‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ reunion recap, part one: kissing and making up?
Loading ...So Lisa Wu Hartwell is not pregnant. Sheree Whitfield admitted she’s full of herself and unapologetic about anything. Kandi Burruss teared up over her A.J.NeNe Leakes has a new hairstyle. Kim Zolciak has broken up with Big Poppa – but is still kissing him during a commercial break!
Oh, and Kim and Nene kissed and made up despite the choking incident. Not that anyone believes it, but it sure is convenient to maintain relations for the show’s sake.
Host Andy Cohen annoyed Kim a couple of times by harping on said choking incident and Big Poppa. Good job, Andy!
Among other notable moments:
Sheree is wearing Dolce & Gabbana, not She By Sheree. At least Lisa is wearing a dress from her own line Closet Freak. She rolls her eyes over Lisa’s reference to her own line.
Kandi reveals she broke up with A.J. back in June about a month after that Mother’s Day luncheon in which her mom reconciled with A.J. Apparently, she said, the peace did not hold and A.J. got fed up. She also said he was stressed out about buying the strip club (she called it just a club, not a strip club) and that he scuffled with a manager there. She didn’t seem to know why they had fought. But she did note that the guy who was arrested was beat up quite a bit by A.J. but not vice versa. That feeds into the notion A.J. might have expired due to problems related to his sickle cell anemia.
Sheree said she’s dated but wouldn’t say if she’s had good sex (or any sex at all) recently. She did deny being a lesbian.
Kim noted she is not surprised folks thought she was much older season one. She lightened up the makeup season two so she looked closer to her age. (31). She’s 34D in the chest area. And she continues to drink and smoke with abandon.
NeNe said she didn’t need sex every day. Sheree said maybe a few days in a row, then a break. Kim is all for the daily fix. Lisa? Twice a day! (Go Ed!)
Also, NeNe said Kim was badmouthing her behind her back to the other housewives and that’s what led to the choking incident at Atlantic Station. Kim didn’t deny the trash talking, explaining that she was really tired when she was hanging with the other housewives.
Cohen compared NeNe and Kim to Lucy & Ethel. Kim said “”Thelma and Louise.” How about Laverne and Shirley? Or Itchy and Scratchy – as one snarky person noted on the live blog.
Kim said she’s not being supported by Big Poppa now and saved her money well. Do you believe that? She also said she’d work at Burger King if she had to to support herself. Do you believe that? In the meantime, she still hopes Big Poppa eventually divorces his wife so she can get married to him. Do you believe that?
Next week: NeNe and Kandi fight it out, Dwight shows up and we hear (gulp!) Kim sing “Tardy for the Party” live. (Or lip synched?)

I sat there, once again nauseated, cannot believe I watch this total insincere nonsense.
Kim musst think the audience is made up of fools, she continues to contradict, tell everyone she is finished with that guy and then she comes back after a break and defends her actions. She brazenly flaunts her breasts..who care,it is like a cartoon. Ugh!! She is and has been a mistress, admit it. If not for Kandi she never would have a recording..again a sham, the record producers disguised the awful voice..
Sheree is narcissitic but I admire her willingness to take charge of her life and go forward after an ugly divorce.
NeNe has NO CLASS, who care about her BOOK, the girl can’t speak English, she has behaved terribly this season, it has been an embarrassment.
Yes, it’s not very exciting but it’s cute watching Lisa and Ed..she is an adorable woman who you can tell is somewhat uncomfortable with her trashy counterparts on the show.
Kandi is very talented and should rid her self of that leach, Kim. Kandi is better than that. Who cares what your MoM thought, what did u think of this man? Your hair is too distracting, grow it OUT, love the way you wore it, looked adorable, straight, long and black..much more feminine.

