Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” has spent several episodes focused around Kim Zolciak’s song “Tardy for the Party.” The song was played in promos for an entire week. It was available on iTunes several weeks ago. It has made the top 3 on the iTunes dance chart. So what does that mean in terms of actual sales?
I checked with Nielsen SoundScan, which tracks such download sales. The results: 29,000. That’s not huge over a month’s time. A top-rated download can sell 200,000 plus in one week. At 99 cents per download, that means almost $28,700 in income. I’m not sure how much Kim would actually get from that. Could she maybe buy some nice shoes?
As for radio airplay, the song has gotten virtually none. Mediabase has tracked the song six times on five stations, including twice on Q100, which does frequent Kim-related updates.
