‘Jon & Kate Plus 8′ becomes just ‘Kate Plus 8′ on TLC
TLC today announced that Jon Gosselin is no longer going to be a regular on the TV show starting Nov. 2. Thus, the show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ becomes “Kate Plus 8.”
The reality show, after peaking at more than 10 million viewers after the divorce, has seen its audience dwindle to 1.7 million last week. Although the tabs keep them in the headlines, there is clearly “Jon & Kate” fatigue.
Here’s a bit from the press release:
The program will continue to capture the incredible lives of the eight Gosselin children and their family but will now include a deeper focus on Kate’s role in the family and her journey as a single mother building the next chapter in her life. TLC will continue its exclusive relationship with Jon Gosselin and he will continue to appear on the show, but on a less regular basis.

I no longer watch the program since the decline of the family. as a health care provider I am so concerned about the mental health of these children in the future. It is foolish to think all this will not affect their emotional health. Oh, well, guess she will say she makes enough to pay for counseling.Enter your comments here

To Shut-Up: What is wrong with Kate going back to nursing to help support her kids? Because she would be on her feet all day really working and would not have time to party, go to beauty shops, give interviews, autograph books? Oh Woe is me. A lot of women support this
many kids by working 2 and 3 jobs without the support of a husband. However, there is a father in the picture who is still young and could hold down 2 or 3 jobs to pay child support. They could survive financially just fine. Oh and he could work the long hours if he would
conserve his strength and keep his pants zipped. Guess they are both just too used to the “easy life”.

Did Jon say that he didn’t want to be a part of the kids’ lives? I don’t watch the show but that just sounds terrible.
I wish the show would be cancelled if for no other reason than I can stop hearing about them.

She’s famous because she gave birth to a LITTER.
The America audience is not interested in quality television.
I can’t believe people watch this boring family eat, bathe, vacation and just basically do things that they don’t do with their own kids.
This show is a waste of air space.
Kate will throw her marriage away just to be famous, instead of trying to be a good wife and mother to her LITTER out of the spot light.
The name of the new show should be Kate and NANNIES plus 8.
She does not raise those kids by herself.
If they knew that they couldn’t raise their kids on their regular salaries without prostituting them then they should have put the whole LITTER up for adoption. Bottom line I don’t feel sorry for Jon and Kate they brought children into the world that they could not support. I hope this show gets CANCELLED and I do not want to see her on the cover of another magazine or on another talk show. If she is such a good mom as her followers claim her to be, why is she never home with them, she’s always on some show talking about nothing or promoting a book about being the mom that she is not. I’ve been writing a book for the last 3 years and I have 3 children and 1 job and I volunteer weekly then I thought Kate has one thing that I don’t have… a GHOST WRITER and all she has to do is slap her name on it. Jon should not give his parental permission for kids to participate in the show. I am going to create a website with a petition to CANCEL Jon & Kate.

Who Cares??? They are both Horrible parents for parading their kids in the public in such a way…they both should be ashamed..and Kate playing the victim role makes me want to PUKE!!! maybe she should speak to an actual single mom, and see how life is….they both can go back to Hershey Pa and get a real life! Kate is a man hating beyotch. No onc could stand to be married to her. She thought she owned her husband and treated him like dirt. She got what she deserved.
He is an irresponsible kid and will hopefully get what he deserves (absolutely nothing – he deserves to be working as a fry cook somewhere).
I have no respect for either of them.
I feel sorry for their 8 kids. They’ve been prostituted for the good of the parents. It was always ALL about being a star, not what was best for the kids.
I’ve given them my last thought. They’ll never get another.

if jon would have been a real man then kate wouldn’t have had to be both father and mother. jon was too busy screwing the babysitters to care about his wife or kids. stop dissing kate, she did what she had to do for her children. and if you were a single mom and had the choice to work at a job making millions vs a mickey d’s or secretary you’d take it too. i’m glad jon is gone he was such a wuss.

Yes, because Jon doesn’t want the time he spends with his kids broadcasted to millions, that means he hates his kids and wants nothing to do with them.
Good for Jon, maybe in the end his kids will only be halfway messed up from this mess they are put in.

I caught a few of these sows while my wife watched and while it takes two to tango, I was struck with how she belittled him and treated him on camera. I can see where he got fed up. the amazing thing is this woman became a millionaire because she had a litter of kids. The family got all these free VIP trips, passes, tours motorcycles and she got thousands of dollars in plastic surgery. I feel for the kids because they are little and probably believe that all this VIP treatment is normal.

Finally! I agree with Scott. I’ve been waiting for someone to comment on how nasty Kate was to Jon. I would have left a long time ago. Don’t be supprised if we see less of the kids and more of the wicked witch. She can’t be spending to much time with them because she’s making so many guest appearances. Can’t wait to here what the nannys are gonna say when they quit or get fired. Can you say “Tell All Book”? I love true crime stories.

I hate Jon; he is such a loser. I am so proud of Kate for being able to deal with all of this. I know that the show will be be so much better. I can’t wait to see it!!!

So I guess the people that want the show cancelled will be paying for the children’s school when it is time for college. It’s funny that all of a suddent when TLC decides to lessen Jon’s role in the show that he wants his children to not be filmed. I hope there isn’t a judge stupid enough not to see thru him. I would also hope that if for what ever reason they are to stop taping that he is made to pay child support for those children and that at some point he gets tired of bed hopping and actually stop embarassing his children, I am sure the 2 oldest have to hear about their dad everyday at school

How can people feel sorry for Kate? All she has been after is the money and fame. And I only have two children because that is all I can afford. I had a hard time getting pregnant but I didn’t go for treatment after only trying for a short time. I had polycystic ovaries as well but I did get pregnant finally! I don’t care what the reasons are for Jon to want to get his children out of the public eye as long as he does it. CANCEL THE SHOW!!!!

oh trust me, she’s not doing this on her own, she has plenty of help raising the kids, i’m just waiting til the children write a book about her. There’s a day coming those kids will be adults one day, they’ll watch all this footage and then it will be mutiny. It’s so obvious that she needs to continue filming her children and getting paid for it. I heard she was a nurse, why can’t she go back and do that again? If TLC does cancel the show how ever will she make it? her new talk show? it will crash and burn. her only accomplishment is that she had 8 children, wow. check out the youtube video titled kate denies mady water. you get a good picture of her true self and what her children think of her. what a shame, and quit whining about the paparazzi okay? this is what you signed on to do. A gracious lady would bow out and not discuss all of this on the view or any other program no matter how much of a jack ass her soon to be ex might be. JEEZ! get a clue!
