Best local sports radio show host: Steak Shapiro, 790/The Zone? Some one needs to check the station ratings? The answer should have been the King!!

EThe Bert Show on Q-100 is yesterdays news. Why people continue to listen (or care) is beyond me. They have turned into the radio version of un-reality radio.

1. Creative Loafing is STILL in business?
2. People (other than Little Five Points hipsters) still take CL seriously?
3. They lost me when they voted Steve Shapiro best sports radio talk host.

Also – Colin Cowherd loves boys under the age of 11

Steak Shapiro gives his best on-air performances on his days off. Long Live the Bottom Line. I wonder how many minions he had voting for him. Look what Daddy’s money got him.

actually, most of you probably don’t KNOW steak shapiro i’m sure, but he’s an very nice person who went out of his way to be nice and extremely gracious to my elderly father when i introduced him. the old man was impressed and so was I.

Steak is no doubt a polarizing figure in Atlanta Radio, thus his winning this award. Radio is about getting a “response”, and nobody does that better than his truly. Just check the comments on this blog…nobody is commenting on Mara Davis!

I definitely agree with the David O’Brien pick. He does an awesome job covering the Braves.

I’ve actually met Steak Shapiro a couple times and he has always come across as a nice dude. At least in the two times I’ve met him, he was really nothing like his radio persona.

Steak Shapiro? WTF! The 2 live stews have the best show in Atlanta no doubt about it. Who else appears on ESPN once a month. VIVA the Stews! Doug and Ryan keep doing what your doing.

Steak is absolutly the best sports talk show host it’s not even close.

Steak Shapiro? the only way he would have won is if he paid someone. Even his own family would not vote for him. And the Stews-WORST SPORTS SHOW-hands down no questions asked! And MONICA? pretty sad news for ATLANTA when Oprah’s cronie with a daily hair color change is voted the best. Atlanta’s news stations are pathetic to begin with.

You have to be kidding

Just last month Steakie was voted 2nd most obnoxious radio personality in ATL. He always manages to bring up his daughter, The Palm, Solomon Brothers, etc. in every conversation. One thing I LEEEARRRRNED! months ago was to switch to 680 The Fan.

Congrats to Steak. Obviously he does his job because everyone here is commenting about him. So everyone here must listen to The Zone or are just a bunch of 680 the Fan interns.

That was a nice joke about Chuck being the best. I would vote a mime before calling Chuck the best at anything but a pie eating contest.

Hey Creative Loafing, for you to choose the Bert show as the best just shows why your readership has fallen off so badly, you filed for bankrupcy. Everything they do is faked, from the LA based actors that come on and make up situations, to the fake sentimentality they all seem to portray when they want to. Did you even put any work into it.Same ole people year after year. Please,Creative Loafing is yesterday’s Hudspeth report, and the bert show has run its course of pretending to be real when they are the most un-real of any show.

Mark, how do you know the Bert Show is fake? I listen everyday. That makes me upset.

Steak may be a nice guy who I used to listen to but I switched the 680 because they hired two of the Zones best hosts, Chuck and Chernoff

Sorry Timmy, but I am no relation to Steak. I am simply a listener and fan of the station. Obviously the AJC saw fit to write a good piece on Steak just a week or so ago.

Creative Loafing is still very popular on the college campuses around the metro area, in businesses, and sports bars/arenas. Those are basically the areas advertisers like to reach and they still have a following in Atlanta. The fact that Rodney included them in a blog post that took away from his every other hour update on the Real Tramps of Atlanta means that it still carries some weight.

I will give Chernoff being a great host, but Chuck simply has nothing to bring to a show other than obscure college football notes. That is all great during college football season, but when it’s baseball or basketball season, he doesn’t bring anything to the table.

I am not simply standing up for Steak (he can be obnoxious on the radio), but the fact that all of you who criticize his mention or his being on the radio obviously listen to the station to know so much about it. My personal choice would be Mike Bell because I think he has the best “personality” of anyone in sports talk in Atlanta.

C’mon Creative Loafing, Steak Shapiro, best sports radio personality. You can’t be serious. He brightens the room by leaving it. All he does is argue with Chris and Nick constantly.
