‘Jon & Kate Plus 8′ becomes just ‘Kate Plus 8′ on TLC
TLC today announced that Jon Gosselin is no longer going to be a regular on the TV show starting Nov. 2. Thus, the show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ becomes “Kate Plus 8.”
The reality show, after peaking at more than 10 million viewers after the divorce, has seen its audience dwindle to 1.7 million last week. Although the tabs keep them in the headlines, there is clearly “Jon & Kate” fatigue.
Here’s a bit from the press release:
The program will continue to capture the incredible lives of the eight Gosselin children and their family but will now include a deeper focus on Kate’s role in the family and her journey as a single mother building the next chapter in her life. TLC will continue its exclusive relationship with Jon Gosselin and he will continue to appear on the show, but on a less regular basis.

Sadly, Jon got his wish. He no longer wants to be an active part in his children’s lives. I truly believe that Kate is continuing so that she can provide for her children. I think it is interesting that normally, it IS the mother that pulls it together and does what ever it takes to make her children happy. So often the dad chooses to act single again, with little of the responsibility of raising their kids.

TLC needs to cancel this show. Period. This ship has sailed. Those children need a normal, quiet as possible, out of the limelight life, or as much privacy being one of eight can obtain. Shame on TLC for continuing this train wreck. I am but one person, but I am not watching any of their programming any longer.

What if Kate decided she wanted to run the streets , hit the clubs , spend lots of time with all types of me and abandon her children. that woman would be raked through the coals. Both of them are at fault. Anyone who thinks Kate is the victim here is wrong. Jon made mistakes, but Kate is the one doing every show and every interview that she can get. Where are those kids when she’s on the View? Where are those kids when she’s on Larry King? They’re back home in PA with a nanny. It is easy for us to speculate, but we don’t know what we would do in their shoes. Jon married Kate for better or worse. If he feels it’s worse, too bad. He needs to find strength, counseling, a backbone to STAY married & make it work & not ruin his kids with his poor example & a divorced home. To those of you who never watched the earlier shows, Jon didn’t want the second pregnancy. He thought 2 kids were enough. Kate got her way. In the shows I saw, she also treated Jon just like, or worse, than she did her kids. She told him what to do, when and how to do it. I’m a woman and not taking Jon’s side for leaving but will say that anyone can only take so much before they’re out of there.

I admit I used to love this show and pretty much watched it from the very beginning. I also think Jon has always resented Kate for pressuring him into getting pregnant again. However, he is a man and if he did not want any more children he should have stood his ground. I wonder if either of them ever considered marriage counsleing before getting a divorce. I can only hope and pray all 8 children turn out to be productive members of society someday. I also think the show will end up being cancelled due to lack of viewers.

The America audience is not interested in quality television.
I can’t believe people watch this boring family eat, bathe, vacation and just basically do things that they don’t do with their own kids.

I caught a few of these sows while my wife watched and while it takes two to tango, I was struck with how she belittled him and treated him on camera. I can see where he got fed up. the amazing thing is this woman became a millionaire because she had a litter of kids. The family got all these free VIP trips, passes, tours motorcycles and she got thousands of dollars in plastic surgery. I feel for the kids because they are little and probably believe that all this VIP treatment is normal.

So I guess the people that want the show cancelled will be paying for the children’s school when it is time for college. It’s funny that all of a suddent when TLC decides to lessen Jon’s role in the show that he wants his children to not be filmed. I hope there isn’t a judge stupid enough not to see thru him. How can people feel sorry for Kate? All she has been after is the money and fame. And I only have two children because that is all I can afford. I had a hard time getting pregnant but I didn’t go for treatment after only trying for a short time. I had polycystic ovaries as well but I did get pregnant finally!
