“Real Housewives of Atlanta” opens to big ratings
Clearly, viewers are not bored yet. “Real Housewives of Atlanta” brought home 2.7 million viewers Thursday night, the most for any “Real Housewives” franchise debut.
And that’s far more than the first episode of last fall, which attracted just 656,000 viewers, though interest grew steadily until the finale. That tension-packed special took in 2.8 million viewers.
In comparison, the season two premiere of ‘The Real Housewives of New York” opened at 1.6 million and the season two premiere of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” took in 1.1 million viewers.
The show also drew more than 1 million page views on bravo.com.
Including the 11 p.m. rerun, nearly 4 million people watched Sheree Whitfield’s little outburst with so-called party promoter Anthony Shorter.
I’ll have local numbers next week. I’m sure the show landed in the top 20 in Atlanta.

These comments tell me all I need to know about this show. You don’t have to be a viewer to see that it appeals to our baser sides. Why do so many of those who “loooove” this ignorance misspell their messages? I’m just saying. Why do people have to call other people profane names to get a point across — perhaps displaying their own bit of RHOA behavior? I’m just saying. Why do whites feel this show gives them an excuse to call us the N-word..(Wake up AJC!!…somebody is using “Ner”, as code for the N-word!!) Yes – this is entertainment, but at whose expense? BRAVO TV has decided to portray the worst of the worst stereotypes about black folks, and black women in particular. How can you love the show and not hate how we’re being exploited and portrayed. We as black women don’t get paid, but we reap what the RHOA sow, and it’s not good. Yes, these sisters MAY have money, money, money(not really sure whose money they have, based on these blogs.) But money has never, doesn’t now, and never will buy class. Now that’s a new title for this show..instead of Real Housewives (since only 2 are “married”???) I’ll write my suggestion to Bravo – “Money Don’t Buy Class in Roswell, or Alpharetta” or wherever they live”. It’s perfect for all the outrageous,ignorant, irresponsible, attention-grabbing, fake “bi-ness”, fake designer wanna-be characters that are on this show. Five years from now, some trivia contest might ask – whatever happened to…and then we’ll kick ourselves because we won’t remember any of them! Hahahaha. Y’all have a great day. Keep the peace.

Dumbfound is right, the show is all black cast. However, I can guarantee you that the producers are not. I would even say, the producers are probably gay. This is the reason why the women are portrayed in such a manner. If you notice, all the guys who disrespected the woman where gay! All they woman are dressed and made up by gay men. So, is it no wonder the women on this show all have issues with men because they have no idea what a real man is about. When they finally meet a real man – they kick him to the curb, like used trash! We will see how long this show will last.

They have no idea what it’s like being the real housewife of a rich and powerful man!! The ish they are portaying is only a tip of the ice berg, trust me it’s really more scandulous then a cat fight. LMAO
However my darlings, what I am most excited about is that HOLLYWOOD was great in the 20th century, but ATLANTA is the new epi-center. If nothing else comes of this, the movie/tv moguls need to recognize!

Sorry “bosses wife” but educated people of class do not say things like ” If nothing else comes of this, the movie/tv moguls need to recognize!” That is so ghetto no matter what the color of your skin. When you use phraseology such as “need to recognize”, all we can “recognize” is that you received no education what-so-ever. Hopefully, you were being ironic. People get over this is just a show for entertainment, these women are not representing Atlanta only themselves. If you are foolish enough to pattern yourselves after this hot mess then there is something wrong with YOU. IT’S JUST ENTERTAINMENT, so sit back and enjoy the hour. As for that event planner, I would love to know who he his, and the company he works for. Under know circumstances was his behavior professional, I don’t care if she was asking him to turn tricks there is a professional way to say no. But to call her a B_ tch, and talk about her mama, very unprofessional, I’m going to try my damdest to find out who he and his company are and put it on blast, they are just as much to blame as him, they only closed the door to the conference room when it got heated, did they not think that reflected on their business…….

It is not that serious, folks. It is just a show. If anyone is stupid enough to think this show represents ALL black women, then that is their fault. The show is just enhancing what they already think and nothing else would. It is entertainment and fun to wash. I pity all those that see this forum as an opportunity to either post racist comments or complaining how “ghetto” these women are. You are clearly dealing with your own issues that seem to be triggered by a TELEVISION SHOW. Get some help from your family with a nice dose of prayer.

getting back to this loud mouth that went off on Sheree. well he said google him, so i googled his name and there is nothing there that is impressive. This Anthony Shorter character is just that , a character. I cannot believe that he was soooooooooooo unprofessional. Any lady that does business with him (or man for that matter) needs to beware. He “eat bithces like you everyday”. What the? And then he took it back to 3rd grade “YO mama is a btich” Wow. Regardless of how he felt about Sheree prior he still should have held his composure and remained professional and then he would have made her look classless. I think these women deserve more credit that anyone is giving them. They have probably more money than any of us bloggers and they have enough sense to have their own TV SHOW. Well what does that say for us??? It’s pure entertainment and we must like it because we keep watching it and pumping up their ratings. All I can say is make the money the best way you know how and make your haters your motivaters. They talked about Jesus so who cares what any blogger has to say.

How embarassing for these womens familes, it is amazing I did not think they could stoop any lower then last season. What this shows is that no matter how much money you have ( or pretend to have, posers) you can’t buy class or sophistication.
Their jewlels are as fake as their hair, living in over sized tract homes in ATL. So sad, at least the NJ women are real mothers, wives and fight for their famlies, these women are just sad..so embarassed to be an educated black woman as these women make us look like jokes..No wonder our men want snow flakes and even Kim makes that less attrtactive.I will never watch again

In my ‘hood Lisa and hubbie moved out (foreclosure) taking “everything” with them and NeNe’s house was just rented and partially staged to give her a place to be when filming. I sure hope people ARE taking this as pure entertainment and don’t think this is really Atlanta!

My disappointment is the lack of upscaled lifestyle, and family being apart of their daily life. They simply talk about one another, drink and have social gatherings infact three of the women (Kim, Sherre, NeNe) what do they actually do or have done for a living???? Please eliminate them from the show. . NeNe is entertaining and confrontational (all african americans do not depict her image.) Think about it.
