6/15: Dr. Laura moved back to afternoons on WCFO-AM/1160
As of today, Dr. Laura Schlessinger is back at 1 to 3 p.m. weekdays on WCFO-AM/1160.
The news/talk station two months ago moved Dr. Laura to evenings from early afternoons. At the time, Jeff Davis, who runs the station, felt she was too female skewing and didn’t pair well with lead in Laura Ingraham.
He didn’t think anybody would care. But don’t under-estimate those Dr. Laura acolytes.
“We got a spate of angry emails and phone calls,” said Davis. “You can’t always tell the forest from the trees as program director. We didn’t realize how popular she was til we banished her to the evenings. I got tired of the phone calls and emails.”
He had Jerry Doyle in at 1 to 3 p.m. as a sub. “He has good numbers in other markets but nobody knows him here. She’s a winner. I won’t make that mistake again.”
Stay-at-home moms often can only listen in the afternoons, he noted, not the evenings.
“I don’t think we gave her enough of a chance,” Davis admitted. She joined the station last spring doing 9 to 1 p.m. Then, she was moved to 1 to 3 p.m. when the station got Ingraham in the fall, before the last change in April.
Dr. Laura said she was “touched and happy” by the move back to afternoons, according to an email to Davis.

Thanks! So tired of the same old right wing talking heads. Glad to have Clark Howard and Dr. Laura during that time slot to tone down the constantly negative rhetoric.

i like dr. laura – one of the few people in the media not to blindly accept our slouching towards degeneracy. thank god somebody’s fighting back.
and as for these so-called right wing talkers, thank God for them. dittos to rush; sean, you’re a great american! and neal boortz – love you man! y’all keep up the good work for right-thinking americans who pay their taxes and right now are getting the big shaft!

Does she still do naked pictures? Those last ones were pretty “degenerate”. I wonder what the private collection looks like, probably some leather and whips. i bet she has some parts pierced since the last shoot.

So Dr. Laura took some nekid pics a couple of decades ago? Big deal! Why not look at how she is living her life today? I am also sure that the people who are talking about what she did years earlier have never done anything in their past that they regret today.

Kudos to those who raised their voices. Keep raising them for good.
The irony about being considered “female skewing” is that Dr Laura is one radio personality who is definitely not afraid to stand up for MEN, meaning good men and good dads. That’s men, not males. There’s a difference. If more men knew this, knew that she speaks for them when the feministas are trying to turn them into castratos while pleading otherwise, the audience for the program would probably be about 50/50, male and female.
When I meet a man who says “Dr Laura, isn’t she a ball-busting rhymes with witch?” I know they have never listened to her program or read one of her books or given her any kind of a chance. Same goes for women who believe the stories and not their ears, but I am more surprised by the men who sneer at her mention.
As for the nude photos, all women make mistakes. A smart woman learns from her mistakes. A smart AND wise woman uses those mistakes for the greater good.

I’m so glad we got her back to daytime. I want to thank my fellow listeners for speaking out and I want to thank my favorite radio station in Atlanta. Thank you, Newstalk 1160 for producing the best radio station with the greatest lineup!
