I didn't like Ra'mon's dress the best. I was much more impressed by some of the other designs. But it was supposed to be avant-garde and maybe that's something I just don't get. I thought the challange itself was boring and rather stupid. I like the avant-garde challenges of the past, but I didn't really see how or why it should relate to designing a surf inspired look. It would be one thing if the first design was supposed to be a ready to wear look inspired by the ocean or inspired by surfers but the challenge was to create something that a surf girl would wear - to me those are very different concepts. To take something a surf-girl would wear and then create an avant-garde look inspired by that design doesn't make sense to me.

I loved Ra'mon's neoprine dress which really used a san-n-surf material. He was one of the only ones to use actual surfing stuff. The blue smear reminded me of kelp which you do see in the surf or when diving. I also loved Logan's ball gown and think he has something very special which I think we will begin to see more of.

The real drama came in the "Models of the Runway" show afterward. I prefer less drama in the "Project" show but get a real dose in the "Models" show. A real hoot.

I too fell asleep before the boot-off. Is this season more boring, or what? That neoprene stuff would have shown up on the fashion police pages of US, had a celeb dared to wear it. Agree on Logan's pouf dress, but wouldn't call it beach/sea/surf inspired. Qrystle belongs on a diva show.

Loved Logan's avant garde look was just lovely! But the highlight was watching Mitchell get the boot. What a loser...he just knew he was going to ride Ra'mon's coattails to another episode. Qrystle is beyond weak, and I could really see why Epperson kept going off on her. She was just an albatross around his neck. She is way past her 15 minutes of fame. Sewing choir robes is one thing, designing for Project Runway is way beyond her capabilities.

Mitchell was kicked off.

Ditto Faith...If one quickly flips through all the designs from last night’s episode on the Project Runway website, without knowing the inspiration source, one would be hard pressed to see the influence of sea, surf and sand.

The additional task of creating an avant-garde look, threw the designers off task and was a weak attempt from the show’s producers to add tension & drama.

That being said, I thought the dresses were beautiful and well-executed.

I'm over the judges. Ra'Mon's dress did not deserve to win. And Qristyl is a bit on weak side but Epperson was out of control. Type-A run amuck! Ditto on the pouf dress...goregeous.

And BTW, where is Michael Kors?

I was just reminded that Ra'mon is not really an underdog -- he finished among the low scorers on last week's "maternity chic" challenge.

Weirdly, this season seems to feature a more consistently high level of skill and a low level of drama. Or surprises. Where's the Life in Lifetime? There's very little different going on here, which I suppose is because they producers didn't want to mess with their formula. Hard to say. But these designers are really good and a bit dull. And yes, Nina needs to take off the duct tape and start harshing. And where was Michael? Zzzzz.
Great to see Mitchell gone pecan.
Having teams usually jacks up the tension and creates some fun moments. Last night provided a few. Maybe now we'll see some more action. But I'm digging looking at the outfits. Last night had plenty of good ones.
