Home occupied by Lee Najjar up for sale for $25 million
The company which owns a home occupied by Lee Najjar, the local real estate mogul who is known supposedly as “Big Poppa” on the Bravo show “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” has put the monstrous Buckhead mansion up for sale for a whopping $25 million.
Travis Reed, who is the real estate agent trying to sell the property, said the company, West Paces Ferry Associates LLC, requested he not market the property locally. He wouldn’t say who owns West Paces Ferry Associates LLC or whether Najjar is affiliated with said company. A quick check with the Georgia Secretary of State’s online search does not come up with any entity under that name. (Google that name and you get nothing as well.)
UPDATE: Someone was nice enough to do a better search than I did on the Secretary of State’s Web site. I used the search box “name starts with” and had typed in “West Paces Ferry.” Apparently, the company’s name is actually LN West Paces Ferry Associates LLC. The agent who runs the shop? Lee Najjar.
Naturally, only a handful of people could actually afford any property worth more than $10 million so Reed will be marketing it through Christie’s and high-end magazines of that ilk. Possibly, someone overseas (an oil baron?) might be interested.
Reed said no property in Atlanta has ever sold in the secondary market for more than $10 million, though there are existing properties by the likes of Tyler Perry and Arthur Blank that are worth far more than that.
You can see the listing (which posted late last month) at ajchomefinder. The home, which has nine bedrooms, 11 full baths and four half baths, features 16 fireplaces, a recording studio, personal massage room, a nail/hair salon, a tanning salon, a ballroom, a theater and seven full kitchens. Located at 490 West Paces Ferry Road, it was just finished last year. The property was featured earlier this year on “MTV Teen Cribs.”

Part of the film “Zombieland” was shot there as well.
Najjar is never seen or mentioned on the show beyond his alleged ghostly presence nicknamed “Big Poppa.” He is married but has had a not-so-secret, on-and-off-again relationship with castmate Kim Zolciak. On the show, taped in the spring, they had gotten back together and she even got a ring.
Though her former publicist Jonathan Jaxson said she had broken up with him recently, she texted me Monday to say, “I’m still with Poppa!” UPDATE: The next day with Usmagazine.com at the Fox Reality Show Awards, she said she was no longer with him. I just texted her again to see what gives. “We are on and off,” she texted me Wednesday morning, October 14. “Very tricky right now.”
On the Bonnie Hunt Show, taped earlier this week and aired Wednesday morning, she said she had broken up with him a month ago but it’s not quite over. On the show, she wore the big rock she got from Big Poppa on the right hand, not the left. Also on the show, Kim showed her vast knowledge of pop culture by failing to ID Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra’s nickname “Ol’ Blue Eyes,” the phrase “Where’s the Beef,” “The Gong Show,” and a spatula while glancing at the other contestants’ answers.
A building application to add an $80,000 addition to 490 West Paces Ferry dated May 19, 2005 reveals Najjar’s name as the owner of the property at the time. Another application dated April 26, 2007 for a $6,000 fence for the same property also had Najjar’s name attached.
The Buckhead Blog was the first to post a story about it.
According to Buckhead.net, the home was built as a summer cottage in 1914 and renovated and expanded by Hentz, Reid and Adler. The site dubs it the Jackson-Alsop-Arnold House. “Later renovations turned the original white clapboard summer cottage into a Mediterranean-style villa,” the site noted.
It is by far the highest-priced home on sale at tinafountain.com. The second highest asking price? $14.5 million. But that one only has seven bedrooms and nine baths.
The last time the property was sold was in 2004 for $2.74 million. Property taxes in 2008: $51,030.

Let’s see, first and foremost why Nejjar is selling his home a lot of things come into the equation. But one has to think to oneself he had to be a smart man to get to where he is, if he is truly going through a divorce why would you want to live in the same house. Since it is not put on the local market that means I can wait until the right buyer comes along so darling you have to wait for your piece of the pie. And the ala modes as well so it want be a lot of spending going on. But you know my man is moving some money as best he can of course with the new laws and the participation of Swiss & Bohamian banks it might be a little hard to do. I’m sure he took notes on that when that New York criminal went to jail. Now if he is from California I wonder where he will file for a divorce if this is the case, possibly Florida? I have read this column and several people on here have said that the negative comments about Lee Najjar obviously meant we were jealous( or jalouse or jelous for the spelling challenged). Um, Hardly! This house is a hideous “tract mansion” sitting in the most prominent neighborhood in Buckhead. It is across and down a few homes from the Governor’s mansion. Not jealous here, just speaking the truth. The reality is this is going to be a tough home to sell when there are so many beautiful, well appointed homes within the same area for a lot less money.

Obviously they are looking for publicity and not trying to sell. The article clearly says that the property sold for 2.74 million in 2004 – the height of the overpriced housing market. Now, during the bust, they’re asking for $25 million. Hmmmm…. sounds like some sort of PR stunt or an attempt to use the TV coverage to over inflate the value to sell the property. The reality is that people that have that kind of money know the real value so I have to conclude that it’s BS.

I have to agree with the comment about “if this is Atlanta’s elite” in reference to the Real Housewives of Atlanta…. I think the show is absolutely disgusting. No, these are WANNABE Atlanta elite. A bunch of cheap, trashy black women who have no class or style. I mean come on…one of their boyfriends was stabbed to death in the parking lot of a trash strip club…….yeah, that’s real “elite” … Blacks with money, still acting like blacks in general. Just because someone supposedly has money doesn’t mean they have taste, style or class and this show and that murder alone prove that much.
Atlanta has some wonderful, decent wealthy people and this group is not representative by any means. Of course, that’s because the decent people, the ones with class, wouldn’t dare think of airing their lives on such a trash TV show. Shame on the network for even putting this garbage out there and more shame on the people who feed on it and promote it by watching it. Sure leaves me with little faith in the future of the US mainstream society.
And if you want to see this house, watch it in the movie Zombieland with Woody Harrelson. Funny movie! Great cameo by Bill Murray, who in the movie is the owner of this home which is, for the movie, located in the 90210 zip code. I’m guessing they rented it out to pay off some of the foreclosed mortgage costs.

Big Poppa must be ‘cash poor’ because if you look up his name under the county clerks office, he has many, many law suits against him from sub contractors for non payment. Like many people who make a killing in the real estate market- once the bubble bursts.
