
Brace yourself for a DVR deluge because a raft of fan favorite shows are coming back this week. From “Fringe” to “Survivor” to “Gossip Girl” to “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” there’s no shortage of choices.
And Jay Leno is taking over five hours of primetime territory on NBC starting Monday at 10 p.m. Expect plenty of hijinks and big stars.
Plus, a few summer series are closing shop. “Big Brother 11″ hands out $500,000, “America’s Got Talent” crowns its $1 million Wednesday and TNT’s “Dark Blue” ends its freshman stanza that same night.
Oh, and the Emmys are on Sunday if you care for that type of thing.
MONDAY
“Oprah Winfrey Show” 4 p.m. ABC — The much anticipated part one of her Whitney Houston interview.
“America’s Got Talent” 8 p.m. NBC — The Top 10 perform for the $1 million. Go Hairo Torres, you dancing fool!
“Lincoln Heights” 8 p.m. ABC Family (fourth season debut) — Eddie and Jenn face financial problems after the earthquake.
“One Tree Hill” 8 p.m. the CW (seventh season debut) — Brook starts a new fashion line while Julian preps to produce a new movie.
“Gossip Girl” 9 p.m. the CW (third season debut) — Blair and Chuck are madly in love as the summer draws to a close.
“The Jay Leno Show” 10 p.m. NBC (series debut) — First guest: Jerry Seinfeld.
TUESDAY
“The Biggest Loser,” 8 p.m. NBC (eighth season debut) – Daniel Wright lost 142 pounds last season but needs to lose more.
“More To Love,” 8 p.m. Fox (first season finale) – Coincidentally, this “Bachelor” ripoff deals with weight issues by having everyone on the show be overweight! Luke chooses between Tali and Malissa.
“Big Brother 11” 9 p.m. CBS (11th season finale) – Lightweight Kevin, nasty Natalie and ditzy Jordin: someone is going to win $500,000.
“Shaq vs,” 9 p.m. ABC (first season finale) Shaq in a pool against… Michael Phelps!
“The Cleaner,” 10 p.m. A&E (second season finale) – An old friend turns to Banks for help.
“The Jay Leno Show” 10 p.m. NBC – More big stars week one: Tom Cruise.
WEDNESDAY
“America’s Got Talent,” 8 p.m. NBC (two-hour fourth season finale) – Will Barbara Padilla make it another opera singer winning? Or will the chicken farmer sneak through?
“Wipeout,” 8 p.m ABC (second season finale) – You know summer is really over now that this guilty pleasure is causing its last bonk of pain.
“The Beautiful Life,” 9 p.m. the CW (series debut ) – Raina (Sara Paxton), as a new model, steals thunder from vet Sonja (Mischa Barton)
“Dark Blue” 10 p.m. TNT (first season debut) – Carter is the prime suspect in an undercover co’s slaying. But you know he didn’t do it.
“Top Chef,” 10 p.m. Bravo – We lost Hector last week but you can still see him and check his food out at his restaurant Pure Vida. In the meantime, the remaining chefs get to cook in a camp setting.
“The Hills,” 11 p.m. MTV – Who needs a season debut when MTV can create a “season preview”
THURSDAY
“Bones,” 8 p.m. Fox (fifth season debut) – Cyndi Lauper guest stars as Angela’s psychic.
“Survivor,” 8 p.m. CBS (19th season debut) – This massive cast of 20 gets to hang out in Pacific island Samoa.
“Parks & Recreation,” 8:30 p.m. NBC (second season debut) -Leslie decides to marry two penguins at the local zoo. Problem: they’re both male!
“The Office,” 9 p.m. NBC (sixth season debut) – Michael spreads false rumors to offset an actual rumor. A sample: Andy is gay!
“Fringe,” 9 p.m. Fox (second season debut) – Oliva returns to a strange parallel universe.
“Community,” 9:30 p.m. NBC (new series) – Check out former Atlantan Donald Glover as well as Chevy Chase and Joel McHale in this promising pilot about life at a community college.
“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” 10 p.m. FX (fifth season debut) – Frank, Mac and Dennis try to exploit the mortgage crisis.
FRIDAY
“The 2009 ALMA Awards,” 8 p.m. ABC – Eva Longoria hosts again.
“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” 8 p.m. Fox – A Nobel laureate goes for the big million.
“Eureka,” 9 p.m. SyFy (third season finale) – Tess receives a job offer in Australia and Carter has to deal with a strange magnetic disturbance.
“Monk,” 9 p.m. USA – Natalie suspects a critic in a murder after he condemns Julie’s play performance.
“Chefs vs. City,” 10 p.m. Food (first season finale) – The chefs sample New Orleans fare including alligators, crawfish and bugs.
“Crash,” 10 p.m. Starz (second season debut) – A billionaire (Eric Roberts) wants to bring an NFL franchise to town.

“Georgia O’Keeffe,” 9 p.m. Saturday Lifetime – Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons star.
“Emmy Awards,” 8 p.m. Sunday CBS – The always funny Neil Patrick Harris hosts.
“Clive Barker’s Book of Blood,” 9 p.m. Sunday – A paranormal expert finds a house which is a highway to transport souls to the afterlife.
“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” 9 p.m. Sunday HBO (seventh season debut) – Loretta’s pending cancer diagnosis makes Larry wonder if he wants to stick around. Or just watch him try to open a plastic container:
“Drop Dead Diva,” 9 p.m. Sunday Lifetime – Watch guest turns from Liza Minnelli, Delta Burke and Rosie O’Donnell.

Looking forward to Barbara Padilla’s performance. Of the 10 finalists, I think she’s the only one that could ‘headline’ a Vegas show of 60 – 90 minutes.
If she doesn’t win, it’ll be a travesty.

Honestly, I’m a little more psyched about the debuts on the 22nd. Specifically NCIS Season 6(Gotta say if Ziva gets rescued. She looked pretty bad in that season fianle. Also NCIS Los Angeles. I was really impressed with the pilot and the star power they got for it.
