Holla back! Frankie & Neffe spinoff show debuts

Keyshia Cole is gone. But her sister Neffe and mom Frankie live on in reality land.

The pair held a party at Uptown Lounge & Restaurant in downtown Atlanta last night to celebrate the launch of their spinoff show “Frankie & Neffe,” which debuted on BET at 10:30 p.m.

Frankie is an indelible reality star.

At age 49, she has now been off drugs for a couple of years but remains a whirling dervish of energy. Both on the show and in person, she utters “Holla” with as much frequency as Flavor Flav yelps “Yeah booooy!”

She also acts like she’s 19 years old while poor Neffe, her daughter, rolls her eyes and sighs – a lot. She is a hyperactive jitterbug at the club, hugging people, posing for pictures, dancing, never stopping.

Check the pair out outside the club before the party started:

The first episode features Neffe and Frankie adjusting to life outside the Keyshia Cole womb. (Keyshia had brought both to Atlanta from Oakland to help stabilize their chaotic lives.). Like most of these reality stars, they don’t have actual 9 to 5 jobs. Rather, their lives revolve around banking off the fame from the reality show itself. Very meta, eh?

They have a manager Manny who helped Neffe get a book deal. (The book comes out next month). Frankie is talking about a clothing line. Both make appearances for cash. Neffe is struggling to get a divorce while doting on her current fiance. Frankie struggles to stay clean and living responsibly on her own.

The pair meet a “life coach” and quickly get into a tear fest as Neffe discusses how she doesn’t like to bring her kids over to Frankie’s pad because of the bad people Frankie hangs out with. Frankie simply wants forgiveness for being an absentee mom and wants to move forward. It’s a nice set up for the rest of the series, which will certainly guarantee more fights and loud arguments.

Frankie is still using and Neffe knows it that is why she doesn’t want her kids going over to her house and why those people are hanging around. Frankie needs to stop faking and accept the fact that she is an addict, she needs to grow up and get her self together. Neffe having babies like a damn dog. She should get her tubes ties or stop having ses. Reality TV, let’s be realistic, if they were not related to Kesha Cole, they would be 2 black women on welfare struggling to make it in 2009, like other single black mothers.

Who in the heck are these people? I’ve never heard of any of them. The one sure looks like the chick who sat behind me at the movie theater last night talking all through the whole dang movie. Obnoxious blacks.

I think it is very sad that we have come to this…is this really entertainment. I understand the struggles that everyone goes through in life but what are we really learning here? The executives at these stations would not put shows on like this if there wasn’t a demand for it. Hopefully the “reality show trend” will die like disco and trashy talk shows. The choice is yours to watch or not watch.

What’s worse, they make shows like this…or the AJC covers them as news?

You should have more respect for yourself and your publication. These crack ho’s don’t know any better.

I hope by now the AJC has stopped wondering why people have discontinued their subscriptions. “Slim pickings” constitute the bulk of the Sunday paper. And for those stuck behinds their desks for eight hours a day log onto their website to find “such entertaining articles/blogs” as this!

One more thing… I’m almost certain that book of hers will make good kindling for the upcoming winter months… AND… “At age 49, she has now been off drugs for a couple of years but remains a whirling dervish of energy…” well, that’s because that dope she was on has cooked whatever brain she USED to have back in the day.

Clearly there are better stories and eye catchers than this to cover guys! These shows would have people to believe that there is a rainbow at the end of the “drug attic” and “multiple children out of wedlock” rainbows. I do not watch this show or any other that don’t have any kind of positive direction. This is not a good depiction of how people cope with their issues.

Let's keep it real

Let’s keep it real. You have two black females cashing in on a reality show about nothing. Let them do what they do. White people have done the same thing and it wasn’t a problem before, so why now. Cameras have been following Paris Hilton and several others around town doing absolutely nothing, so let Neffe and Frankie make that money! I am not going to hate.

To Mark, you are an ignoramous to the fullest! Are all Whites serial killers? You’re probably proud to be ignorant too.I will be praying for you.Yes,we all can agree Neffe needs to be proactive about that. Frankie needs a HEALTHY support system. Here is a better answer: they both need Jesus. Once they allow Him fully into their lives, all hurts will be healed, all sins forgiven, and they will be new creatures in Him.

