stereotype. Maybe if Liberace and a performer from Cirque had a love child it MIGHT turn out this way, but I think even Liberace had better genes than this. Dwight would be laughed out of any gay group I’ve been around.

Did it bother anyone else how Kim told millions of people about Dwight’s penile implant? He handled it very well, but it appeared that she was trying to humiliate him. It was a really evil and hateful thing to do.

Can someone PLEASE show me where it is written that the house wives are supposed to be representing Atlanta? I thought they were representing themselves. It just proves that there are so many mini morons in the world to believe that 5 people can represent an entire city, its culture and values. Television is to entertain and inform, not reflect values.Bloggers learn to separate the truth from fantasy. They are called Real Housewives” as a joke!

The so called reunion show part 2 was indeed a mess.All five women except for kandi were just putting up for the camera.i kept asking myself during the show “is this all atlanta could come up with this set of low classy thrashy set of women.what a big shame..Lisa is such a big snitch she likes to see the other women get at eachother’s throat and she is so afraid of nene.Kim and Nene should pls be replaced in season 3,kim with her fake boobs fake everything should find something better to do with her life and leave her so called “big poppa” alone to his wife and kids.Sheree stop thinking you are all that,u definately need a reality check.kandi pls i have a lot of respect for you and dont think you should be part of this messy group of women called “UNREAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA”.

I got pulled into the first season for the drama content, and the underlying feeling of ‘do people really live like this??’ The second season felt so orchestrated, though…from the beginning of the season, Nene was trying to take full advantage of her 15 more minutes, so it was no surprise that most of the drama involved her on some level…she’s seen loud and obnoxious be beneficial in the past (a la New York getting her own show after Flava of Love), and knew what she was doing. So in comparison, the reunion show was BORING! I’ve got to admit- they pulled themselves together, and managed to exhibit some restraint (and dare I say, some level of class for being willing to do so)…but let’s be real- we don’t watch the show because these are ladies of restraint. The host was trying his best to get the dirt, but seemingly the women had come to some kind of agreement before the show to try and act appropriately…but the rolled eyes, smirks and screwed up faces couldn’t be hidden- the look on Dwight’s face when Kim let “slip” about the penile implant was priceless! I think he was embarrassed in a “you don’t need to put my personal business on TV” kind of way, but he did handle it with grace. But on a side note, between that make-up and plasticized face, I wonder how old he really is?? He strikes me kind of like Joan Rivers…doesn’t look young, but doesn’t look old (for their age) either…but obviously has had a long life of procedures being done. Kim may or may not have been ‘making out’ with the guy on the street, but there was an obvious familiarity there- she wasn’t being comforted in a strictly platonic way. It was irritating the way she wouldn’t make any admission even after seeing the tape. It’s an example of why I’m sad/ glad to see the see the season end. Sad, because I enjoyed the show in that car crash kind of way, but glad because it just kept getting pettier, and pettier. Nene, has been on a long slow descent, Kim was proud to be the stereotypical dumb blond, Lisa seemed cattier this season, and poor Kandi- the only one with class…I don’t think she realized what she was getting into.

Kim is a pathological liar. She swore up and down that she was not making out with that guy on the street, even when they played the video clip showing her and the man hugged up and kissing. She really has a lot of mental issues. To lie like that even when the evidence is presented is indicative of a very unstable person.
I like Kandi for the most part, but I really wish she would be honest about Kim’s singing. She always sugar coats everything and has a problem speaking the honest truth about Kim. She needs to really see Kim for who she is – a lying, manipulative user who will do anything to anyone to get what she wants.
NeNe was showing her potential acting skills because she definitely wasn’t being her usual self. NeNe’s 15 minutes of fame is coming to an end and she knows it. I guess “keepin’ it real” wasn’t so great after all. I’m not sure who bought her book, but I certainly wouldn’t waste my money to take advice from her. And, what is she doing to help others with her “supposedly” domestic violence charity? She has one event a year???
Lisa was defensive with Dwight because her feelings were really hurt about his comments regarding her “fashion viewing”. She was jealous and can’t admit that Sheree’s fashion show was better than hers, thanks to Dwight. Lisa has a “holier-than-thou” attitude and believes she is better than everyone else. She’s messy and stays quiet so she can gather information to pass on to the others. I wish she would stop talking about making babies…who cares! Plus, it’s not like it’s her first or second, it would be her fourth child.
Sheree is manly, cold and downright mean. She could stand to take some counseling sessions to help her get over all of the issues and become a nicer, friendlier individual.
Dwight is great, even though he looks like Plastic man. He says what he wants without any shame or fear.

O.K. So nothing happened from any of the drama queens. Haven’t we had enough? Can we move on from this mess?? And, if this the Real Housewives of Atlanta, can’t all the cast be married?? Not engaged, not having a booty call, not prostitutes, but married for real. Not divorcing, not playing at it, and certainly not faking it. BRAVO, enuff already!! I so agree with M. Johnson. I promised myself that I would not watch this season but got sucked in on the re-runs. First season I was a huge fan of NeNe being that we’re both from Athens Ga. After watching this bull I wish someone who shut that poop eyed, man hands, big foot moose up and please keep her off the front pages of the AJC!!!

