NeNe in LaLa Land: Real Housewives of Atlanta recap, episode 5
Loading ...No wig pulling or in-your-face confrontations this week. But Lisa and Kim keep picking at each other outside of each other’s earshot.
A sampling of the bitch fest:
Kim on Lisa: “For God’s sake — you’re not Wonder Woman!”
Kim on Lisa: “She’s as fake as a three dollar bill!”
Lisa on Kim: “Wasn’t she from a trailer park?”
The trailer for next week shows an attempt at reconciliation next week — because the show demands it, not because it’s necessary.
The bulk of the episode revolves around Lisa’s visit to Los Angeles to visit her 92-year-old grandma, who has the most supple 92-year-old skin I’ve ever seen. (Credit Vasoline and great genetics!)
And to keep the connective thread on the show’s “cast” and not isolate any individual person, Lisa brought along NeNe. The two have gotten closer now that they live closer to each other. Kim is snide about their burgeoning friendship. Ironically, Kim talks about how NeNe flits from friend to friend when in fact, that’s exactly what Kim does, too. Just watch her buddy up to Kandi.
“I can definitely be friends with Kandi,” Kim said. “I just like her energy.”
“I think Kim is pretty cool,” Kandi responded.
Kandi had already written part of a song for Kim called “I Fly Above,” as in “I fly above the haters.” It proves that Kandi nows how to write a hook and sounds pretty good– at least when Kandi sings it. Kim, as usual, avoids actually singing on camera or in front of Kandi. Smart move for our eardrums, Kim!
Then Kim says the comically outrageous line, referencing Dallas Austin: “Dallas described you as just like myself.” Yah… there’s a Grammy coming to you, too, one day.
Back in L.A., Lisa mourns her brother Meho’s early death and visits his grave site. “The pain never really goes away,” she said.
NeNe, of course, provides plenty of comic relief just being NeNe. And she marvels that Lisa has (gasp!) a tiny Asian dad and Asian relatives. “You are so black!” she said. Indeed, Lisa’s black side probably stems from the fact she grew up in a black neighborhood. “Gangsta boo,” is NeNe’s description of Lisa.
The only other plotline really addressed: Sheree plans her upcoming fashion show. — supposedly “sponsored by Mercedes Benz,” she helpfully noted — twice.

What I don’t understand is how ppl can constantly talk about Lisa not having her two kids when she has them 4-5 times a week, they just can’t be seen on the show, yet they can apllaud Kim because she is so “pretty” and yet she is the worst mother I’ve seen yet. We all want our children to have nice things but to what extent are we willing to go to get them. She has two daughters and all she is a high dollar call girl…at least that’s what Dallas Austin said on Twitter. And I figure he should know since according to Kim, they are “good” friends.
As far as NeNe goes, I liked her last year. This season, she is just too much into herself. I am sure she will have her own show very soon. I wondered why she didn’t like Kandi, but now I see why. Kim likes Kandi, and whoever Kim befriends, NeNe take offense to that person. Just like last season, she couldn’t stand Sheree because of Kim and Sheree’s short lived friendship. Also, has anyone else picked up on how she is manipulating every tense situation and making it even more tense but trying to stage an “intervention” for every feud? She is a master manipulation.
Why does everyone feel that Sheree is broke? The woman received a $750,000 settlement. Plus child support and other items. on top of what she is getting paid from Bravo and different apperences, she will be ok!She may need to deal with some of her anger issues and as far as her being demanding with her fashion show, she should be! She has the drive to be successful, don’t hate her for it!
Just because a NFL player is dropped from a team, doesn’t mean he is broke or washed up! Ed Hartwell has business smart as well as his wife Lisa. Leaving the home for a smaller one was a smart move, but of course we would rather not say smart, we just want to say they are broke with out knowing the facts!
Kandi, is about as real as it gets! I am glad she wised up about A.J. She has made a lot of smart business decisions and still not broke. She is living in the same house she bought when she was with Escape and she
doesn’t like to flash her money. She has class, and is raising her daughter to be a young lady. You go Kandi, NeNe is jsut jealous of you, yes I said jealous. She judged her before having a decent conversation with her. when Kim gets mad at Kandi, and she will, NeNe is going to be all in her face!