Sheree good job on your fashion show, it was a success. Dwight was quite helpful, has great taste and very honest with his feelings. Kim is beautiful, love the hair. What’s the problem with wearing the wig? They look fabulous on you…the others have weave so why not a wig for Kim. The wigs are flattering and I can tell you did not buy them at the 7-11. Unlike, Nene’s weave…..looks like recycle hair. The hairdo is not pretty, it keeps falling in your face. Nene is SO NOT a size 10 but looks good as size 16. Nene, you should invest in dental work, no teeth on the bottom in the back or practice not opening your mouth too wide. Khandi, the hair is not you but you are beautiful, love your smile….refer Nene to your dentist for dentures. Kim, you are hating on others. not selling real estate, hubby not working, closet freak not selling. Maybe, need to up the sex to 3 times a day to keep things in check.
Bravo should seriously evaluate season 3 an feature some REAL housewives. These ladies don’t eat lunch with their kids, take them to the park, host parties for their children or cook food.

I think the ladies are very entertaining and fabulous.Everyone has comments if you don’t like it turn the freaking chanel!My favorite is Khandi,real I love the fact that she embrasses who she is not what she has.Khandi is vey humble.I have somewhat of the same respect for Lisa to, but what bothers me about her is that she doesnot have custody of her kids. I must say last night the women tried their best to act like ladies ! I was happy and also alittle borned!. They all looked nice except for KIM! her faceand lips looked huge! Shw looks much older than usual! Kim will do and say anything to have camera time! Why is she a part of this group anyway ! Kandi had on too!!!!much makeup last night , The breakup was over many months before the death of AJ. She was very uneasy with the many questions about the whole thing , so why was the host pushing and trying to make her cry!!. Was it me or did anyone else find it strange that Kandi and AJ had really been together about 1 year and got engaged after 6 months…..any mama would have been worried….
Kim is low budget at best, she claims to have a nursing degree, but can’t understand that if you sleep with someone elses husband, that you are the OTHER WOMAN, A MISTRESS, A H*E, AND JUST PLAIN NASTY…..She is raising her daughters to be just like her…..and Big Poppa’s wife needs to show up on next season and slap the wig off of her.
Nene is just misunderstood…..she has a big heart but comes off wrong at times…..but her assessments are definitely on point about both Kim and Kandi…. Yep I said it Kandi does come off as a little “Ghetto” Don’t get me wrong, she does seem like she has come a long way but there is something about her that tells you she can reach back and pull the “ghetto” out when she needs to.

I believe the reason last night was calm was out of respect for the death of AJ. This reunion show was taped ONE WEEK after he was killed. The tension was so thick you could feel it through the TV.
AS for NeNe…I’m sorry she is nothing but a wannabee Jones. It is all over the TV and courts that she and Greg don’t pay their bills..Yet she is so quick to call out everyone else for their misfortunes. Well we all know her glass house has shattered.

Kandi has the same problem with her speech that I had. She speaks with emotions and her emotions get ahead of her actually verballizing what she is trying to say and it comes out confusing. She just needs to slow down when she speaks and things will be audible. She knows how to speak it’s just her words comes behind her emotions and it is not clear. Trust me once I fixed that I had another problem. Now people say I am trying to talk proper. Damn see what happens when you better yourself.

I watch and enjoy the show for exactly what it is – entertainment! Of course the wouldn’t choose a bunch of homebody, no personality having housewives…no one would watch and there wouldn’t be any comments or controversies! Duh! And for everyone who’s like “oh, their reactions are soooo fake”, think about all the snide and demeaning remarks you’ve made about your friends and friend-emies when they’ve done something to piss you off or something that you thought was so assinanine. Now, think about those comments they NEVER hear being broadcast for all to hear and see and let’s see how well you handle what you’ve said and all the comments you never hear them say about you. Now tell me that you would NEVER react the way that some of them do. It’s a pride thing and just because they’re women doesn’t mean they don’t have a pride that can be stung. It’s not to say that everyone would react to the degree that they sometimes do but I guess that’s why you weren’t chosen to be part of the show. As I’ve seen reiterated several times on these blogs throughout the season, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it. TAH-DAH!