Did you say Dwight had a penile implant? I had no idea he ever had a penis. The guy is absolutely the worst stereotype of an extremely effeminate, self-absorbed gay man. He really is like a cartoon. His makeup and false eyelashes are so over the top. Sheree looked extremely hard last night. Her adams apple is definitely bigger than Dwight’s. I do like Kandi. She seems like the only real one in the bunch. Poor Kim trying to sing….OMG! She sounds like my cat when she gets her tail caught in something. NeNe was definitely working her new wig. It’s definitely time for a new group of women for this show. How about a white woman? That would be something new.

Hey there Folks I have to agree with BB it is just a TV show and I do admit to really enjoying Dwight he is sooo funny and I guess is a very good hairstylist in Atlanta. why are most blogs attacking the housewives of Atlanta, specifically Nene and Sheree? Why is there such a double standard between sheree and lisa’s clothing linem, when sheree’s clothing line is obviously the more sophisticated of the two, hands down, and the bloggers slam sheree…calling her a man and that she is ‘full’ of herself and in the same breath call lisa and her line cute? I Sheree suppose to come out and say my line sucks? I find the attacks on this blog, particularly by women of color, horrific… to says the least…crabs in a barrel comes to mind. I don’t necessarily agree with Nene’s background but to slam this woman the way people have done on these blogs is just vile. #1Kandi–I do feel bad for her but why in the world would she go on national TV and describe her A.J’s dead body and how he didn’t look beat up. Did she ever think his family may take issue with this especially since the probably do blame the fight for at least prompting their loved ones death. If that is the case she certainly is not helping their cause. It was not her place to comment on that in that forum.
#2 NeNe is a mess…I’m sorry a MESS. She has gone and found a high horse somewhere that she can’t seem to get off of. She’s a joke and they can find another clown to take her place.
#3 Lisa…another one. Is she serious…short sale, foreclosure whatever the whole country is struggling their is no need for you to continue to front like you are sitting on top of the world..you had a tough time watch the news there are more than enough people that know where you’re coming from. Finally for these ladies to get upset about not being paid for syndication and decided to showcase their grievences by being tight lipped on the reunion show need to get a grip. They are all completely expenable and should be replaced with atlanta housewives that are more legit in their finances, business efforts and relationships than they are. In Atlanta that should not be hard to find. I’m thinking even though she doesn’t live in Atlanta someone like Pilar Sanders with a little more going on would be a good pick.

Yes, the housewives were intentionally subdued for the reunion as a way to show solidarity that they are upset for having the highest rated show of the franchise but not the highest paid. Ive also read that the franchise has been sold to a branch of NBC for 5 days a week syndication and THEY WILL NOT BE GETTiNG PAID FOR IT. I mean yes they are getting the short end of the stick but its a contract— you signed it. Hopefully if there is a season 3 they will be able to negotiate better rates like the RHONY women who reportedly receives 30,000 per episode. Although they were subdued their facial expressions were priceless. You can tell that they REALLY wanted to speak volumes about each other and did everything in there power to keep quiet (i.e. looking up, rolling eyes, heads down, twiggling thumbs, bobbing feet, etc.) Okay here we go.. (you be able to tell which housewives i like and which ones –well not so much)
Sheree: (shaking my head) Honey, i implore you to look up the word class and elite, read it with understanding and then tell us if you will still use those words to describe yourself. You are ghetto.. embrace it. You’re just a squirrel looking for a nut. Ive watched you in several interviews and you don’t come across as a smart woman. You are always perched lovely but your responses are never thought out or cohesive. The money you spend on hair, make up and fabric swatches, you should equally invest in a PR person to teach you how to be interview savvy. Even when youre asked questions about fashion or your own fashion line.. its always very simple responses which dont really show that you have an indepth knowledge about the industry or your craft. I recently saw a picture of you at a scholarship banquet here in NYC and i prayed you were there to see if you could get funding for attending F.I.T.. Is there homeschooling for fashion?

NeNe: A GHETTO MESS. her heir this season is adopted. I have no idea who she is this season.. is that what a book deal and a new subdivision does to ones personality? She tried very hard to be the breakout star of this season by any means necessary. I was so upset when she started the season not liking Kandi without any cause but jealousy. It was funny when she tried to stage an intervention for her son Brice.. she should seek DIVINE intervention for herself. This show has really turned her into a faux diva wannabe celebrity. Sweetie, you are NOT it. All the hair and make-up in the world cant cover up who you really are.
Dwight: I cringe when i see him on TV. He’s another one who tries to be so much more than he isn’t. He’s also let the fame of this show go to his head. I just really wish he’d stop tying those sheets around his neck into windsor knots. He stated on Watch What Happens Live that he doesn’t care what Fern Mallis (creator of fashion week) or anyone says about his GIGANORMOUS ties.. he says his fashion influence is European.. american fashion is very boring. Uhm, which part of Europe are YOU referring to? I don’t think even the most fashionable gentleman would tie a duvet around their neck. please stop we cant take it anymore.

I didn’t see season 1 but was attracted to season 2 ENTIRELY because of the drama. I finally watched the reunion last night and I have to say that I agree with everyone on here: F-A-K-E! In the ladies defense, though, I think they may have been “tame” at the reunion due to possible legal issues between some of them. The down side of switching their personalities from 10’s to 1’s, though, is that it made them look like actresses instead of “reality” stars.
