Kim Zolciak explains why she wasn’t at Kandi Burruss’ party
In an exclusive interview, Kim Zolciak this afternoon explained why she missed Kandi Burruss’ concert performance at Tongue & Groove, which aired last night on “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
“My daughter Brienna was really sick that night,” Kim said. She said she had called Kandi earlier and that Kandi was cool.
“She’s understanding,” Kim said. “I wouldn’t miss something like that especially after all the work she did on ‘Tardy for the Party.’ I wouldn’t just not show up.”
The producers did not explain why Kim wasn’t there. It gave the impression she just callously skipped it.
What upset her more: Lisa’s snide comment that Kim may have gotten a disease, a joke referencing Kim’s “cancer” scare she talked about at the first season reunion. “Who talks like that?” she said. “That’s so low! She’s a mother and a wife. That’s not funny. It’s a little too much for me. It’s one thing to make fun of somebody and make it cut but to really insult them…”
Her song “Tardy for the Party” is No. 3 on the iTunes dance charts. That’s a sub-genre so it’s unclear what that translates to when it comes to sales.

I thought Ne Ne was so real last season, but all I see this season is hate and jealousy. Green is no a good color for her. To eliminate the ignorance for the person who made the comment about Lisa’s parents house. The house is in California. And even for a house in Inglewood, her parents house is worth at LEAST $400,000 but judging from the surrounding it is probably worth more. The size of a home is not an issue in the LA area where less does actually cost 4x more than here in Atlanta. And judging from the area, her parents live in a decent area. All of Inglewood is not ghetto just as all of Atlanta is not ghetto as some would have you to believe. And maybe her parents don’t want to live off their kid’s wealth as some mooching, greedy parents. And whose to say their home worth over a half million is not paid for? Kim is cool in the show b/c it provides entertainment. I was highly heated (in other choice words; I didn’t read the fine print on swearing lol) that for someone who can’t sing for crap; then someone like me who can…she is holding a no. 3 spot on itunes! Call it what you want, jealousy, envy…I don’t care, but she needs to go back and figure out something else to do. Kandi did her a serious favor by hooking her song up the way she did. Anyone notice that Kim isn’t talking about her dream of being a country star anymore?
When it comes to Kandi’s performance…we can all read and obviously we all watch the show. Why would she ask if she was here and she was told?? I highly doubt that Kandi would make herself look that dumb or naive to what was going on. I pray that God keeps her and comforts her after the lose of her ex-fiance, AJ. I agree with NeNe that Kim definitely is fun to party with; but a bs’er of a friend.

Yes MzMe, AJ was Kandi’s ex-fiance. Check out her interview with Essence last month. I’m sure she still held a deep place in her heart for him though, especially since she had custody of his twins.

I too offer my condolences to Kandi and to the Jewell Family. She is the ONLY wife on this show with ANY class, and that includes constant-trouble-instigator-trying- to-pass-as-a-peacemaker-fake-behind LISA. I don’t know who I can’t stand more NeNe or Lisa. These shows were taped months ago. Recent interviews with Kandi don’t indicate any rift behind she and Kim. On the other hand there appears to definitely be one between Kandi and the self proclaimed HBIC (Head-Female Dog-In-Charge), the one with camera balls that was feeling the love in Season One.

Kandi is the only one with real manners on the show. My heart goes out to her…her ex-finance AJ was killed last night. I believer her mother had a lot to do with thier break-up because she would not give him a chance….I hope she can find forgiveness in her heart.
For far as the rest of them, Kim was wrong for not showing up at Kandi’s premiere. Kandi went to bat for her when the rest of the crew poked funny at her singing. NeeNee is loud and ghetto yet has the nerves to talk about Kandi, hell I think she is just jealous. Lisa claims she is just a business woman but business woman are leaders, not followers and this season, seems all she does is follow NeeNee dumb ass and does whatever it takes to stay in NeeNee’s good grace. Then there is Sheree. I believe she is really broke now but what’s to still fake the funk. Do any of these women who don’t seem to really live in Atlanta have a REAL home of their own? I have read where Lisa, NeNe and Shree have all moved out of their mansions (or cookiecutter McMansions) since Season One for different $$$$ reasons. The show is really a good train wreck to watch. And who decorated their havens? Dwight, the fashion queen? Was Dwight a former drag queen in Atlanta? Why hasn’t the black lady Mayor been seen on an episode of Atlanta Housewives? Why don’t these fake socialites ever show up at the High Museum of Art or the Atlanta Symphony? Maybe they think they were slumming with regular folk?? Any of these “girls” ever been to parties in the homes of Tuxedo Drive? Why haven’t these b#tches ever been invited to lunch at The Piedmont Driving Club? Or just the Swan Coach House? One comment that really pissed me off is the one about Lisa letting her family live in that little house. She is always critical of Kim, and always has been. Now who is she going to beat, referencing the stunt she pulled last season on the follow up episode. Lisa tries to be so tough. Heck, they all do except for Kandi. She is actually the only one who has anything, owning her home since the age of 19. Heck, they should kick off Lisa and NeNe and add Tiny and lil Wayne’s ex Toya, people with money, instead of those broke, wannabe rich so-called Real Housewives of Atlanta. NeNe has no class, and is actually very jealous, and so are Lisa and Sheree.
I was feeling sorry for Kim at first, but now, I see she was just using Kandi, as that other so-called producer Dallas Austin could find no talent in Kim, but that is what this sound equipment does for most of the so-called performers of today with little or no talent. Sound effects are wonderful. Kim always used a sitter any other time, but why not on Kandi’s special night. Who wouldn’t be crushed!! Kim probably really turned her back on Kandi because she was with her married lover. Cmon girls, remember the things we have all pulled off to be with a man when dating.
I also want to add that these so-called “Real Housewives” are probably only getting paid peanuts. I wonder what the Real Housewives of the OC are making these days??? Hmmm!! I believe all the homes except for Kandi’s are just props. Kandi is such a sweet and generous person. I hope that she is able to find real love, as if a man doesn’t care for my mother, he is just not worth being with. I thought he was a street thug, always on the cell phone. I love the Real Housewives of OC, they are classy ladies. They are snide but classy. I have watched the shows from Atlanta, both seasons, and found that DeShawn at least acted like she had some class, being that she wasn’t that smart. Her party cost more to have then they raised. Kim at least is open about who she is, she was open about being a mistress and sleeping with a married man. Nene won’t admit to being poor, renting a home she claimed to own, and lied about her past. Nene and Kim met working at a strip club, and Nene was “saved” by Gregg. Kim isn’t a house wife, but Bethany Frankel wasn’t married either, so whats up with that? Nene said once, we look at price tags, yet spent 10,000 dollars on an over sized couch. And Kim spends thousands of dollars of money, thats not hers and that she didn’t work for. That money belongs to another man and his wife, not Kim, yet she spends it. I watch this show to watch them burn.

