I live and work one town over from Stone Mountain GA and this “white” hillbilly thing is so far off it is unbelievable. 30 Rock really screwed up with this one. Stone Mountain has been Black for 10 years now. The only things still “white” in Stone Mountain now are the confederate names on the street signs. Maybe they should have called someone in GA and asked. Atlanta is the new New Orleans, Washington DC, and Detroit.

30 Rock insulted the Ga by dredging up old stereotypes. And recently I heard a pundit on NPR say that Obama's popularity declines are most notable in the "white south" . Where is this stuff coming from- the 1960's.? We are long past this- prior to this recession,we were leaders in job and population growth for years , major Fortune 500 companies relocate here, we have tremendous diversity, and the engimneers trained at Ga Tech go out to California to take Slater's job in the Silicon Valley. I enjoy 30 Rock, but it crossed the line.

Glad to hear all of those Northeasterner and Westerners won't be coming to Georgia to drive up our cost of living and ruin this awesome place. Shhh lets keep our pristine parks and low cost of living a secret. Let them poke fun...we are the ones smiling. BTW - that was a hilarious episode.

Tired of watching programs/movies that insult. Goodbye 30 Rock. Tina Fey, all you have going for you is that you are almost as attractive as Sarah Palin. Almost, but not quite. And I think she has a brighter bulb than you, too.

I've read some interviews about this and apparently Tina Fey and the rest of the 30 Rock gang are in on the joke that this isn't what Stone Mountain, or all of the south is like. Kenneth the Page is supposed to be a backwards character and as the article says, they wanted him to be from what sounds like a hick town. Stone Mountain is a pretty funny name to those who haven't grown up being used to it. Plus if you watch the high school reunion episode from last season you will see that they addressed what Kenneth's high school reunion would have looked like in the real Stone Mountain.

The first things that come to my mind when I hear Atlanta is heat, chain-gangs, sweet tea, fried food, alligators, porch rocking chairs, and old folks. To be fair, the first things that come to my mind when I hear Texas is BBQ, cattle, flat desert, rednecks, college/high school football, and the alamo.

To Slater and Dixie, wow is all I can say. Slater travel it will enlighten u. Dixie, I live in a 5500 square foot home in Stone Mountain and I hardly live in a ghetto. When a person has to berate people, then usually feel inferior, you sound like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the concept of hyperbole for the sake of humor. And sadly, the stereotypes (exaggerated as they are) aren't quite as far off as locals would like to think.

And by the way... I've lived in Georgia my whole life, as have my parents and as did both sets of grandparents.