- I felt a high degree of tension, if not discomfort, between Sheree, Kim and Nene. It seemed to me as if Kim and Nene had reached an understanding and Sheree was warned to shut up.
The reunion show was dull – sorry, despite the fact I enjoy Kandi this AJ story is not interesting to me. I guess nothing about the men on the show is interesting – they’re not as colourful as are the women. We’re so used to the hair pulling and yelling that we’ve come to expect that from everyone.
The one thing that stikes me about Sheree is the fact that the only proof of her success we have is from her own mouth. Her clothing line was nice – but it’s been months, no? Where is it now? If you go to the website, the line isn’t even on line yet. Any responsible designer would have had her clothes on the web right after the show, if not the very next day. Take advantage of the publicity, instead we are met by a poll about three t-shirts – NONE of which are any good (and trust me, you really do have a good product with that Who Gonna Check me boo – or whatever it was she said – it was hilarious and catchy – hell, I’d wear a t-shirt – IF it were decent). So, it seems it was only about showing the line and little or no follow up. She’s on Television… WEAR YOUR OWN LINE – this is the ideal situation to seel your goods! You think Jill Zarin would have anyone other than Zarin Fabrics design her home/homes?
Anyhow… back to the show… I did get a more realistic view of Kim. She’s genuinely confused about Big Poppa and defensive about her own ability to make money. No, honey… you weren’t even able to sit down to learn about how to work with hair which, I believe, would be invaluable to someone who wants to design/sell wigs. How the hell do you expect me to believe you’d work at a Burger King or clean bathrooms for a living. No way you saved enough to support that 250,000 (I thought it was 150,000) a year spending minimum to maintain the Amex lux card.
In all I think these women are out to make a living; they tare on this show to promote themselves and improve their lives. And in the case of the Atlanta women – a lot of what we see might be feigned just to get ratings. And, it works!

I love the show and will be watching next season for sure.
NeNe behaved so hoodish on the show this season but I think she was prompted by the producers to keep stirring up trouble. She tries to talk proper but you can tell its not her normal diction, girl go ahead and let the hood speak out, you know you want to.
Lisa is so fake, there is something about her that I don’t care for. In one episode, she appeared to have a problem with downsizing to a house that sits on 9 acres of land, please………
Sheree is a wannabe, she comes from nothing, is a former criminal and now wants to look down on everyone else, give me a break.
Kandi is alright on the show but she does need a speech therapist, I don’t know if she has a lisp or if she’s just not fully opening her mouth when she speaks but as a native Atlantan, work on your speaking, please.
Finally, Kim is disgusting,the nerve of her to try and make it seem as though messing around with a married man is acceptable. You need to go and get a real job.

First of all, television is meant for different purposes…whether its educational, entertainment, awareness or anything else. This show is meant for entertainment/a closer look into the life of people living in atlanta which an ounce of wealth. Therefore, some parts are real….some staged…or some exaggerated. For all of you saying this show is horrible or fake, turn the channel!
NeNe- That’s her personality. She obviously had a rough life, so just take her as she is and stay out of her way. She can be loving also. She neutral to me.
Lisa- I like her, she is cool. She tries to stay out of trouble. Her and her husband are worried about their family, and that is proper… So don’t bash her. If she lost her house, so! She still has a beautiful one.
Kim- Is obviously confused with Big Poppa’s intentions on leaving his wife..but you can’t help who you love…
Sheree-she is uptight but think about what she’s been through…she probably doesn’t want to “show her ass” so she just continues to uphold a elegant calm matter, unless u make the bitch come out of her!
Kandi-MY FAVORITE. She is soo real. She is strong and beautiful. Awesome woman!

They are all quite funny. Kim is a LIAR period. She appears to talk about people behind their backs quite often and someone should kick her a$$. She says she has invested her money. She was an LPN and they make less than $20/hr! She is really a stupid woman! Lisa is a fake and it is quite obvious. Sheree is angry with life and I wouldnt be surprised if she was a lesbian (which is her business) . NeNe is so ghetto and full of jealousy. It is so obvious. Last night I watched the RHOA reunion and here is my input:
Kim – I must admit I’m proud of you girly. You stood up for yoruself when asked some questions. You are still the best dressed woman on the show. Remember let your haters be your motivators.
Lisa – where do I start. You looked decent. Best I’ve seen comparing last season and this season. Keep working on the clothes.
Sheree – nice dress you couldn’t do something better with your hair??
NeNe – you have really changed from last season. Last season you kept in real with folks without looking like a hater. This season hateration was ALL OVER YOU. Personally I perfer the old NeNe from season one.
Kandi – first my heart goes out to you on your loss. You are a strong and beautiful sista. You’re far from ghetto (like NeNe). You are classy and talented also. Keep your head up and remember your fans love ya.