Neffe’s book is already out. I read it and its awful. It ends very abruptly and its not even written in her own language, someone else obviously wrote it. She’s been through a lot though, living on the streets for years and in crack houses with Frankie. Definitely a strong woman, but not very attractive without makeup AT ALL.

I agree with alot of the bloggers this show is an absolute disgrace to Black as a whole I mean really this show makes single black females with kids look BAD…I am not sure why BET keeps on allowing them to have a show they both need to get some REAL DAMN JOB’s and make it like regular people do and I don’t know about SOULLOW he’s in it for the RIDE and so is Darriel (the stylist) ad a man we need to see Soullow go to WORK not at the house cutting the grass he wants fame and fortune so bad he can taste it…I wish they would pull the plug on this BS…It is clear to see that Frankie is still an addict her behavior and the people that she hangs out with is a clear sign she needs to get it together before she ends up back in jail…

wow…these two individuals have definitely been through a lot…however, that does not mean that they deserve a reality television show. BET is milking these two women for all its worth…they aren’t really trying to help Frankie stay off drugs and they don’t really care if Neffee can take care of all those children…as long as they are willing to act up and carry on like two deranged women the cameras will continue to roll…i will them the best but the best will probably come once they stand on their own two feet and leave this reality stuff alone…

First of all regardless to how Neffe feels Frankie is still the momma. Neffee shud worrying about her own life and stop trying to live Frankie’s. Frankie know which way to go and if she doesnt go its her buisness. Neffee is too dramatic and needs to be glad she herself is getting a second chance. She is killing me. Where is the respect b/c at the end of the day she can only die for herself and honoring her mother is something that she is going to be hel accountable for in the end. She got a lot of situations of her own to address. For one she can never hold a conversation without being hostile. That is sad. How u gonna write a book and u cant even communicate. Neffee look at the man in the mirrow. Your mother is still ur mother and if I could write the producers dont think I wouldnt cause u are killing the show with ur drama. U aint bad just dramatic and nobody is scared of you so if u think you can kill someone sorry you are only killing urself. I would never buy your book and I watch the show cause I luv Frankie. At least she is real. You fake as a $3 bill. Get it together

this is the worse of the worse! it is evident that they need counseling. as a black woman, mother i am so HURT that bet allowed this show to be on television. i do understand all families (black, white, asian, latino) have issues. but why? as black folks do we need to have our mess on television. i watched it once and will not watch again.

There’s a lot of negative things that can be said about both Frankie and Neffee and I to agree that this show is a disgrace not only to African American women but to women in general. This family is a train wreck ready to happen and I do not know how BET could think this is good for Neffee’s children. I just hope and pray they get the help they need especially Frankie. It is all to clear from looking at her this season compared to last season that she is back on drugs. If I’m wrong I apologize but I doubt it. Keisha Cole has given them a blessing that most people wish they had….A second chance on getting it right.

neffee and frankie has been through alot but at the same time neffee needs to stop acting up in front of her kids and set a good example for her kids and frankie needs to go to a drug clinic and come back and set a good example for her self and her kids and then say holla i am back and i feel so much better and for all the people who do not beleive that people can change the hell with u

I mean you crack ass crackers have been doing this sh*t for years! How many times have we had to watch shows about no nothing white folks being famous and getting attention for nothing. So don’t hate on these sista’s who are getting that paper!!!!!! That is why there are 5000 channels on tv now………… Turn it!!

Enter your comments here Yes I truely agree with that other comment about Frankie and Neffe really needs to add positive people to this reality show and the children are so very important in all of this. Its too much kaos around those children and too much drama. And that guy Soullow probably wouldn’t be nowhere to be found if there no cameras involved, thats portrays a bad example as well he should be working somewhere, its Crazy!!!! to be that pressed for a man hell no ……it seems like he’s using Neffe!!! And she should chill on having any more children for now maybe use some of that energy and go back to school or something .

You people need to get a life. This is a reality show and quit talking about how this show down grades Black people. It is nice to see that people can overcome regardless of their situation they are put in. Good luck and thanks BET for bring this show. I LOVE IT.

Stop downing the show. Blacks are a disgrace to themselves period. The majority I being pimped by the Pastors. The members are always talking about Jesus and don’t even have a relationship with him. They know more about their Pastors than the Lord. Don’t get me started on their consumption habits. Spending all this money buying all these video games and other electronics for their kids and don’t have time to raise them because they are too busy buying them.