Last season, I became addicted to the show. I was tentative about NeNe but by the end, I appreciated what I thought was her honesty thought I did feel that she could have represented herself better. The first two or so episodes of the show, I actually thought NeNe was being coached. She stopped sitting in front of the camera without a bra and she appeared to be purposeful in articulating herslef. As it stands now, I feel that NeNe is out of control. I think that Lisa is becoming somewhat of a follower, that Sheree is a narcisist, and that Kim’s life is made for reality TV…just not this one. While I agree that reality TV is a lot of things, I still believe the essence of each cast member is evident. Kandi has demonstrated to me that she is compassionate and that life and family are important. I feel so sorry about the loss of AJ but wish in that in the heat of the moment, he or all of those witnesses who are now “cooperating with police” could have seen beyond the moment and stopped the fight. Let’s pledge and encourage others to resolve conflicts without getting in someone’s face, pulling hair, using profanity, and fighting. I am so much better…what about you?

This is the 1st season that I’ve watched the show and I’ve ask some of my family and friends if the people on the show were for real or just acting. How in the world do they or could they consider themselves as friends. The only thing I’ve seen so far from all of these so called (laydees)of Atlanta (except Kandi) is back bitting, back stabbing, instigating, jealousy, the bad type of envy and peace breakers. This proves that weather you have money or not has nothing to do with what’s in a persons heart or the qualities within them. What kind of examples are these people setting for their children? Kandi, I know you are going through a difficult time right now but remember that you are never alone. I believe in you, you have a kind heart and you show humility, honesty and have strong family values. Things happen for a reason, reasons me as human being may not understand right now however, our Heavenly Father knows what’s best for us. Don’t try to figure why you’ve been given this burden to bare, just pray for strength to deal with it and be able to function one day at a time because he won’t give you more than you can bare. Also, find some new friends because those so called (laydees) of Atlanta will only bring you down to their level. They are hollow inside with nothing to offer you but stress and anxiety. It’s amazing to me how seemingly hundreds of thousands of people have become so emotionally invested in this cartoon of a show. There is absolutely nothing “real” about RHOA. Three out of the five aren’t even housewives. BravoTV has created a modern day Stepin Fetchit, and for an episode paycheck and the national exposure, these five women happily make damn fools of themselves on a weekly farce that does Lincoln Perry proud. Kim might as well have put on black face and sang mammy instead of tardy. Whether you love or hate them matters not, they are about furthering their own interest on a national stage. Kandi’s promo is for reentering the music business with a splash, maybe even a try at acting with that “pocketbook” crap. But at least she has the talent to make it work. The rest are completely hollow. You must know that Kim knows she has no talent for anything other than tricking. Her motivation is to sell views on her looks (which are fading fast). Lisa and Sheree designers? PLEASE. They aren’t talented enough to pull off being fake designers by hiring real ones. They weren’t even smart enough to gold-dig athletes with guaranteed contracts (like Deshawn), now they are broke. **Off topic but I have to say it. KIM, no talent whatsoever, my dog can howl better than she sounds, she is a joke and why KANDI helped her when she knew her voice stinks is beyond me. Maybe BRAVO gave Kandi more money so she would electronically change Kim’s voice and work with her – the fact she didn’t show up for her party is no surprise — why Kandi went shopping with Kim after that is a big mystery?? Is she stupid.
Kandi, is my favorite on the show though. Sheree is boring and not worth commenting on, Nenee is entertaining, but a complete phony and is milking the show for what it’s worth, I even saw her as a guest host on Entertainment Tonight, Can’t figure Lisa out at all….one minute think she is nice and sweet, other minute she comes off as a troublemaker, Deshawn they got rid of because she wasn’t as drama filled as these other women.
The worst is Kim, the fake wig that looks like Barbie, fake huge boobs, eyelashes etc., is disgusting. What kind of role model is she for those two girls when they see their mother going out with a married man and being supported b y him, also that red strapless dress was a joke — she kept pulling it up every two minutes over those two HUMONGOUS saline sacks – she looks like an ugly version of JEssica Rabbit

I can understand why NeNe felt betrayed by Kim for not letting her sing on Tardy for the Party. Kim used Kandi like she used everyone else. Because Kandi’s name was already established, Kim latched on to her and dropped NeNe. I am usually very pro NeNe but she was wrong for confronting Kandi at the fashion show and in telling her that she needed to apologize to her. If that wasn’t for ratings sake, then she’s very bold and in this case, wrong. I still like her though. Kim dear, you can’t sing. Just like you called NeNe a moose, you sound like a moose caught in a trap.