For those of you who say “Lame show” you must not have been watching. The drama came not from the words they spoke but from body language. I swear I thought Lisa was gonna flip over the couch when Kim said “I never said I had cancer”. There is so much anger between these woman it is almost painful to watch. Notice I said almost. Season 3, if they are allowed to really be open and themselves will be outstanding. All the true colors will be revealed. Again…they each have their own quirks, some bigger than others but …stay tuned….

If you don’t like the show, then stop watching. Plain and simple! Noone is forcing you to watch this show every Thursday night. Anyway, I have a few comments about yesterdays show. Kim, you get the side eye for claiming to be 31 when you clearly look 50. Stop smoking and drinking so much. Lisa: I think she is pregnant. She gained a lot of weight after they finished taping this season. If they do have a season three, I hope they get rid of Candy, Kim and Sheree. I think it’s time for three new married housewives.

I used to like Nene but it seems to me that for some reason she feels better than the rest of the girls. I think that she suffer a lot as a child and she needs the attention at all times. I love the RHOA!!! Here’s my take on the reunion show. First of all, who does their makeup??? With the exception of Kim, and Nene, all the makeup was terrible. Sheree, what’s with the blue eyeliner??? Nene’s hair was cute, for a change. She definitely needed to change the boring style we’ve been seeing this season. Kim had way too much lip filler. Her lips looked like someone punched her in the mouth! Clothing – Nene and Sheree looked nice. Kandi’s dress was horrible. It looked really cheap. Lisa’s dress needed to be re-fit. It looked like it was too tight, and she did not appear comfortable in it.
On to the comments: Kim is a mistress. Plain and simple. A blind man could see that and it’s a shame that her kids are exposed to this type of behavior. While her and Big Poppa may not be together now, it’s pretty obvious that they will be back together, divorce papers or not. Women like her go back and forth between whomever is willing to spend the money and I’m sure she’ll find another sucker. Regarding the “reconciliation” between her and Nene, whatever. They have to “act” the part so that they can continue to get paid next season.
Kandi – I thought it was appalling the way Andy kept pressing her about AJ. She should have been allowed to have her time to grieve and not re-hash the whole thing on national TV. It was all over the newspapers, we’ve all read about it. He didn’t need to go there.
Nene/Sheree/Lisa – Maybe they’ll have their time next week. This half of the reunion show was very low key and borderline boring.

Can someone please tell me why Kim kept making that smacking noise throughout the show? So annoying. Lisa’s hair was Texas big and she is very messy in her own not so obvious way. Kudos to Dwight for helping Sheree put together that show. I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed Kandi’s speech pattern. Did you guys notice throughout the season how everyone praised Kandi for every little thing that she did? What was that all about? Nene was a different character this year and she might want to think about going back to the Nene from season one.

Please. If you don’t like the show, don’t watch it. Love the show but I do think all the ladies are much more conscious of the cameras this season. They aren’t letting it all hang out. Lisa played it the most safe. I do think Ed is a good guy and that they really dig each other but she seems so p.c. Like she’s running for office. Happy for her though that she is in a healthy happy marriage. NeNe is loads of fun but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY too sensitive. She fights with Kandi because of one random comment. She fights with Kim because she’s not part of recording the song. Come on, NeNe. You weren’t backstabbed. Kim just wanted it for herself. No biggie. Kim’s not your best friend. She’s someone you had fun with. She’s not a soulmate. Move on. Don’t be so needy. You have a book and it’s a big hit. Sheree — oh Lord. Get some humility. Dwight hooked you up on the fashion show. Show him some love. No one is jealous of your success. You haven’t done anything. Kim is GREAT television. I know people don’t like her but I think she’s a fun girl. She makes us all laugh. She has a good time. Whatever. Kandi — I’m such a fan. You’re the one person on the show who is really soulful. You’re an artist. You’re grounded. I’m so sorry for your loss. You are inspiring. Instead of being opportunistic and promoting some simple business venture that hasn’t been thought through, you are sharing your music and your acting. I’m a fan.

