More than a decade later, the four main characters of “Seinfeld” are returning to NBC for a reunion show.
Well, at least that’s what’s happening in the fictional Larry David bubble of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He gets Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards to play themselves in his incredibly neurotic alterna-world.
HBO sent me an advance copy of the first three episodes of the new season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” The “Seinfeld” plotline pops up in episode three. David wants to get back with his ex wife, played by Cheryl Hines, and pictures having her as George Costanza’s ex wife (because you know, George is an extension of Larry.)
That third episode is extremely funny. My favorite part is Jason Alexander telling Larry David that he wants to do a reunion to make up for the finale everybody hated. Larry, of course, doesn’t acknowledge that’s the case.

I always like Seinfeld show, and with all lousy comedy shows out there they will be a breath of fresh air. They should return together, on regular Television seris.

uh, i do indeed respect the opinions of my fellow posters here, but i just didn’t ever think seinfeld was that funny, mainly cause with some exceptions, the whole new york/brooklyn shtick just didn’t appeal to me. give me a ‘mama’s family’ reunion any day!

Anyone begging for a ‘Mama’s Family’ reunion clearly couldn’t appreciate ‘Seinfeld’, nor ‘Curb’. Go open another box of wine.

Good show overall, but it could do without the leftwing, religious-bashing, nonsense.

The religion-bashing is for the intellectuals. I can understand where the sheep would feel uncomfortable with it, but perhaps this show isn’t really for you?

Leftwing, religious-bashing? Haha, it never stops does it? Do you just go around and say that about everything that doesn’t fall into your ignorant little bubble? I’m sure Larry David will consider your input. Haha. Shouldn’t you be in church?

Whoa, guys! Chill for a sec. While I do admit Curb is hilarious in its own way, I have to also agree with lydiasdad. A lot of tv shows get away with far more religious bashing (i don’t know any other term for it) then they really should. Think of it this way: if they made those same jokes about other establishments (such as homosexuality, abortion, etc), then there would be a huge uproar from those camps and their television show would be labeled immature and idiotic (think South Park). Why should there be a double standard when it comes to religion? Religious bashing isn’t intellectual humor, it’s crude humor, same as bashing of any kind. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with poking fun of various establishments, but many shows such as this can often cross the line (and everyone knows when they do). Then it goes from intellect to idiocy. And that’s from an intellectual!
