They’re baaaack. And given how much press “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” have gotten over the past eight months since the first season ended, it’s as if they’ve never left.
The highlight of this first episode is not drama between the five housewives. No, it’s between Sheree Whitfield and her party promoter Anthony.
At first, things are hunky dory as he pitches her a concept for her post-divorce “independence party.” He wants it to be themed around Hollywood and Cleopatra. Somehow he makes this sound like it’s original.
Sheree tells him she wants something “grand, grand grand” for her independence party. “The party is all about me,” she said. But of course. Question: Who’s paying for this? Who knows?
But later, Anthony gets annoyed when Sheree starts asking her questions. They meet face to face and it gets ugly fast. She feels out of the loop. He becomes defensive. Then they start yelling.
She also portrayed her ex husband Bob as evil for not paying child support for 19 months and stopping mortgage payments without telling her. Her home was in foreclosure, forcing her to move in a new place. Bob has stayed studiously quiet about all this so we get only her side of the story.
NeNe Leakes is in a forgiving mood. She first reconciles with Sheree. The pair had a falling out last year over a missing party invite.
NeNe also wants to bury the hatchet with Kim Zolciak at a birthday party for “Reno 911″ Niecy Nash. (”Who’s birthday?” Sheree asked.) But Kim avoids NeNe though Kim claims she was really avoiding Lisa Wu Hartwell, who was with NeNe. It’s just like high school!
Kim sees her psychic again. She has been spending money on this gal for seven years. She says she broke up, saying it’s been “rough.” “There was some betrayal. He was talking to people he shouldn’t be talking to behind his back,” she said. Yes, typical drama when it comes to Kim. She denies that she lied about Lisa. She’s still hurt about NeNe and her mocking Kim’s singing abilities. “I do care about her? Am I ready to have a glass of wine with NeNe? I don’t know.”
She is starting her own wig line and goes to a school to learn about wigs. But she has no attention span and gets bored. She said she needed money now that she was no longer with “Big Poppa.” I suspect it’s much easier for her to find another Sugar Daddy than actually work, though.
Kim’s gossip mongering is peeving NeNe, Lisa and Sheree. And all three believe she won’t apologize.
In other “Housewives” news, Ed is ready to have Child No. 2 and Lisa is a bit apprehensive. “I’m 38 and the clock is ticking,” she said.
Fifteen minutes in, newbie Kandi Burruss pops up for the first time as a friend of Lisa’s. She introduces herself as a financially secure singer-songwriter, a single mom and ready to marry a dude with six kids. There is no sign of what may come later in terms of her falling out with NeNe.

Lighten up people…I’m a woman who’s been a debutante, member of Jack & Jill, my parents are lawyers and I’m married to one…AND I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! My point is no matter if you have uppercrust “pedigree” (or not) there’s something about every woman on this show that we can relate to whether you’re from Beverly Hills or the Appalachian Hills (lol!)….so to my girls on the show, keep living life and feeling every moment of it!

The event planner was absolutely appalling! The primary reason one hires an event planner is to minimize the stress that comes with hosting such a lavish party. It was not his job to induce MORE stress. He should be used to dealing with large egos–not be one! Such a job requires a composure and grace which was greatly overshadowed by his super-sized ego aka insecurity in disguise]. Who cares if he’s an executive? It was her party . . . her bill . . . Therefore, her right to inquire about the details of the party. That man needs to consider an intensive anger management course before continuing his verbally abusive mission to convince others how fabulous he really is NOT. It just so happens Event Planning is the vehicle with which he chooses to stroke his starving ego. If I were Sheree, I’d make a concerted effort to warn people about hiring such a jerk; especially, for important life milestones.

I have been an event planner for over 15 years. Never in my professional career or my lifetime have I ever seen such a display of bad judgement on Anthony’s part. As a seasoned professional the client should be a part of and have the final say – The difficult the better – listen, this was any event planners opportunity to shine. Sheree is a business woman, a line coming out, lavish birthday parties at her home all filmed on TV – Are you CRAZY!!! You would have impressed her and her guests with future and repeat clients left and right. He was more concerned with power. I own my company and my moto is truly customer service first – its the only way to make money is to please the customer above and beyond expectations. Of course it was free…the exposure alone was priceless to say the least. I would not hire Anthony to scrape the cake off a brides shoe at an event that I put my name on. He had no respect for her because he has no respect for women – for him to make such a horrible comment to defend his sexuality says he does not respect his wife! Who cares if he’s gay or straight, married or not – He is blacklisted. I am based in Pembroke Pines Florida serving Miami, Palm Beaches as well as travel to California, New York and Atlanta – wherever business takes me. I work closely with my preferred vendors in each state – just on word of mouth I have built a successful business – none of the vendors that I do business with would ever be associated with someone like that. Who addresses themselves as a “TOP LEVEL EXECUTIVE”. You wouldn’t even put that on a resume. “How Dreadful”. Not to forget – “Respect my Top”!! Never in Corporate America – He has done several interviews after the show aired but has failed to say if he is still working for the company – I only wish he would find his way down to Florida job hunting – He actually greated a client wearing a baseball cap…As Sheree said…”who does that”??? I was not a fan of Sheree’s last season and may not be this season – that is the entertainment aspect of it – would we be friends – proberbly not – but this has to do with business, customer service, supply and demand and the bottom line bringing revenue to the company – ANTHONY DROPPED THE BALL BIG TIME…

Sheree is a trip. She talking about Nene as much as Kim did. At least Kim was women enough to admit to some of the stuff she said. Sheree just sat and acted as if she said nothing. Nene need to rethink her friendship with Sheree. Sheree maybe going thru it but that is no reason to start the new season lying. Be REAL girl!!!

In regards to all the comments about white execs making us look stupid on TV, we are all responsible for our individual behavior. These women choose to make their own decisions. They have devalued themselves to make a few dollars. None of them have been forced to be on tv. The same goes for shows like Flavor of Love. What a joke. He looks like a cheap crackhead, yet these women threw themselves at him shamelessly. I don’t see this as a racial problem, but an individual problem. It’s time for AMERICANS, not just black people to step and make better decisions, decisions that empower us, not debase us. Nobody can run your life but you so stop blaming ‘whitey’ and others for the poor choices greedy people make.

I agree that, with the exception of Kandi, these women are a poor reflection on black women in general.
Kandi is definitely my favorite, by a long shot!! The song she sang in episode 1 (?) about why she wants her man lit a fire in me I have not felt in quite some time.
I’m looking forward to purchasing some of her music!!!!!

I’m so sick of people telling other people what to post on here. I’m black and yes I watch the show, and yes it’s my right to my opinion. I still say they are acting ghetto and like a damned fool.Especially nene !? You have your opinion and I have mine. For people saying Kandi is ghetto…I only saw her get heated WHEN nene’s loud and ignorant behind got up in her face. I don’t see how anyone could like any of them except for Kandi and maybe Lisa. But, to each their own. We all see things differently and we’re not all going to like this one OR that one…But, we still have a right to our opinions. Just because some of you like Nene doesn’t mean that the rest of us have to.

You people don’t get it…First Anthony is the owner of the company, so he would never get fired. Secondly…its TV and that shyt aint REAL. Thirdly, dude is getting his own TV show next season and Sheree was FIRED. I truly respect Anthony for standing up for himself and his COMPANY…Sheree is a low budget BITCH and got exactly what she deserved. Anthony good luck with your new show…I will definitely be watching.