THIS SHOW IS HILARIOUS AND PRESENTS A VERY POOR REPRESENTATION OF ATLANTA.
1. NENE is more ghetto than anyone on the show. We already know that they were renting a house last season, that they couldn’t pay for. They were evicted. They made a little money off of her fame and are faking it even more this season. The fact that she called Kandi ghetto is funny as hell…
2. KIM must be a prostitute. She has no education, no talent and a guessing a hidden skill that keeps her with an old man who pays for her lifestyle. What will she do when her kids realize she’s a prostitute…if they haven’t already. But, NENE will kill you if you become friends with her.
3. LISA AND ED have some money left from his NFL days. Their other businesses are doing well, but at least they recognized their situation and made adjustments. However, I wish Lisa would stop faking, too. We know you were on drugs. It’s rare that a court awards custody of children to the father in this day and age.
4. KANDI is as real as it gets. No one makes the kind of expressions that she does. Hilarious. I just wish she wouldn’t marry this guy with 6 kids and a bag full of drama. She deserves better, but doesn’t know it. Mama knows!

Kandi seems to be the only one on the show who is focused and goal oriented. the other ladies cant seem to go 2 minutes without gossiping and speaking about each other behind the others back. NeNe didnt seem to know how to carry herself on Rodeo Drive, which is very telling of her socio economic status, meaning she is not a wealthy woman or a virtuous women as she plays to many childish games. If Kim is her true friend as she wants to try to convince the viewer, then in no way would she speak ill of her behind her back.
Lisa tries to portray to the viewer that she is a busy business woman, when in reality, she is just busy being busy.
Sheree has an idea of herself, that only she shares with herself. She is very self absorbed, it remains to be seen, her spending some real quality time with her children, they just seem to be accessories.
Kim seems to be desperate and willing to befriend anyone who says hello to her.

Only “socialite” in Atlanta that rents and defends her hubby after being sued for backtaxes.Fabulous.Kim-former stripper whose stage name was “Barbie.” A woman who thinks she is a country singer and todays poll on Bravo has 83% of people saying it sucks. No baby daddy in sight for her two girls and her “exclusive” townhome is where she runs her burlesque operation out of. Fabulous.Sheree-baby at 15,yes 15,along with 2 arrests at 19 for theft in her native Ohio. Only “socialite” in Atlanta that bounces a $346 check late last year. Voted the woman in Sandy Springs at a recent party with real socialites as the woman with the least class in the city as well as the one you would least like to leave your purse unattended when she is around. Fabulous. Lisa-sued by ex husband for $150,000 for a loan he gave her to make some movie flop called “Blackball.” Ex husband refused to let their kids on the show and is trying to enter the world of fashion which is not going to well unless you want to dress like a circus clown. Only “socialite” in Atlanta to file for bankruptcy in 2007. Fabulous.

I am the queen of ghetto-ness! I am an avid gossiper who has to be in the spotlight all of the time. I act as the “peace-maker, but I really talk about everyone behind their backs. I have a lazy eye, so I try expose my breasts to take the attention from my eye. I’m not a real writer, so my book is not worth spending your hard earned money on. My husband rescued me from the strip club, so I have to stay with the old geezer. Besides, who else is going to watch my kids while I travel and party 24/7? Gay men approach me all of the time because, after all, I’m one of them too! I have low self-esteem which is why I cause mess between everyone. I wear a size 12 shoe – it’s hard finding stripper shoes to fit my big azz feet! The common denominator for Drama = Me! I live for drama, after all, that’s my middle name. Oh, I am dillusional because I truly believe that I am an A-list celebrity. I am so much better than everyone else and will not hesitate to mistreat and snub common people. I’m also an alcoholic. NeNe is a fraud, rented a luxury home last year but couldn’t make the monthly payments, got evicted. Published a memoir that was written by someone else, perhaps if sales are good she can afford to stay in her new luxury home a bit longer…her son, who was supposedly admitted to Clark Atlanta University, has dropped out to become a night club promoter…I wonder if she decided to take back the truck she leased for him during the first season…oh, yeah…they never really got that truck!
Lisa is unfortunate….everyone is having issues with the value of there properties due to the economy BUT who willingly goes into foreclosure by not paying their monthly bills if they have sooo many business and millions of dollars lying around, besides the websites and contact information for each of her businesses no longer exists…makes me wonder what else doesnt exist in her fantasy world…
Sheree needs go back to school or get a real job…the divorce settlement she received is not going to sustain her lifestyle and throwing what money she does have into a fashion line is going to send her and her family to the poor house before she realizes it…

I love you girl. I am your biggest fan. You were the life of the party in LA as usual. I think it would have been pretty boring without you. When are you getting your own show. I would love to watch it. I go on line and watch some of the episodes cuz’ I can’t get enough.
I love all the Housewife shows, OC (Tamra’s my favorite and I love her husband, I can’t stand Vicki the one who ignores her husband and is always on her blackberry or laptop, Don should leave her ass and get a woman that is attentive, , NY (Brittany is my favorite the one who makes Skinny Girl drinks) and NJ (I love Jaqueline), but ATL takes the cake. Bravo, you really did something when you created these shows. I like the fantasy it provides me. It is better than my soap operas and I love it. Ne Ne, get your own show girl, get your own show!!!! You are Jerry Springer, Oprah, and Chelsey all in one.