By the way, I have to laugh at Sheree being called a “classy badass.” That event planner wasn’t professional but Sheree, you really lost it. I didn’t think that was classy at all. Classy people are gracious and give props to others. You are constantly giving props to yourself. Classy people don’t talk about class or themselves all the time. They make everyone feel as though they’re special. People with class don’t make people from humbler positions in life feel as though they are less than.

You have to know who people are. Kim tells us who she is all the time. And the whole Big Poppa married man thing. Sheesh. Dating a married man is a not a nice thing to do to another woman but NeNe, stop judging. You didn’t seem to judge when you were bff’s with her in Season 1. And stop talking about her wig. Kim looks like she would be fun to party with and she seems to really love her chldren. Also, her children live with her. On the other hand, Lisa doesn’t even have custody of her two oldest kids and she’s trying to have more. That seems irresponsible to me. She seems like a really bad mother. She’s very superficial. She talks about downsizing when the true story about her house is probably much different. Kandi’s great. Nene is complicated. At least she’s a loving mother.

I realize that this is supposed to be a reality show, but whose reality? It is not even 100% reality for the characters (yes, I called them characters) that call themselves Real Housewives of Atlanta.
I watch the show, by choice, as comic relief and an insight into characters (and to give this segment of the Real Housewives series ratings).
The Reunion Show, part one, was bland.
This is my opinion in order of their intros during this season:
• Lisa — Pretty, petite, stylish, happily married, ambitious. She is also appears to be pretentious, sneaky, occasionally exaggerated, disingenuous, and back-biting to everyone except Nene (possibly out of fear). Her various comments give the impression that she is only about “The Money” and then she will occasionally come back with a PC ending to soften the harsh self-absorbed impact. Sometimes Lisa’s action makes Ed look more like an accessory than her husband. Lisa be happy and enjoy the wealth of love in your marriage and family.
Hair — Always looks great.
Alter Ego photo — I did not care for the Gansta Boo concept selected for her. She could have been portrayed better, I don’t see her as a Gansta, or”Hood Rat”.
• Nene — Charitable, a leader, happily married, a caring parent, occasionally stylish, adventurous. She is also a bully, loud, foul mouthed, boisterous, mean spirited, a hater, control freak, sneaky, disingenuous, instigating, envious, snide, back-biting, and overly confident to hide some insecurity. An exaggerated Drama Queen, surrounded by “Yes people”. I read the negativity in her face at Lisa’s Closet Freak showing, Sheree’s Independence bash and other event’s that were not about her., Nene was downright unlikable this season though. She may have “kept it real” last season but she has overshadowed that with negativity this season, not the road for a leader to take. The off the shoulder look did not always photograph well; too many outfits looking ill-fitted. Size 8, I don’t think so. I thought she did well to represent a fuller bodied woman of possibly size 16, size 14 the smallest. The crocodile tears when Greg did not support her clandestine quest to seek out Alan, her “possible/probable biological father” — Please don’t jeopardize the relationship with Greg, don’t lie to him or sneak around. The tears seemed to be more out of disbelief that Greg would not go along with this quest.
Hair — Unflattering during season two. The style was very attractive and flattering during the Reunion show.
Alter Ego photo — The stripper half really shined through; the repulsed matron, eh (and If she was a striper, so what.). The photo was okay.
• Sheree — Pretty, stylish, ambitious, talent to be developed. She is also appears to be so pretentious, self absorbed, and full of it with the elite and go-to people of Atlanta, shows the hood rat gene occasionally. Intimidated by your success… no. Happy that the second attempt at the show went well. I like two dresses in her collection. Her criminal past, read about it.
Hair — Looks good. The very full ponytail at the Fashion Show and the J. Lo side braid at the Reunion show were very flattering.
Alter Ego photo — The BEST
• Kim — Cute through major enhancements, stylish especially with shoes, except the Hooker boots. A parent by proxy. Too much Botox, too much Porn hair, tops that don’t fit her D cups. She also appears to be so pretentious, self absorbed, exaggerated, indulgent, unbelievable, disingenuous, shopaholic; delusional, alcohol and tobacco dependent, people dependent, foul mouth, and vocally untalented. Everyone is NOT a version of you — “…Sheree is the black version of me; Myleik is the black version of me ….,; she’s a mini version of me….” or her line saying “I’m a black woman trapped in a white woman’s body…” Can she go without having wine or a cigarette? I guess that goes with her subliminal desire to be a Porn star with props. What an aspiration and an example for young daughters, that and being involved with a married man. Children emulate their parents. As for her alleged age, she could be 31 with excess mileage due to cigarette smoke.
Hair — Try something new. Throwing out a wig per day at $400 per day synthetic, or keeping the human hair for a week or two at $1,000 plus, damn. Is she too good to wash hair? Love wasting money? Are we living in the same economic time?
Alter Ego photo — Good. I would have liked to see the Afro-American/Caucasian concept.
• Khandi — Pretty, petite, stylish, good parent, talented, ambitious. Speaks through her teeth — open your month when you speak. Khandi has become a fan favorite because she does not bring or contribute to drama; however, she can “get down” and speak up if necessary. I feel your pain with the entire drama related to AJ— parental dislike, estrangement and untimely death.
Hair — Always looks great.
Alter Ego photo — Great
• Dwight — Stylish, talented. Too much Botox (he looked good last season with less). He appears to be pretentious and opinionated. He looked great when he entered Nene’s home for Brice’s “Grooming Intervention” wearing a full length Black Mink, red jacket, black shirt and slacks. The oversized knotted ties are not my taste but that is what works for him.He did an excellent job in assisting Sheree for her show, even with the difference of taste and opinion. His assistance was duly noted.
• Heels on men, women’s heels on men — ugh, eech.