I agree with most that last nights show was BORING… However, it is funny to see Kim replay the same lines on Kandi that she used on Sheree last year. Kim’s wig looked better this show, maybe this is one from her very own line
Nene is comic relief, but she is getting a little full of herself. I would like her to have some of the humility from last season. Lisa is a woman that has gotten by on her looks and her “hair” that everyone wants. Life didn’t turn out like she thought when she got with her first husband. Lisa really find out who you are and live your life without all of the stuff. Take a radical forgiveness walk or something and let all of that past stuff go. You are definitely staying busy to keep from thinking about the past. Sheree please don’t continue living in a fantasy world about your fashion sense and how wonderful you are. You aren’t that wonderful and not much class either. Use the opportunity to get something solid. At your age you won’t be able to trap oops I mean get another baller. Kandie, don’t marry AJ and keep doing you. You are young and will meet someone that will love you for you and deserve someone as wonderful as you in your life. Also, a few sessioins with your vocal coach would be good right now to keep your voice in mint condition.

(Sigh). WHY are people still complaining about the way these women portray Atlanta? Are you so lacking in confidence that you don’t believe the outside world has any notion of your city other than what is displayed on this show? Good grief. If the folks in New York, New Jersey, California, etc. aren’t bothered by the chicks from their states, then why are y’all so bothered by these women? You SHOULD be bothered by THIS statement:
“(Sheree) (v)oted the woman in Sandy Springs at a recent party with real socialites as the woman with the least class in the city as well as the one you would least like to leave your purse unattended when she is around.”
The idea that so-called Sandy Springs ’socialites’ would ‘vote’ about the ‘class’ of a television performer says more about Atlanta than Kim, NeNe, Lisa, Sheree or Kandi could EVER say!

Question though why was her man so intent on who was texting him while he was on the show with her? Kandi, You may think he is a good guy but I think I see what your Mother sees…let me go for real. Don’t take him off hiatus. You will be glad. A better, more deserving man will come in your life and make you happy. Let go off the “I am Ms. Independent woman” and maybe you will meet someone who doesn’t have all that drama and can make you happy. Some may look at our independence and feel intimidated. When you keep saying “I am independent” that can chase a good man away. You don’t have to say it for someone to know you are independent. They can see it…just be more humble and down to earth…
Lisa…I can see where you get your fakeness from that Mother of yours…or is she being fake because of what she learned from you? Why when asked where she was from she couldn’t say the specific island…she had to say the WEST INDIES? There isn’t an island called the West Indies…all the islands including Jamaica is a part of the West Indies. It just gets me that when asked, “Are you from Jamaica” she quickly said “no” and said “I am from the West Indies like the “West Indies” is some exclusive place that is better than Jamaica.
My message to all of the housewives…don’t pretend to be who you are not on TV…because as the old saying goes…You can take the person from the country but you can’t take the country out of them. No matter where you live now…be it Duluth, Buckhead or Sugarloaf…your family will really show us the true you. Lisa’s brother is real…throwing that rum on the grave of his deceased brother!!! That is real!!! He wasn’t about to play the fake game like Ms. Lisa acting like she don’t know it’s customary for folks to visit their dead and talk with them. She needs a reality check!!! I agree with alot of the posts, the only real person on the show is Kandi, she bring a certain flair to the show, but she needs to really re-evaluate the marriage situation. I’m not saying her man is a bad person, just don’t rush into it wait another 2 years and see what happens. Ne-Ne,Kim,Sheree and Lisa are all 2 faced. These women “do not” represent the Ladies of Atlanta.

I agree with you Truth….NeNe is a fraud, rented a luxury home last year but couldn’t make the monthly payments, got evicted. Published a memoir that was written by someone.((The show was good the first season, but once FOX ran the story on how fake Nene & Greg Leakes really are it was just a comedy show. NeNe & Kim were Atlanta strippers & hookers according to ATL bloggers last year, and Sheree & Lisa golddiggers. These women are stupid to think the public takes them seriously.