The finale was well to sum it up in one word BORING! I would have liked to see the one they recorded before AJs death! I bet it was good! I really feel sorry for Kim. It seems like she trys to be strong and on her own yet she doesnt know how to without someone supporting her. Nene was horrible this season, last season she was funny and I liked her this season every episode she was arguing with someone. Lisa and Ed both seem fake I mean really the whole rose petals everywhere, Ed cooking dinner, and Having everything ready right before she walks in the door and acts sooo shocked…Yeah right that was totally staged for tv i mean hell she let the cameras come in the bathroom with them! And everyone wants to talk about Kim being a bad influence on her kids well why does Lisa not even have her kids? She-RAY has very low self esteem you can tell by how she trys to make herself seem so high and mighty and acts like she is Gods gift to the world! And i feel bad for Kandi I really liked her but not to speak ill of the dead but I agree with Kandis mom! Hopefully part 2 will be better!

I watched last season and followed it, I won’t say I loved it but I followed it. This season was just too Ghetto Fabulous. It’s a mentality people. Ne-Ne was so full of hate and jealously she is truly too old for that. She resents Kandi for being younger, accomplished and more talented. Basically Kandi bring more celebrity to the show than Sasquatch AKA NeNe ever could. Lisa probably needs to find another show it’s clear that she has grown and is not like the others. The past is the past people let it rest. Sheree focuses on herself way too much, I admire her spunk but it can’t be ALL about her. Spend some time with your kids. Sadly enough, Kim is most entertaining. People love these ladies because they are entertainment but could never take over the world intellectually. Great for entertainment, horrible for the advancement of women and people of color. For those of you who say it’s only a show – you are blind to how is defining and impacting women.

NENE- you have the same name as my daughter so i won’t be insulting you. Besides I do think for the most part you speak your mind and the truth and that’s something to be proud of. But I will say stop chasing that so called possible dad. Hes a freakin dead beat and why would you be kissing his grits to be in his life when it shold be the other way around.
